  1. I looked through new arrivals and noticed some of the new denim pants in pictures (Lynn mentioned some details the other day): a denim patch pocket pant (shows up only in petite and tall), a denim jogger on a model and a denim seaside pant in a dark indigo on a model. I don’t have style numbers. The supposed high rise patch pocket pant is less than an 11” rise so not a true high rise. To me the cuts don’t look great for my shape, but who knows how they will be in reality. I was hoping for something a little more tailored I guess with a small waist and high rise.

    1. Yes, to me a true high rise is 11" (and I've done 12"). I love very tailored with a small waist. It works best for my long torso and makes my legs look longer. I've always been in love with the look of pants on Katherine Hepburn, Lauren Bacall, Marlena Dietrich, etc.

Are these new arrivals from the next rollout that Lynn mentioned? Are some of them already on the site?

    2. Agreed, my long torso is fine with 12” plus…my favorite pants over the years were that same cut.

I just looked through the new arrivals and saw some of these bottoms included in model pics of shirts/tops. Only the patch pocket denim were live on the site and only in petite and tall. Let me check and see if I can find style numbers.

    3. I’m assuming the pants in this pic are the fall weight surf or seaside pant (I can’t remember exactly what Lynn said they were called.) fit doesn’t look good to me.

    4. These look like the patch pocket jeans, I saw them on the site earlier in petite and tall but can’t find them now.

    5. And here are some denim joggers. Can’t say I love this incarnation. I love a chambray lounge pant but with no fake fly or seaming these really look like toddler pants to me. Maybe in person they are better.

  2. Visited the N. Michigan Ave store yesterday after a meeting - it was so nice to be in a store after my two closest ones closed last year. Meager sale section, a few of the print dresses. My timing was off as I wish I could’ve gone next week when the new arrivals hit, but the good news is the store manager said there will be Collection in the new designer’s women’s line going forward! Another sign that upcoming rollouts will have more for everyone to love.

  3. @ruffles, thank you!! Cautiously optimistic. One thing I’m not going to like is a cashmere sweater with a pocket and ribbed to boot. Ugh

    1. Hi Lynn, I was wondering about the pocket and ribbing, too. The colors and quality will have to be amazing for me to consider. Fingers crossed.

  4. Thanks Suz Has and Lynn. I hope the classic straight jean (11" rise) is good and made of mostly cotton with a small bit of stretch. No Tencel, please.

Ruffles: It would be nice to see quality collection pieces again.

    1. I just got a pair of citizens of Humanity jeans with cotton and tencel and I like the material more than I expected. Not sure if it’s the weight of the cotton or the addition of the tencel but they are very soft and the material feels good against the skin. I’m not sure the cut is a keeper (I have another size coming) but I like the rise, material and wash. We shall see.

    2. Citizens of Humanity jeans were my absolute favorite. Really nice quality and fit. Found two pairs of my fave style at Nordstrom Rack years back and was so excited. Haven’t found them in store in a long time.

    3. I just ordered two sizes (one smaller, one bigger than my usual) in one style and then the next day they were reduced and they had my usual size so I ordered a third. I think the fabric will give but the smaller size is a bit more fitted than I want, but my regular size should work ok. They’re all gone from the site now and the larger size canceled. It’s pretty unusual for me to actually like ANYTHING These days so I’m hopeful. I will keep checking the website for a restock!

  5. Long time lurker, I have a LOT of NWT j.crew stuff to offload (mostly collection)... What are the best resale sites these days? Trying to decide if it's worth my time considering this stuff is probably only worth pennies on the dollar I paid, though hopefully nickels and dimes...

    1. Poshmark is really easy to use and only takes a 20% cut, with shipping paid by the seller. Please come back and update us with your username wherever you end up listing things- I'd definitely take a look!

    3. @Sparkles, I have used ebay and have been extremely lucky especially with Vintage Collection Jcrew cashmere, coats, shoes, etc. Anything I have purchased from Jcrew has always been at least 50-70% off so I would add 50% to what I paid. My items were always NWT or in excellent condition which also made a difference. I prefer eBay as they have excellent customer service and when you sell items that are beautiful you receive excellent feedback. This is just my personal preference. Good luck with whomever you choose, you Will sell those items.

    4. I have pretty good luck with poshmark. I sell a lot of stuff new or like new and have sold over $13k in about six years. I know people do it for business and resell but for the most part I buy stuff and then have no need for it, plus I have three young adult daughters I as well. I just became a posh ambassador! Whatever that means. Lol.

I’m @suzhas if you want to sign up I believe we both get credit—though if Alyssa or SWP in nova have accounts they posted first.

Mine is linked here: Join me on Poshmark—my favorite app to buy & sell fashion and more. You'll save up to 70% off of top brands! For a limited time, use my code SUZHAS to save $10: https://posh.mk/XFftBIOX6hb

    5. I prefer Ebay, just me, I've used it for way longer and am more comfortable with it. The few times I tried to sell on poshmark it just frustrated me, I sold the exact items on eBay instead, much faster, and for more money. I like how you have much better quality photos on ebay and they have the zoom function (however I use a dedicated digital camera for my pics, not a phone. I'm not trying to make a profit on my stuff or break even, I just want it out of my closet for - as you said - hopefully more than pennies on the dollar. My NWT stuff always flies out and sells super fast. I just listed like 14 things on eBay a few weeks ago and 12 items were sold within 4 days, most of them for my asking price even though I chose to accept offers. If you have NWT collection items you shouldn't have a problem selling them on eBay or poshmark. I'm usually thinking to myself "I can donate this for $0 (but fast and easy), I can send it the thred up and get $1-$2 for it, or I can sell it on ebay for $X" and then I go from there. :)

    7. Thank you all! I actually am an experienced ebay seller and have dabbled in Poshmark so thank you for affirming those 2 are still where all the "cool kids" are at... 😎

    8. I’ve heard of younger kids using Debop or whatever it’s called but there was something about it I didn’t like when I looked at it.

    9. Depop i think. from what i saw, it looked like stuff from H&M, Urban Outfitters, Zara, or vintage stuff that look like stuff in those types of stores now.

    10. Eeps, I thought so too but then saw an expensive independent designer pair of pants, maybe a kid thrifted them and sold them cheap.
