Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SUMMER sale, or to see some new FALL arrivals {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

  1. Wish I could visit a J.Crew store but unfortunately the closet one is at least an hour away and with 2 little girls under 2 it's impossible without help. But I did score the Sydney Patent Sandals in Neon Azalea online with free shipping. I've been waiting for these to come back in Neon Azalea and had to jump when I saw these were on sale and free shipping online.

Also I recently purchased a pave chain link bracelet almost identical to J.Crew's via ILY Couture and had to share. It's only $75 on their site, but if you like them on FB they often have coupons. I purchased the bracelet when they were offering $30 off it. So it was a steal. I have a review on my blog Pigtails & Pearls, http://pigtailsnpearls.blogspot.com/

Definitely check it out if you're looking for the JCrew pave bracelet but can't bring yourself to spend the money.

  2. The only thing I have purchased recently are the nylon fold up bags, I have been looking for more of them, the JC ones fold up into on nice flat package and the sale price is $5.00 The size is good too.

I noticed that the blue, pink (Tilary?) purse is down to about $60

  3. Need some JCA advice! I am contemplating ordering the cotton pyjamas on sale. What I wam wondering is: do they run large? do they wrinkle a lot when you wash them? Thanks all!

    1. I'm not familiar with the cotton, but beware the flannels, they didn't wash up well. They look like a worn-out wrinkly mess coming out of the dryer. I don't require my PJs to look pressed, but this was ridiculous.

    2. I thought Ema posted about them previously. You should be able to find the post using search function.

  5. Yes tomorrow, my VPS says the sale section at my store is very well-stocked as of yesterday.

I'd also like to see the DS Wool Hacking Jacket in person. I have always LOVED that fabric, but those colors are so matronly and summery! I'm hoping the true colors appear different than what I see on my screen.

    2. Also hoping to swing by Yorkdale tomorrow - hoping there's something to tempt me! The sale section was meh last weekend.

    3. Lots of Monas and flats in sale sec. Red cafe capris are 49.99! Saw some new plaid shirts but rest of new roll out will hit floor on Monday. Cabochon neclace was in sale bin too

      Delete
    4. Rest of sale section was usual suspects..nothing special

      Delete
    5. Good to know - thank you Dagmara! Now I can avoid Yorkdale for another week, knowing JC has nothing to pull me in and all I would do is go straight to Michel's and buy croissants.

  7. Has anyone tried the Vintage Slim jeans recently? How do these fit?

  9. Not visiting this weekend but I caught a final sale popback of a Prince of Wales Schoolboy blazer in my size this morning for $74.99. Now I just have to keep my fingers crossed that it's in decent condition - I have to wonder where it has been hanging out for the past year!

    1. Love that jacket, Cate! Great score!

    2. Yes yes yes! Good for you! I bought that jacket on popback too. It's gorgeous. I'm so glad someone got one! I wore mine the other day to a JCrew store and they were all over me like I was some kind of big spender or sumthin. "Love your jacket," they kept saying.

"Oh, thank you. You know, I love this year's design too with the jeweled collar. . ." Which I do. But not at FP.

    3. Great score! My VPS found one for me and I seriously had to wonder where it had been! Luckily it is in perfect condition, although it is missing the extra buttons that usually come with it.

  11. Has anyone tried on the Stadium cloth cocoon jacket (interested in the new green color)? would it be warm this winter and more imp. would the cut be flattering on someone a L or XL?
    thank you.

  12. Slightly OT: Madewell's sale prices have been *much* better in store than online. For example, found the silk dotty dress in navy for $50 less than online sale price! The dress was originally $168, online price is $119.99, purchased the dress and a sale tee yesterday at my brick and mortar store for $64.

  13. Everyday chino in shadow: Online only.

What color IS shadow? Grey? Navy? Black? Charcoal?

What colors do you pair it with?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. In my experience, shadow is like a weird mix of dark gray and navy. But it reads gray. I treat it as gray/black and wear it with anything!

      Delete
    2. I agree with J.CrewJD, but I've found that the color is not consistent across items and seasons. I have both the everyday chino and the heritage chino in "shadow" and they're distinctly different colors. One is more of a navy and the other is more of a gray. That said, I really like the color. As long as you aren't trying to match it to something, it goes well with virtually every color.

