J.Crew Reviews {straight from the JCAs!}

This is the weekly "J.Crew Reviews {straight from the JCAs}" post, to help each other share our reviews.

So if you have recently purchased, or stopped by a J.Crew store to try on an item (or two) from J.Crew, maybe you might be willing to share that information with us in this post.

Also, this request is not just limited to clothes. Please feel free to discuss bags, shoes, jewelry, accessories, etc.

In particular, if you could mention a few of the noteworthy details like fit, size, fabric, and the like— that would be fantastic! Thanks in advance! :)

  1. I had a feeling prices would increase after JULY 5 ended and almost posted asking what everyone else thought.
Canvas sporty strap sandals Item AX918 increased in price. I ordered for myself and then showed my mom and ordered for her too on July 4..

Seaside pants in XS did not ship and are now out of stock, so we shall see if they ship,

    1. Morning! Glad sale is over. Was getting tired of looking lol. But yes completely agree prices are back up. If I did not buy at 60 off why would I buy at 30 or even back to reg price! Crazy games and between prices games, cancelled or fanged items? No adjustment and limited return option it’s getting Redicoulus shipping at Jcrew. Every bad interaction with CS takes me further away. Lol

  2. I just looked at the Nordstrom anniversary sale preview for a few minutes. There are 3539 items in the woman’s section so you could really fall down the rabbit hole and spend all day looking. There are 68 Madewell items listed including clothing, bags and jewelry. This year there is no Jcrew and it looks like Nordstrom may be phasing out the brand as there are only 3 items listed on their site currently. This seems concerning to me and does not project confidence in the design direction.

    1. Hi Shopping Celle! I noticed the lack of JCrew items too. I hope it’s not a bad omen.

I thought overall the Anniversary Sale was a bit underwhelming. Seems like brands are putting out safe items and I didn’t really see a lot of trends or a scheme (color or pattern) overall. Makes sense with Covid just a bit disappointing as I like to see the trends each season. I will say the sale has moved into the bland direction the last few years, in my opinion, so maybe Covid just exaggerated that.

    2. @liztriden. Obviously I haven’t had time to really
peruse the sale but I thought the same thing. There are usually several pieces on my wish list to cash in my rewards on but nothing is jumping out to me so far. It may be just the fact that it’s so hot outside and looking at woolens make me sweat.

    3. Random thought. Could it be the JCrew new releases aren’t out yet?

    4. This reflects what I saw in Nordstrom. There is a section for Madewell but I didn't see any J. Crew where it used to be on the sales floor.

  3. Hi everyone. I was lamenting a few months ago that I got off the crew email list and couldn’t get back on. Well, be careful what you wish for, lol! I’m back on and getting 1-2 emails a day! Ahh well.

I finally got around to a sale order last night. I ordered the smocked skirt in bronze moss and 2 vintage tanks in navy and heather gray. A very boring order!

    1. Yes the emails are relentless.

    2. I think the avalanche of Bed, Bath and Beyond email is more annoying.

    3. I def unsubscribed from BB&B. I unsubscribe from most but I want to keep getting Jcrew.
Not sure I need emails reminding me what’s in my cart and random things I might like several times a day though.

    4. Why do companies do that? I don’t even want to hear from my family and friends many times a day.

  4. I got my CANVAS SPORTY STRAP SANDALS Item AX918 in both black and natural and my Saturday sneakers with Liberty trim.
I was concerned about the width of the sandals based on one reviewer but they are totally fine for me. The way that straps are made you can adjust them all. The webbing seems nice, a little less sporty than let’s say a Teva but kind of a crossover. The metal is gold toned but subtle—I couldn’t tell from the pics.
The only negative is that the sole is not a “sport” sole but I think for casual walking the straps make them more supportive than flip flops. The footbed is fabric/leather according to the bottom label.
The sneakers are TTS and cute.
