Join the J.Crew Factory Club {yes please!}

"Thanks!" to many of you, including Debby & LemonFraternite, who shared the following Factory related news with us: J.Crew has created a J.Crew Factory Club!

This is a new feature J.Crew just implemented and it has some real perks associate with it. First, JCAs need to sign up (click HERE). You can add a new email account or log-in with your existing J.Crew account.

What are the perks, you ask? Well, they are pretty great... Free shipping from Oct 11 until November 1, 2012 and an additional 20% off for your birthday! The fine print (because there always is):
*Full benefits subject to creation of J. Crew Factory account. Free shipping valid on Internet orders placed through a registered account and shipped via regular shipping (3-6 business days). Birthday offer subject to account creation in advance of the first day of the month in which the birthday occurs. Terms of Factory First program subject to change without notice.
I love this new feature! I think it is brilliant. So brilliant, that I think J.Crew should roll-out the same club for both J.Crew and Madewell.

Did you sign up for the J.Crew Factory Club? Are you loving the perks? Think J.Crew should extend the club to its other sites?

  1. No, I did not. But I will sign up for a JC one if they ever form one.

  2. Thanks for the reminder, Alexis! I got one of these in my inbox, but promptly forgot about it :) I just signed up, mainly because I'm finding some nice factory crewcuts items for the kids…with the sale prices, they are actually bettering deals from Gap, Boden, Target, and Garnet Hill (still not better than Old Navy, but then, that's hard to top!).

  5. How nice that they have heard our pleas for real perks! As others have said, I wish it went beyond Factory.

  6. I signed up for it but tried to do a check out with the 30% off sale items and shipping is still there. Did I do something wrong?

  8. Thanks for the info. I didn't get this email. I never get the good ones. (sad face) Maybe this is a test and they'll roll out a similar program for regular retail. Of course we have been waiting 685+ days for a website wishlist feature, but we soldier on, right?

  9. I don't think I'll be joining. I agree with you, fidele. I used to stop at the factory store to hunt for retail items that ended up on the sale rack, but I think they took strides to prevent that. Otherwise I can find "plastic" shoes and polyester shirts at less reputable retailers...harsh? Maybe.

  10. I think outlet malls have become too widespread to stock all the stores with retail turnover. Because then people would be complaining about lack of sizes, defective merchandise, out of season styles, etc. It would be near impossible to make a profit on only left over retail seconds. Consumers themselves and other companies have set the standard for the "new" outlet mall.
    I think J.Crew is attempting to get a more regular factory consumer base and not just the once yearly tourist passing through.

  11. I signed up on the off chance that the free shipping period will also carry over onto retail purchases--you never know ;)

  12. This offer is awesome. You know what's frustrating? My birthday was yesterday! Bad luck for me I guess. I just signed up but thinking I'm gonna have to wait another year for my birthday perk.

  13. What does the language of the birthday rule mean? Do those with birthdays in October get the 20% discount?