      Delete
    3. I see it as an extremely washed out dark blue. i have it in the chino shorts. I match it as though it were navy blue - if something goes with navy, it goes with these.

  14. Anyone know if the NYC stores, particularly Madison @ 45th, are honoring the 25% off $150? I'm usually told they don't, but sometimes a manager will honor the promo anyway. Regardless I don't want a hassle, just instant gratification on a few items in my shopping cart that I know they have in store.

    ReplyDelete
  15. I was at the Rockefeller store this week and they honored the promo. A VPS from the Columbus Circle store actually emailed me to tell me about it, so I assume all stores in NYC are doing the promo.

It's the end of the month--I imagine the promo is here to help them all make their numbers and clean out room for the new things that are supposed to show up October 1.

Also, OT, but something called the Lady Jacket now appears in the sale section on line. I don't think it was there before. Maybe there are a few more new things? Or maybe it's my wishful thinking.

  16. Not going this weekend since we are visiting the inlaws out of town. Plus I need to slow down since I bought 7 pairs of shoes yesterday at Dillard's. They were mostly all 65% off and then an additional 40% off. Lots of summer styles but several I can use for fall. Check it out if you have a Dillard's in your town.

  17. Slightly off topic but the Eaton Centre store is going to open next Wednesday, Oct. 3. Any Toronto area JCAs planning on going? It would be nice to meet up!

    1. Sounds like fun. It's crazy they still don't have a Calgary store. People here spend money like there is no tomorrow.

      Delete
    2. I'm sure Calgary will get a store soon. You're getting a Nordstrom before Toronto even does.

      Delete
    3. I can't wait for a Calgary store, I see way too much of the UPS man!!!

      Delete
    4. I will be going, but not until the weekend at the earliest. I hate the frenzy of an opening night.
If there's still a long lineup outside the Apple store they'll need crowd control down at JC just so people can get in! ;)

  18. I stopped in yesterday to return something that surprise!...went on sale and also is an additional 25% off. The sales section was full of sequins, a baggy sweatshirt with words all over it (port of call?), crazy printed pants and skirts and a bunch of gingham shirts and very short dresses. The usual suspects. And lots and lots of ugly jewerly. Also saw a cute new sweater, but they were hanging on hangers, making stretched out spots on the shoulders and basically stretching out the whole shape. I saw a stunning paisley "dress". Didn't even bother, I know how short it is. The SA's were happy to see me and pleasant, but I just wasn't in the mood....but the recent clothing hasn't done much for me anyway. I didn't see one thing I wanted to try on and I left.

  19. I need to return two pieces of jewelry I foolishly ordered.

The elephant bangle is cute, but I can't see myself ever wearing it.

The blue bubble necklace looks really cheap and, again, I can't see myself ever wearing it. I was also put off my the odd moth ball odor and the fact that it was sent in a plastic bag rather than a box. I question whether it's even "genuine" as it seems lighter and cheaper looking than I remember from the store.

  20. I will not visit the store since I am working the whole weekend on the end of quarter but I posted reviews of polka dot sequin tee (the one that showed up on the website for a few hours), Harper boots and new pink tweed pencil skirt HERE.

  21. Does anyone know if the stores have: Lady jacket in double-serge wool? It's on sale online and I LOVE IT...but how practical is it? Cropped wool jacket with short sleeves...ok..what do you think? Like it? Love it? Do I really NEED it...UGH!

    1. I saw it in the store last week but it interestingly completely disappeared when I went in today. I think they take some things off the floor for the promo...

Might as well buy it online at promo price, it's returnable if you don't like it.

      Delete
    2. I really want to see the yellow one on somebody. Inevitably on the site the model isn't wearing the color I want.

      Delete
    3. I ordered it today. It is so cute. I really want to see it on someone!

