In a catalog sent to my home in August (not sure how I qualified-- not a cardholder or anything) I received a coupon for 20% off $250 with the Very Peronsal Stylist program (not sure whether or not it includes sale too). I didn't even have to set up an formal appointment to get the discount, I just mentioned to the saleswoman who approached me and she happened to be a stylist rep at the store so she helped me with sizing, etc. The promotion ends September 15!Very exciting news! This is a great excuse to stop by a B&M store to check out new arrivals (and maybe go home with a few items!)
What are your thoughts on J.Crew's VPS promotion? Did you hear about this promo at your local B&M location? Did you take advantage of this offer? If so, please share! :)
Hope others received this and get the chance to take advantage.
ReplyDeleteI wanted to add: It's good off a minimum of $250-- not including tax/shipping-- and BEYOND, so if you spend more than that, the promo still applies. Happy shopping.
I received this offer too Ebliss44! Glad u mentioned an appointment may not be needed. I might have to stop by this week :o). whoopee!!
ReplyDeleteI got the same promo code as well in the August catalog, and once I got into contact with the VPS at my store, she told me I could just send her an email of my order and she can place it for me and ship them for free.
ReplyDeleteThe only thing I am uncertain of is the return policy, like 30 day for B&M store vs. 60 day for online order. Would orders placed through VPS only carry 30 day return policy? I personally prefer 60 day as I like the opportunity to request price adjustment for items that go on sale within the 60 days and I have not worn them yet, or return and buy it back later.
No, it's still an online order which gives you 60 days. She's just going to order them through the phone to get your free shipping & discounts. Also, price adjustments are only within 7 days of the purchase.
DeleteDear Alexis,
ReplyDeleteHow are you? Thank you so much for posting this offer. I was aware of this offer this morning and have been trying to combine this offer with the cashmere promo.
I have been receiving different answers from different states (I am currently traveling)and from online in regarding to how the promo and VPS offer can be applied. The experience has frustrated me so much that I think I might just quit drinking the 'crew-aid'. I would really really like to e-mail Mickey D. regarding my experience but I can't seem to find his e-mail address. I know you had success before, would you be willing to e-mail me his contact information?
Your help is much appreciated!
Hi YaXin D, sorry to hear about your experience. Mickey's email is: millard.drexler@jcrew.com. I am not sure if he really checks his email, but his personal assistants definitely do and they always respond back and can even direct the email if necessary from there. Good luck! :)
DeleteCompletely OT but Lucky magazine did a short interview with Marissa Webb about her new Spring 2013 RTW collection. I heart everything I see.

OT- Factory women's & men's sweaters 30% exp. Tue.
ReplyDeleteHard for me to spend 250 these days...will be checking the sales
ReplyDeleteHi Alexis, I heard about this from my VPS. She was very nice about and said it could be combined with the in store sale and even the cashmere promo.
ReplyDeleteNice to be able to combine offers, I bit on this one yesterday!
The treats for everyone in the US just keep on coming but for the rest of the world, no. No box for discount codes, no 20 percent off - why do they bother with us? Don't they remember what caused the French revolution? Liberty! Equality!
ReplyDeleteTabitha, if it makes you feel better, I didn't get any codes either. Perhaps it's time you wrote Mickey. :D
DeleteTabitha, I agree with you. Are they trying to alienate buyers with these "special" and "secret" promotions?
ReplyDeleteI have an extra cardholder code (25% and FS) for the first person to e-mail me, hexicon at yahoo dot com. According to the fine print it must be used with a J.Crew card.
ReplyDeleteCode claimed!
DeleteD*ska, thanks for posting that link to the interview with Marissa Webb. I like some of the pieces but it took me a while to get over the deja vu feeling. It's so similar to Tibi, Rebecca Minkoff, Kelly Werstler and a pot full of designers that look the same. To me, at least. I don't see anything new or different at all.
ReplyDeleteCompletely OT, but can anyone comment on the fit of the cafe capris in herringbone relative to the regular cafe capris? I had to size down in the regular ones because they stretched out so much, but am thinking the herringbones won't have as much give in them due to the thicker material. Can anyone help? Thanks so much!
ReplyDeleteMamakoh, I bought last years wool houndstooth cafe capris and because the are fully lined I did not find that they stretched out. So I bought them in my usual size I didn't size down.
DeleteThanks so much! Will purchase in my regular size.. am kicking myself for not picking it up during the mustshop promo. Hoping another hits soon!
DeleteI also took advantage of the VPS discount this weekend. I bought the Collection Janey calf hair flats, very comfy for J Crew flats and I also preordered the Collection Eisenhower jacket with the VPS discount.
ReplyDeleteHas anyone tried to get the VPS discount without having a code? I have used a VPS a few times so I don't have a huge relationship with mine and I'm wondering if it's worth it to ask her to apply the discount.
ReplyDeletedid everyone receive the catalog this weekend? mine has not come in yet and i'm dying to use this promo asap.
