Sought & Found: Did you visit J.Crew this {past} Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopped by a J.Crew store this past weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store was/ is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

  1. Woke up around midnight and saw the new code but it didn’t work. This morning I’m less enthused about what’s in my cart due to final sale but still contemplating a few things.
AW563 Saturday sneakers with Liberty print detail. Not a serious need but how cute. A friend had the gold trimmed ones but she is a size 5 so everything looks cute.
Aw706 slim fit puff sleeve shirt in stripe. I have been looking at this forever but I have a pile of long sleeve shirts I can’t wear anymore. With a slim fit I usually size up so it fits my shoulders/back and then the torso is loose. But love the red and white. And the sleeves.

Yesterday I ordered desperately needed bras from gap body (no idea if they will fit, I have size issues) and a big order from everlane for pieces I’ve been eyeing that are almost all cotton/linen and nothing final sale.

We went to dinner Saturday night and I realize I gave most of my black pants to my girls. 😆 but having less made it really easy to get dressed, that’s for sure.

Hope everyone had a nice weekend.

    1. I think the shirt is a big risk! And the shoes, while adorable, are not inexpensive enough! I approve of the everlane purchases hahaha, they should really have you modeling for them, you wear their clothes so well. Bras are never easy to buy. Once I find a new one it seems to always have been discontinued when I go back for more years later.

I have said it before and I'll say it again, your girls are most fortunate to have you!

    2. Suz, I bought a few bras on clearance from Gap Body & they worked out great for me. I have trouble finding my size (32B) in department stores & I’m really picky about style & fit. Hope the ones you ordered work out for you.

    3. Gap bras are decent. I been wearing their wireless ones forever! I just recently bought wireless Victoria secret
      https://www.victoriassecret.com/us/vs/bras-catalog/body-by-victoria-5000000051?brand=vs&collectionId=e5997eec-5af5-43eb-8826-dffb07696bd7&limit=180&productId=6b221d5d-97c9-4ee3-8b0d-dd1bd75007d1&stackId=9b269bc5-363e-477a-99a2-00309a91e19a&genericId=11178229&choice=39H6

      Expensive, but fit nice

    4. Hi Suz, I placed an everlane order too. The black barrel jersey pant in small and easy pant in fern. I wear my white barrel pant everyday and now have stained them horribly. Need a backup. What did you get from everlane? I agree with Cherrie, your daughters lucky to have you.

    5. Thanks ladies!
My back has gotten wider from training and my cup certainly does not runneth over, so we shall see. I just really want something that will not gape and not cause me to be in pain, oh and that I can wear with different tank tops—that was really what inspired me to start searching. Style wise, the gap ones I ordered are fine, simple and not fussy.

My Everlane order: I decided to try the retro jersey shorts (XS) and barrel pant (S) and got the retro jersey hoodie to go with, which may be too boxy. We will soon be spending time at a lake cabin and these seemed like versatile options for early morning walks and lounging, over bathing suits, etc.
My all black order Also included the new ribbed cutaway tank(which I might also get in white if I like it),, fatigue barrel pant (could be great or horrible), the linen drape top and the air poet tee (on sale).

I also ordered the invisible high rise thongs to see if they work well with my Alo leggings and high waisted Bottoms.

    6. And Cheritheberry you are right about the sneakers and the puff sleeve top, I’ll wait on those.

    7. @SuzHas, I’m small chested and have a hard time with bras. Years ago someone on this blog recommended Natori Feathers bra and I’ve been buying them since. I just buy the boring beige or white ones lol but they usually have diff colours. I buy them during the Nordstrom anniversary sales as they are usually included. Just in case you’re interested I wanted to mention.

    8. Thank you, Jan, I’ll look. I usually prefer black and nude, nothing crazy.

    9. @kikigirl my Everlane order already shipped—except for the retro jersey shorts and pants that are backordered and should ship end of the week.

    10. Suz, that’s great. My easy pant shipped but the black pants are back ordered until end of week.

    11. Yes, same…the black retro jersey barrel pant and shorts, what I wanted most! Not complaining though.

    1. Huge storms here late last night so I was up when the promo flipped. Of course it would not work for me so I went back to sleep. This morning, two tees I want show up as available but then says out of stock when I try to add to bag. GRRR! There was almost a full size run so I don’t know if this is a glitch or what!

    2. Storms here last night too which woke me up 3am ish and I checked the new promo. A few things that were available in all colors and full size runs are totally gone from my cart and not turning up in a search on JC website. I can find them with a google search (really, J Crew?) but not the tall size. Amused with all these strange little games J Crew plays with prices and hiding merchandise.

    3. I was able to get 2 long sleeve cashmere sweaters at 50% off and no final sale. I was watching the linen pants AV388 throughout the early morning. At first they were $59.50 but I couldn’t add them to my cart. Then an hour later, every tall size in every color disappeared from the site. The classic size is now the only size available for $49.50.

    4. I also got the rose vines PJs, the dreamy tank striped pj set, and the pink cashmere shell. I am going through my pjs and tossing the ones in bad (holy) condition so need replacements. And the cashmere shell... didnt need but the color is so pretty, though I worry about it being sheer since it's the lighter of the two pinks.