  22. Yay, my store honored the promo! I still should've ordered the items online for the shopathome cashback since last week's big order is going back and I'm losing the cashback, but I'm aiming to wear one of the pieces this weekend so I succumbed. Bought the sweater with all the silly stones on it as I am in love with the color scheme and the sweater is so soft to the touch. I'm sure it will pill, so I'll be extra gentle with it as I continue to look for it to go on sale while I'm still within the return period. Also bought the collection snake-print blouse. I wanted this when I saw it online, and in person it was so lovely I couldn't resist. Way easier to pair than the skirt IMO. Hoping this goes on sale too because I paid way too much in order to wear it tomorrow night; if it does get reduced, I'll just repurchase and return with my original receipt. I hate "playing the game" but I do it from time to time, and truthfully my size disappears so quickly that I've found it advantageous to buy the items I most want when they're new, and then if I get lucky later when they go on sale, great, and if I don't, I still end up with the items I want. A win-win.

Sadly for my wallet, J.Crew remains on my weekend shopping list as I have a bunch of returns and also plan to check the wedding shop for the collection Italian wool dress which I'm praying to score in navy. Too stunning to let it get away.

  24. Went to my local b&m today and they told me about the promo right when I walked in. Got the double serge wool No. 2 skirt in retro jade for $53 and the wool scarf in retro jade for $15.

  25. Regarding the lady jacket, it looks very similar to last year's Fanfare jacket in felted wool - even though the item numbers aren't the same, doesn't it look the same? Anyway, xoxo reviewed the Fanfare jacket here.

  26. Was at the Mall of America store yesterday and the MacAlister high-heel ankle boots in black and nut are already in the sale section for $159 - they honored the extra 25% off too. They had an assortment of sizes.

  30. Picked up the schoolboy blazer in navy, the bow bracelet, minnie pants in cabernet, tippi colorblock sweater, tippi in polka dot (navy/burgundy on sale in store--$59.99), the sequin polka dot top, and the wild side skinny bangle in saddle! Also, if anyone is interested, kate spade is offering 20% off full price items. I ordered the oohh lala bangle!

  31. My store has the new arrivals and a chock-full sale section. It was hard NOT to use this promo in-store and I picked up a few things ... inc Matchstick cords because I've been obsessed w cords this week. Lovely colors. I want the Excursion Vest badly but I will have to wait for a markdown on that one.

I'm hitting Land's End next for a coat in a luscious fall color. They have Friends & Family going this weekend, 30% off everything and free shipping over $50 online with code:

  32. Just returned from a successful shopping trip. I picked up the Downtown field jacket, which is fabulous but runs a little large, so I got an XXS. I was happy to get the Allie dress in modern red, and they honored the online sale price, as it was still FP in stores. I also got the colorblock invitation clutch ($89 in stores vs. $98 online) and a striped Tippi marked down to $30. With the 25% off plus the student discount, it was an excellent deal!

  33. Why are people talking about the stores "honoring" the promo? It says specifically in the email I received that the 25% is good online and in stores...

  34. Stopped by a bigger b&m than my local on a trip across NC. I eyed the caramel schoolboy but was turned off by how wrinkly it was on the hanger. Visited Madewell, too, for the first time (I was at Southpoint). I'm often drawn to their wares online, so I was surprised at how unengaging I found the store. It struck me as very tweenager.

On the way back to the coast today, I stopped at a Crewlet. Lesson: it's way cheaper in store. The SA told me she'd honor the 25% off $150 on top of the store specials AND the 25% off coupon Tanger Outlets offered for a donation to breast cancer research. Short story: I could have gotten Deals with a capital 'D.' But, again, the presentation was so lacking and the fabrics so synthetic that I walked away. Made my way to the Brooks Brothers outlet, where I saw the loveliest 100% camel hair two button blazer (very similar to the version currently on their website but with a less fancy lining). The jacket was $300 with 25% in store. BB also accepted the breast cancer donation discount, which brought this beautiful camel hair blazer down to $173, just a bit more than what the retail schoolboy is going for on promo. No contest: the BB jacket is a big winner. Moral here: if you're looking for a camel blazer, check out the BB outlet.

  35. I decided to use the 25% at the store, instead of ordering online-instant gratification. I finally bought the Capri Jacquard in Jade and Denim Western Shirt.

Moving on...I can't wait for the next roll-out.

  37. OT, has anyone seen the Martina Suede wedges in Bright Persimmon (orange) in a size 7.5 in-store? I got a pair and realized how cute and comfortable they are but now my size is sold out online.
