LOVEIT Ends Tomorrow!

J.Crew sent an email reminder about their latest promotion. They are offering customers 30% off all final sale items (no min) with promo code LOVEIT. This offer expires tomorrow, Friday, September 21, 2012. The fine print includes:
*Offer valid at jcrew.com only. Offer is not valid at J.Crew retail or J.Crew Factory stores. Offer valid in U.S. and Canada only. Offer does not apply to previous purchases or to the purchase of gift cards. 30% off discount applies only to J.Crew sale and Factory sale items online. Offer valid through Friday, September 21, 2012, 11:59pm ET. Savings are applied at checkout with code LOVEIT. Offer not valid on phone orders. Cannot be combined with any other promotion. Limit one promotional code per order. Details of offer are subject to change.
The Final Sale section (click here to shop online) had some nice small updates during this promotion. Too bad the B&M stores are not officially running this offer as well. But they are offering something for customers...

"Thanks!" to LemonFraternite who did let us know that B&M stores are running their own promo: an additional 25% off all sweaters, including Collection and cashmere.

Will you be checking out the Sale section? Are there any items you are hoping to see or to get?

P.S. Blogger's new interface finally caught up with me and I had to transfer to their new system. I cannot express how much I dislike it.

  1. I'm not thrilled with the selection of sale items. I tried on some stuff that were great deals in the store, but quickly realized why they were marked down so much. It's better that I don't spend unnecessarily anyways since I'm about to invest in a navy Schoolboy Blazer!

  2. I wasn't going to, but got a Tippi sweater and the colorblock sweater skirt.

    1. And the second Tipped merino cardi in the 'brick sand' colour. The first one in the navy (photo here) was so nice and comfy, I had to get the other one.

  3. Alexis, Blogger's newer interface isn't fun, but you'll get used it. There are some better aspects to it. However, it will still switch on you between the old version & the new version. I find this occurrence most common in the wee hours. Maybe that's when they are still tweaking the format.

    1. I agree with Gigi. I hated it at first, but am finally starting to get used to it, although I still find it extremely frustrating that it doesn't auto save your posts while in draft form. I have had to 're-do' many of my posts because of this, so now I try to remember to hit save numerous times while I'm writing them.

  5. It's worth repeating that the in-store markdowns currently differ from online. Details in this post.

  6. I bought the solid Cashmere Bateau Sweater in black, I just love that neckline! I love the B&W striped version as well, but that just seems excessive.

  7. I checked it out but a) I hate final sale and b) nothing that I would consider buying was actually final sale, so...no dice! BTW, I'm finding good stuff elsewhere this fall, like Boden and a Brit catalog called Poetry.

  8. I bought a couple of cashmere sweaters on line -- great deal because they are on sale plus 30% off -- much better than the store where they are full price with 25% off. Can't compare really.

    1. It's also 25% off sale sweaters too. Bought my first cashmere sweater from JC. Two tone cashmere sweatshirt was $139.99 plus additional 25 off. They would have honored 30 off but it would have made it final sale. A $7 difference for my indecisiveness cuz still want option to return.

    2. Are all cashmere sweaters 25% off in stores now?

  9. I really want the pleated polka dot crepe skirt but have never seen it in store, and I wear a 14 so even if my store had it they wouldn't get my size. I even checked stores in Scottsdale (the big city, lol) last tme I was up in Phoenix and nada.

So I chatted with CS today to find out mesaurements. Then I asked if I could order and return if it doesn't work, since I have never seen this skirt. The rep said no,they do not allow returns on FS. So I said alright, I will pass and take my business elsewhere, it's just too much of a risk to order from final sale when one has never seen the item. To which the rep said, I hope this answered your question and feel free to contact us with any concerns. I feel bad for CS because they probably get lots of annoyed people and it must wear them down to have to keep repeating the same tired lines rather than be empowered to help people.

I just can't chance $84 plus shipping and tax on a skirt. So sorry J.Crew, no matter how bad I want this I am staying strong.

    1. You should contact a PS and explain the situation. They will make a note on your account to allow the return since you are not able to try the skirt on in the store and it is now final sale.

    2. Not always. My PS won't allow fs returns.

  10. Jacquelyn,

I think it is ridiculous that this skirt went straight to final sale.