  3. Kate! I was thinking of you! Have you by any chance tried the foundry coveralls on? I thought if anyone had it may be you or your daughter. Hope your items come through, I was eyeing those seersucker pants also.

    1. No have not tried! Cute but very hard with overalls/jumpsuit. When you go to bathroom you need to get fully naked lol

    2. I was also contemplating the seersucker pants in the red stripe, but the description and lack of rise measurement gave me pause. They’re not actually seersucker, they’re a knit. Still could be super cute but I just decided not to take a chance right now. I hate bringing final sale stuff back to the store because who knows when they will stop taking them back.

    3. KATE, please report back on those pants! I thought the coordinating square neck top could be cute with it too.

    4. I got them, so I can work form home and still feel like a human for zoom calls. Will report back!

  4. Today I am wearing Classic-fit crisp cotton poplin shirtdress, Item AW560. Yellow stripe. Size down to zero. Pleanty of room! Cute and summary!!! Little see through! Dress was $18 and had to buy proper underwear which was half the price! But lots of compliments!

    1. I was also looking at that in the red and white stripe, which is gone now at least from my saved for later. My issue is my shirt size is so much bigger than my bottom size, I feel like the shoulders would be tight and there would be way too much fabric below, so I didn’t take a chance. Glad it’s cute and the yellow was a steal.

  5. I wanted to get a pair of shorts now that they're on sale. The site says full size run in the color I want. BUT I CANNOT ADD TO CART. so forget it. I'm so annoyed at these games.

    2. I can’t seem to log in or add anything to my bag! Anyone else having issues.

    3. I could not log around 2am. But ok this morning
I was considering the espadrilles but they would not add to cart so I took it as sign of not needing!

I am still waiting for 2 liberty shirts

Classic-fit popover shirt in Liberty® Mauvey floral
      Item AY655
Classic-fit short puff-sleeve top in Liberty® Patchwork Dream floral
      Item AY706

      Hoping for pop backs!!!

    1. Yes, I’m giving up on getting anymore promos. It’s been 3 months since a promo and that was after they promised improved shipping etc. Super disappointing.

  7. Hi everyone. I stopped in Friday evening for a return. My daughter ordered a couple of dresses with birthday money and they were a huge miss. What is happening with crewcuts!! The cuts of the dresses were so bad and one dress had a keyhole down the middle of the chest like she’s a grown woman going out. Ridiculous!! So my daughter ended up with one dress and one bathing suit. My kids wear almost exclusively jcrew, except for jeans only because the gap offers jeans in slim size. I’ve noticed a decline over the last few months of stuff we ordered. I hope this isn’t a trend. Place that bathing suit order this morning and threw in the parke linen blazer because the price was reduced and it will be a great topper for an upcoming vacay. I tried in before in white, returned it because it was full price, and now ordered the flax color at a good price. It will look great with all my summer eyelet dresses and jeans and a white top.

The only thing I have my eye on from the new rollout is the button down in annelise floral. Really love that print!

  8. Oh! One more thing. My credit still hasn’t posted from Friday. I know they say it can take a few days, but usually mine posts in 24 hours. 3 days later and still waiting!

  9. Full disclosure: I broke my shopping ban that had been successful since March. I ordered the green linen Parke blazer. Need? No, of course not. Why? It wasn't final sale, and I thought it would look nice with my green Gucci bit loafers that I don't wear that often. I love the color of those shoes, and I think it will work with the blazer. At least I can return it if it's not everything I hope it will be. I need to love it.

On a separate note....Although I donated almost all of my purge, I did send five things to The Real Real: a Burberry trench, two Lotuff satchels, and two Barbour jackets. The handbags sold immediately, the trench was just listed, and the Barbour jackets are "accepted" but not listed yet. This is my first experience selling with them. So far, so good. It's easier than messing with all that is involved with selling another way--at least for me. This was a test, so perhaps I'll consider selling more through them.

    1. Love Real Real. I haven’t sold through them but big fan of their resale designer goods. ☺️

    2. Sounds like a thoughtful purchase! Hope it works out!

      Delete
    3. Can you let me know how it works out with RealReal? I have a few designer things that I want to consign and I've only ever tried Thredup (bad) and Poshmark (meh). What's their cut?

      Delete
    4. @eeps: It's probably best if you look at their site because your commission rate depends on a few things (price of the item, how much you've sold through them, and whether you want a check or a credit with them, etc.). All of my items were priced by them above $300, so my commission was 55%. It can be much higher the higher value the item is, such as a handbag that sells for $3,000. That might be at 70%.

I've not sold anything online through anyone else because TRR does all of the work. Your items have to be on their approved designer list. You get a free shipping label from them, they let you know it has been received, accepted, listed, and then when it's sold. They do the photography, pricing, and shipping to the customer.

A customer has 21 days to return an item, so that's when they will pay you your commission--after the 21 days from date of sale.

I didn't have to deal with anything, so it's worth it to me to let them have almost half of the selling price.

    5. That blazer looks lovely! Sounds like a thoughtful purchase and the colour is unique. I believe it’s the green one that @mygoddy bought which looks amazing. Hope that it works out for you.
