It's that time again, to take a look at an image of J.Crew pieces from seasons past! As caribbelle (in this post) so beautifully termed, "ye olde j crew of yore".
This post features the St. Emilion Eyelet Blouse, a romantic top thanks to its embroidered eyelet medallion design. Absolutely gorgeous!
What are your thoughts on the look(s)/item(s) from the past? Do you find the look(s)/item(s) classic or do you think they are dated?
That just looks horrible on the model. Well, I was never a fan of that particular model but if the top looks bad on her, it would probably look bad on most! Yuck. But the fabric looks really pretty.
ReplyDeleteI was just coming on to say the same thing! I think it's the sleeves that are the most unflattering.
DeleteWhen is this from?? I think her makeup is pretty dated. I wouldnt say the shirt is dated, just not a very good idea.
ReplyDeleteI think that this was Spring 2007? They did a similar silhouette in Winter '07 that was made of polka-dotted silk. If I recall, it didn't sell well (went down to like, $20 or something)...but! They learned from the mistake and didn't proceed to do it season after season after season (I'm looking at you, high-waisted-too-short-plunging-neckline dresses!).
DeleteI have this top and the sleeves are not as wide as they look in the photo (and I don't have huge arms) The lace is beautiful and the back has large covered buttons. I wore it this summer with the neon pink cotton pencil skirt and I hope it didn't look too "bad" :)
ReplyDeletelove this top and i've been stalking ebay for years now for it! i like that it's loose and oversized, would look great with skinny jeans or a pencil skirt.
