Happy Thanksgiving Day! {celebrating w/ J.Crew}?

First and foremost... Happy Thanksgiving Day everyone! (I know it is a day early, but I am pretty sure we will all be super busy eating celebrating tomorrow.) It's the time of year where we can spend time with our loved ones and enjoy a fantastic meal. It also officially starts the Holiday season. :)

Per JCA tradition, this post is to find out what everyone is going to wear. I find it really interesting to see what other Aficionadas and Aficionados plan on wearing (and of course it gives me lots of wonderful ideas for future outfits). :) So for this post, what we are planning to wear on Thanksgiving Day? :)
I am planning on wearing an outfit centered around J.Crew's French Hen. Although it is not a turkey, the hen seems whimsical enough to pull off for Thanksgiving!

What are you planning to wear this Thanksgiving Day? Are you planning to go "head to toe" J.Crew or parts J.Crew?

  1. A French Hen outfit sounds really cute, Alexis! Think I'm going to continue the tradition I started last year by wearing my overalls, lol, see HERE. But this year I'll kick it up by wearing a sequin top and leopard print flats with them. Yes, all J.Crew ... Crewcuts overalls, Factory sequin top and J.Crew shoes. Happy Thanksgiving, JCAs!

  2. I can't decide! I'll be in the kitchen for a good part of the day and will probably wish I owned the Tilda or ruffled rhinestone top to wear under my apron. I'm always inspired by this thread and will probably make my decision after JCAs post.

  3. I don't know, it'll depend on what I feel like tomorrow morning. I'm terrible at planning outfits.

  4. I am planning on the French hen also. Wearing them with the navy velvet toothpicks form last year, black patent belt and black patent flats ( Ivanka trump, not Viv but almost identical)

  5. You know I love JC, but for Thanksgiving this year, my outfit is all Eileen Fisher. Black/gold metallic sweater of a long gold/black metallic tank, and either the EF pencil skirt, or skinny knit jeans. Much more comfortable for traveling and eating, lol. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!!

  6. Thanks to a lovely JCA who was keeping a merino confetti sweater in her closet for me. I will be wearing that and navy velvet toothpicks. Have not decided on footwear, probably boots and then change to slippers, we are getting together with neighbours. Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

  8. Happy Thanksgiving everyone! We will actually have some cooler fall-like weather for the holiday this year, so I will probably wear a sweater with one of my boot skirts and a pair of knee boots (of course). I will also be in the kitchen cooking, so I'll be wearing my apron part of the day, too. :)

  9. Breaking with tradition, since we're a small group this year we'll be in a restaurant, so I won't be wearing baggy jeans, cotton tank, clogs and apron! Actually looking forward to wearing JC black lace pencil skirt with TSE black cashmere tank and RL black suede blazer. Happy Thanksgiving, all!

  10. Our Thanksgiving is usually casual. Per my daughter's request, she wanted to match her Boden stripe cotton long sleeve, so I will be wearing a J.Crew cotton stripe, as well.
I will be making green beans wrapped in bacon, herb infused mash potatoes, and an apple pie, to bring to my parents.

Have a Happy and safe Thanksgiving JCAs!

  11. Since we dont have any family in the states, our family will just spend a casual Thanksgiving by ourselves.
I will probably wearing my blackwatch plaid shirt from last year with the navy/black lace skirt.
    Have a great Thanksgiving JCA's!

    1. Hi Julie - I think it's Fall 2005. It's a cute scarf!

      Happy Thanksgiving, JCA's!

  13. Finally had about five free minutes to figure out what to wear. I decided on a JC forest green cashmere tee from forever ago and a slate gray TopShop draped lace skirt top with my orange Oxford jacket. I'll complete the outfit with dark gray tights and black Ralph lauren boots. That's the best I could do since I'm so preoccupied with pre-Thanksgiving preparations.

We're cooking a small turkey since we're also having a leg of lamb and cornish hens. We'll have wild rice & shiitake mushroom stuffing, mashed red potatoes, basmati rice with dill, fried plantains, black beans, garden salad and berry stew for dessert.

  14. I ended up wearing the jeweled sweater tee in nickel titanium over the heathered raglan tee in stone melange from 2010, jeans and Coach Delphine flats in the khaki/chestnut. Of course I are too much and am miserable now. Hope everyone had a happy one!
