Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

  1. A few items in my cart and saved for later showed up less than they are in the sale section, so I ordered.
Canvas sporty strap sandals in black and natural. AX918 I was hoping to see these in store but nope. Still, the shape looks very similar to the Gretchen Colorblock strappy sandals from last summer which I wear almost every day to the gym or walking around the neighborhood.
SATURDAY sneakers with Liberty print detail, AW563
Also got the Liberty square scarf (not the same print but that’s fine.)

Tried two black bikini bottoms (not final) but waiting on the linen pants since they might not work at all.

My first crew order since May 5. Kind of a record.

    1. (The linen pants I’m referring to are the tie waist seaside pant in linen blend, AN013.)

    2. I picked up shorts for my daughter $20 and non final sale. It was in my saved for later. If it does not fit. Easy to return! Lol
I been looking at the espadrille, they discounted them form $100 to $96 what a joke! Lol
But I did try them in store. Lol
Also been looking at the suede shoes Av984. Any comments on them form any of you. The beige are $24 after discount! I do like the navy. Don’t want to risk final sale. I think I have about $200 in returns now. Only half are final sale. Will try to return and see if they will be kind to give me a gift card like last time although I feel it’s prob limited time too. They did it 2 x for me and I begged and cried lol
So being super cautious which is great! Less spending!

    3. Suz, I have the Seaside pants from last year (in olive and khaki) and they appear to be the same this year. I took a S (5’6” and 145lbs and normally a 6/8 on the bottom). They’re body skimming, but not tight and I like the higher rise. I’d recommend them, but I also like a summer cropped pant as much as I like shorts.

I bit this morning. Several pairs of ruffled cotton shorts for the daughter for future summers (since she’s loved hers this year). I also got the navy Seaside linen joggers and a pair of leggings. They allowed me to combine my birthday discount ($10) with the same code.

    4. I also bit again this AM. I was eying the vachetta leather interlocking sandals the other day but without reviews I didn’t want to pay $103 with 50% off. I dropped it in my saved for later cart. This morning I was checking to see if anything in the cart changed price and noticed the sandals were still in my size. I put it in my shopping cart and with the promo code the price went to $24. Overnight JC decided to make the sale price $58 plus 60% off. absolutely willing to risk final sale on $24 leather sandals!

    5. Thank you Zach and Mere, then it seems most likely that I’d need the XS because I’m usually a 0 in pants, I just get so nervous with the rise and thighs which I hate right. I appreciate the detailed feedback.

  2. I bought the linen shirt with smocked puff sleeves AY671 for $39.49 which is a lot for ne to spend on a crew blouse, but I love white and linen and have high hopes for this. Sized down to XXS and didn't want to chance trying to get the size I wanted while hoping for another markdown, plus at 5:30 am it was not showing up as a sale item but was already in my cart and taking the code.
Also ordered the liberty sneakers SuzHas posted about above. She may have influenced me! My NB are on their way out and the price point was good.
Still waiting for the coveralls to go down in price. Too risky for final sale and there is a full size run so shoppers must agree. I no longer have the stamina to attempt final sale returns.
Picked up white and denim overalls from Gap sale today.

  3. For @kikigirl or anyone interested in Everlane, I got my retro jersey shorts and barrel pants in the opposite sizes. The initial size Xs for the shorts and S For the pants works better. I tried the pants on with the retro jersey hoodie and my husband liked it a lot (though he asked if I would wear it to dinner, I think wishful thinking on his part so he could wear his sweats. 😆 😝). But he said the pants reminded him of my old karate uniform (which was black) and now I’m not sure I can get past my old gi.

I also got the Everlane linen drape top which I like with my old regent linen pants. It feels very Audrey Hepburn. the top is very boxy but I think it’s ok and a nice change from a tshirt or one of my sleeveless poly tops.(also the reason I was looking at the tie waist seaside pants,)

    1. Haha karate pants. My black jersey pants still haven’t reached my home from the incorrect post office. Everlane CS said to give it another day. The easy pant in khaki green small arrived. The length and fit on hips is perfect but the elastic on the waist is too tight. Almost corset like. Will return. Don’t think size up will work since the hips will be too baggy. I will check our linen drape top. Glad that worked out.