If it makes you feel any better, I tried the dotted skirt in my last order and was unimpressed. I ordered my usual 6 and it fell too low on my hips and was so loose that it moved around when I walked. If I had reordered it in a 4, it would fit better, but then it would be short (and I am only 5'4"). The fabric was pretty, but was so light weight that I think I would flash someone if I wore it in the lightest of breezes. It is cute, but I don't think it is worth $80+.

As a reference, I bought the Gondola this summer and found it to be TTS to slightly tight in the waist in my normal 6 but long and weighty enough for me not to feel like I was wearing a little girl's skirt.

  11. Thinking about getting the purple Tippi. Thoughts??

  12. just got the purple tippi today. the color is very rich and pretty. I don't own any purple color clothes but I love it in person. I am planning on wearing it with my white bubble necklace and black skinny pants! Also I got at the store for $34. Sweater was $44 then 25% off on all sweaters. Very good deal. I say go for it!!! :)

  13. There are currently 218 items on Final Sale in the Swim section. That's almost funny. I don't know many people who would risk buying swimwear that they couldn't return.

    1. Actually, I bought some swim pieces the other night that ended in .99 but were not labeled as final sale anywhere. They seem to be doing that a lot more lately. It's kind of a pain, but if you select the size and color and don't see the dreaded red text, it's not final sale! HTH!

    2. Ditto. Made two orders this morning (that has alreasy shipped as of this evening, whoa) and only a bottle of essie and a striped top were actually marked as final sale. The Jules dress in stripe and a cashmere sweater both lacked the dreaded red signage underneath.

    1. Me too... and the store let me stack my student discount, so I got it for like $20.

      So excited!

  17. I ended up ordering the cashmere bateau in stripes, the cafe capri in herringbone and a tank with the built-in bra. None of these were fs. I posted picd of the sweater and pants, along with pics of the schoolboy in velvet, pop art polka dot cafe capri and Collection silk crepe tee on my blog today (sorry I can't link)

    1. Im temped to buy one and wear a button down underneath. I've never tried one on. Do you take your normal sweater size! I have long arms and torso so I think I have to stick with a small. Any advice?

    2. That's what I'm going to do, wear button downs underneath. I got the navy a couple of weeks ago and it's really nice, well made, but it runs large. If you're between sizes, size down. It's not thinly made like the long sleeve tees, it has a thicker more lush feel. When I saw them added to the promo last night I got the black, grey and burgundy.

  19. I ordered the bateau in black/white stripes, giraffe necklace (FS but $55 - here's hoping I love it), vintage straight leg jeans and Etta pumps in persimmon (^%!!). Nothing but the necklace is final sale......I think I need to shut down the iPad!

  20. I don't know if this is the right place for it, but I need some community help! Turning to JCAsWFIFY, has anyone seen the Tippi in Heart me in XXS anywhere? If you do/have please let me know! bankygirl (at) gmail. TIA!

    1. Fashion Place (Utah) had quite a few Heart Mes this afternoon... I didn't notice if they had an XXS but it might be worth a phone call if you haven't found it yet.

  21. I broke down and bought two of the cashmere boatneck sweaters--the collection ones. I am looking at the camel colorway too--I like it.

A note that the green and blue polka dot cashmere is now on promo or what looks like a sale price.

Thank you to the community members who found the Marigold necklace weeks ago--I got one for 20something dollars. Of course it is now on "sale" for 99. Thanks to all of you, mine arrived at a more affordable price.

  22. hi everyone,
Is using 30% off code for sale items make the items as final sale, no returns?
    Thanks :)

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I believe they are final sale only if marked as such when you checkout (you would see the final sale text in red underneath the item) and the price ends in .99. From my experience, items that are promotionally discounted can be returned even if the additional 30% off is applied.

  24. Today I recvd the high-waisted cord pencil skirt (99012). I chose regular (not petite) in my JC denim sz 29. Hits mid-to just below-the knee. Great fit, not vavoom, but the stretch is nice. Love the saddle color. Another rave for the perfect-fit ballet button tee (72716). Ballet pink & white were returned (nipple city), but the black, cabernet, navy and heather grey are nice. I wash, machine dry & wear them often.

Btw, I'm looking forward to seeing the high-waisted cord pencil skirt on you.

    3. Gigi, I also got that skirt and really like it. A perfect fall piece with boots for me. I am slowly building up my stock of basic clothes so I got the high waisted denim pencil skirt too. It also has a very nice fit and I think will prove versatile.
