Sought & Found: Did you visit J.Crew this {past} Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopped by a J.Crew store this past weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store was/ is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

  1. Storm got me up in the middle of the night, the only thing I ordered on sale was a bikini bottom. This morning I tested a bunch of things and couldn’t add most to cart, what I could was not included in the promo even if it said “extra 60 off” under it. I’m chalking it all up to website issues.

    2. Yeah I was hoping to buy a few of those leather totes to give as gifts. I will see later if not will call CS and order.

    3. I didn't order anything. Just no needs at this time I guess. I did buy my husband a gorgeous pair of wool/silk glen plaid trousers last week that popped up in his size. Perfect now that he's back at work a couple days a week.

  3. Wow…so many things I had in my cart changed price from this morning until the afternoon, things that were on sale are now full price. The leather tote in red, was coming up $30 on sale and I didn’t buy it because I don’t need it but now it’s full price. Linen shirts AY665 that were reduced to 69.50 (but sale wasn’t coming off) are now 89.50 full price. I hate the pricing games!

    3. @kikigrl, hi there I purchased a bunch of those totes for gifts. Multiple colors, including the Vintage Red. $30.00 can’t go wrong. Hope you received the sale price for them.

    4. Hi Lynn, by the time I got around to contact CS via chat they said the tote is not on sale. Denied there was a computer glitch and asked for a screenshot as evidence that it was on sale prior to 10 am est. I disconnected from the chat. Not worth the effort. 😿

    5. I see now the brown and navy are on sale. I was hoping to score the red ones as gifts.

    6. Hi Kikigrl, Keep trying. I hope you reach Crystal in CS. She’s wonderful. We had a discussion about poor shipping and she expedited the totes to me. Complain. Hopefully you will reach someone that will do the right thing.

  4. I took the blue striped bow tie blouse to the nearest JC to see if anyone there could show me how to tie the untie-able necktie. It was not a productive use of my time. Pity, love the fabric. Moved on to the neighborhood Nordstrom, discussed possible alterations with a cheerful tailor. Does anyone remember buying a cake mix to save time, and then having to add any number of ingredients so the thing wouldn’t look or taste like a cake from a mix? Yeah, like that.

    1. Was Nordstrom able to help?
Used to be that the crew associates knew about the product, about fit, about styling and putting outfits together. I don’t think the current staff at my local crew is trained this way anymore. They are perfectly pleasant but it’s a different level of service.

    2. @suz, im mulling over the suggestions and the costs. The best look would be from removing the entire collar/tie, cutting it in half, shortening the blouse and using the offcut to rejoin the halves of the collar/tie. The blouse would then also have to be rehemmed. I would ghen have a nice useful SILK BLOUSE! Part of me thinks that if I like the blouse it would still cost less than half of retail. Part of me thinks there’s a reason why Nordstrom’s accepts donations at that location.

  5. I ordered the dip dye linen shirt in orange/fuchsia. So NOT me but I kept looking at it…When I was able to come up with three ways to style it, I pulled the trigger…how could I resist for $40

    1. @fleurdelys, I purchased this in the same color. I too, was hesitant to order it thinking it’s not me but it’s much prettier in person. First one had shrunk, company sent me another. Lots of compliments. Pretty with the green seaside pants, and white. I paid $32.00. Ah the pricing games.

    2. I was considering that shirt also @Lynn and @fleurdelys! I am wondering about the sizing!

    3. @Lynn great minds ;-)
@shoppingcelle I sized down two sizes as I don’t want it to be too oversized. In the classic shirts I go down one size but as this is a relaxed shirt I thought two sizes down would be better #fingerscrossed

    4. @fleurdelys, Shoppingcelle, Update on the shirt. I too sized down two sizes and the fit is perfect. I wanted to achieve a more shirt look. I’ve given this shirt a new name. Under the Tuscan Sun. I’ve ordered quite a few more for friends here. Colors are nice with Sunflowers here😂 A big hit with my Italian friends.

    5. @Lynn Under the Tuscan sun is the perfect name 🌞

    6. @fleurdelys, are you in NL at the moment? What’s trending there at the moment? I’ve noticed a lot of smaller companies in Italy, Spain and even France have started massive sales. Such beautiful prints in cotton poplin at unbelievable prices and even some of them do custom made to measure work for the same price or a little more than what you see on Jcrew. Wondering if they’re panicking because of the the Delta variant.

    7. Hi @Lynn, currently traveling in Denmark and Sweden, sale here too, but the scandi vibe is not really my thing: black, grey, tan and white. Love a good print, any retailers you would recommend?

    1. @Unknown, supposedly yes. I was told it would be very small. Autumn launches in mid August.

    2. I stopped into a store location that I don’t usually go to and I found the vibe very depressing. Blah colors not much merchandise at all. It kind of felt like they were closing or something but the SA stated were just between seasons.

I actually like that they are waiting until August for Autumn…in the past they have started after the 4th and It felt too early. That said some stores are going to look pretty empty for a while…