    2. I have the easy pant in black. Last year they were number sizes and I got 0. The elastic is really tight! I tried the easy Jean this spring in a size up and they were horrible, such a weird fit. I did wear the easy pant a bit last year and ended up taking the hem down, it was just a weird length for me. Then I stained them somehow (with stain remover) so I reverse tie-dyed them with bleach and now they are cute with a black tank. Truth be told I prob should not have kept them but I wanted at home pants in the beginning of the pandemic and they seemed to fit the bill.I’m kind of over all those pants now! Yet here I am with the retro jersey barrel pants and shorts…sigh.

    3. Suz, everlane sent me a replacement for the black barrel jersey since usps lost the original package. Will update you when they arrive.

    4. Kikigirl, USPS is terrible with packages lately. I hope they stop using that service.

  4. Thinking about the Morgot cardigan. It's been years since I bought a cardigan at J Crew, but I generally buy XS because the XXS sleeves are usually way too fitted. I'm 5-2, 100 pounds, with normal arms. Any reviews?

    1. @Flower Power: I am 5'3" 100 lbs., and I tried both the XS and XXS in a store. I have frightfully thin arms, and those in the XXS were tight, but the body was better than the XS. I can't say that the sleeves in the XS were loose, but they were better than the XXS. I tend to want to wear something under a cardigan, and I could wear one of my Wintersilks L/S underwear under the XS cardigan because it would feel better since it's merino wool (sort of thin). The body on the XS was pretty boxy on me.

So, my thoughts on this would be that it would be a sweater for spring/early fall with my L/S silk underwear under it and tucking that sweater into some pants to give it some shape or perhaps belting it with a narrow belt of some sort.

I wish the Margot cardigan was more fitted in the body and a bit looser in the arms. It comes in some pretty colors. Seems like you and I are close to the same size. I'm very straight and slender, and If things are too loose or boxy, I look as thought I'm wearing someone else's clothes.

      I hope this helps.

    2. This is helpful. I've got a 30D chest but wear 00 and 0P generally. XXS sleeveless tops but XS sweaters generally, because of the arms. I've been wanting a lemon yellow cardi for a while but it's final sale and I have to guess right.

    3. @Flower Power: Call the Richmond, VA store. They are so nice there. The manager's name is Jen, and so is the assistant manager. They had the lemon yellow when I was there last week (quite a few, in fact), and they were less than online. They were in the sale section with an extra 50% off. If I remember correctly, they came to around $22 with the discount. I would go with the XS rather than XXS. The body would probably fit you better since I am 34B. The phone number is 804-364-9561.

    4. P.S. Manager is Jen Robbins, and the asst. is Jen Clark. Everyone I've dealt with there is nice and helpful, and most have been there for several years.

    5. Flower Power: Me again. I think the pale yellow color I saw in the Richmond store is called "Chiffon."

    6. Thanks ladies! Always up for ordering from a store over online. I will call that store. I'm guessing they may be closed today though.

  5. I bit the bullet on the tie waist seaside pant in linen blend, AN013, black XS.
As much as I hate the idea of final sale pants for $28, I didn’t want them to sell out (they don’t always make black each season) so I decided it was worth the risk. If I like the size I can get the olive which I liked in store. (Or not, because I have enough.)

I am returning a few things to everlane though, My husband ruined the retro jersey barrel pants by calling them karate pants, but I honestly don’t love the barrel shaped leg on me. I hope they come up with some different pant cuts in the same material. I do love the shorts and coordinating slightly cropped hoodie.

I stopped myself from buying the vintage cotton joggers again, but in a size down. I bought a small this winter and they’re comfy and wash well, but def baggier than needed. For $16 ish they are a great price but not a total need right now. Go me for showing some restraint. (Truth be told if I bought the pants I wanted the coordinating sweatshirt which I really don’t need…)

    1. I just received my pair of those tie waist seaside pants. I got them when they were still 50% off (so, $35) BUT I hit a magic hour before they were final sale. I went down a size to a tall small and they are an easy, comfy fit. Very high rise on me. I like the material but have no experience with these lyocell blends so unsure how it would wash. They are a nice casual summer pant but I'm returning because they length was just weird on me, not long enough to be full length, not short enough to look cropped/ankle length. I didn't love the high rise and the super long tie string (if I kept I would have just cut it to the length I wanted). Was pleasantly surprised by the nice fabric though, felt cool for hot weather, yet substantial.

    2. Julie lion thank you for reporting back. The regular inseam length is sort of ankle length on me, I think I’d have the same issue as you with the tall. I agree the fabric is nice but also not sure about washing. I’ve hand washed madewell shorts I have according to washing instructions. I think these say machine wash though, but I find I don’t have to wash pants as often as I wash shorts.

    6. Suz, Lynn, this particular tie is on the narrow side, so I’m going to leave it as is, at least for now. I fondly remember helping myself to an old boyfriend’s ties…

I also missed the return date on a blue & white striped silk shirt with a skinny tie neckline. The ends are the same length, so when the weather stops weathering, I’ll take the shirt to our little neighborhood Nordstrom’s and see if they can remove the tie and reattach it with one end longer than the other so that it will tie up into something presentable.

Meanwhile, red white & blue AND bleu, blanc, rouge until the end of August….

    7. @WFF, thank you. Ordered a couple. I too, will wear them as is. Happy July 4th

  7. FeedbacK on AZ 177 Ratti Compass Print.. Has anyone seen this print in person? Thoughts please. I like the print but not the dress. Hoping they come out with some other items in this. FYI new launch July 13th per stylist. They will most likely sneak in other items before then.

    1. Hi Lynn, nice to see you here. Are you referring to the smocked dress print? I did see it in store. The print is super super cute. The dress is horrendous. Unlined top and smocking came too high for me. I wish they had a decent shirt or skirt in that print.

    2. @kikigrl, first of all thank you very much for the info. Yes, that’s the dress. I have no intention of purchasing a smocked dress but like you I do hope there is a shirt or skirt which I would purchase thanks to your info. Thanks again and Happy 4th of July.

  8. Did not visit, but made a purchase with CS assistance as the price was not adjusting with the promo code. I received a great price as the item that come up on the search page looked as though it was eligible for the discount, but as per the rule that item had to end .99 it was not. Explained with polite logic and prevailed.
AY 673 Baird McNutt relaxed fit dip dye linen shirt. The fabric and fabrication are beautiful. The buttons are placed just so, perfection for a masculine rendition. The dip dye whispers rather than screams, it is barely there. It is oversized, but the sleeves are not overly long. This is truly a boyfriend shirt. I purchased the chambray sapphire and it has white undertones rather than a yellow cast you sometimes find in a bleached out item.

    1. I saw that shirt in the sort of taupe to white blend in my store on the sale rack, had the white been closer to my face I would have bought it, the taupe is not a great color next to my skin. I thought the dip dye was nicely done. Really pretty. Enjoy.

  10. Loved my outfit for dinner last night. It’s been threatening to rain each time we go out, so I haven’t worn new sandals yet, but I’m enjoying getting dressed!

I wore the old tie black neck sleeveless blouse (not exactly chiffon, a drapey poly) with the Banana Republic high waisted wide leg pants I got this winter for a steal. With the white Stella sneak Elyse and a white coach cross body bag. I threw the old olive green jcrew military trench over in case of rain. (Even though it’s not exactly a rain coat.)

I was feeling like the pants looked a little too office-y but with the platform sneakers and drapey top I felt great.

    4. PBanos, my red top and the pants went to ATL vis SAV with my eldest to a wedding when she moved back down there. I wore it once and may never see it again. 11. No J.Crew shopping for me this weekend, but I went crazy with Dr. Martens collaborations. I tracked down the Dr. Martens x Clot 1461s with the red sole at juicestoreusa.com. I’ve been wanting them since the first day they were released. Then I used a 20% off coupon I received from drmartens.com when the shoelaces I ordered were out of stock to buy the newly released Basquiat collaboration. I am a huge fan of his work. I guess I need to sell more shoes on Poshmark to make some room on my shoe racks. 🤦🏼‍♀️

  12. I really searched through the sale section and the new arrivals since the 25% off promo for Canadians ends tonight. I admit I have a huge case of FOMO and not ordering from JCrew for several months. But honestly I didn't see anything that tempted me. Then after a quick search at Todd Snyder I had two items in my basket and hit the checkout button without waiting.

Hard to explain but the old JCrew I used to buy from is different and not what I need (okay let's be honest here, want). But honestly Todd Snyder's offering while more costly than JCrew's just feel better; better made, better fabrics and better designs.

Last week I was in Marshall's and grabbed a few Tommy polos and a pair of Hurley shorts. Two polos, a tee and the shorts came to just over $100. Had a ordered one, just one from JCrew it would have been the same price with shipping.
