J.Crew Reviews {straight from the JCAs!}

This is the weekly "J.Crew Reviews {straight from the JCAs}" post, to help each other share our reviews.

So if you have recently purchased, or stopped by a J.Crew store to try on an item (or two) from J.Crew, maybe you might be willing to share that information with us in this post.

Also, this request is not just limited to clothes. Please feel free to discuss bags, shoes, jewelry, accessories, etc.

In particular, if you could mention a few of the noteworthy details like fit, size, fabric, and the like— that would be fantastic! Thanks in advance! :)

  1. I tried four Everlane swim pieces and wanted to report back.
The square neck bikini top ran a little small on me, I felt like a character in Bridgerton, but in a size up it would probably be great
The triangle bikini top was super flattering. (Although now I look and see I only got one size and ordered two…so not sure which it was.)
I was less crazy about the bottoms. I didn’t love the cut of the high rise one (legs need to be higher cut to work, IMO) and the bikini bottom was very similar to the jcrew surf bikini bottom I have.

My big (Everlane) order still has not gotten here and stopped tracking on June 24. Very frustrating because it was a large order and id like to return what doesn’t work quickly, for expedited shipping it’s been over a week since I ordered, so thanks Narvar. Jcrew isn’t alone with shipping issues.

Also reporting back on the Gap bras. I wore the multi-way tshirt one ALL DAY yesterday with a tank and didn’t want to rip it off once.
The breathe wireless ones are too small I realized, I can’t do the straps convertible, they are not long enough, so even though it’s comfortable those are going back. And I tried on the everyday smooth multi-way again and I’m not sure why I felt it squished everything, I think it’s ok, though it would not work as a strapless, it wouldn’t stay up by itself, but that’s not really an issue, so I may keep that one too.
Finally, the gap no show thong are so comfortable. I feel like they run a little small (I got small and I’m usually a 0 in bottoms) but they were invisible under my leggings and didn’t shift while I exercised which happens sometimes.

    1. So it was the medium triangle top I received. I have to check the size chart but I feel like the suits run small, or maybe it’s how they’re cut. I felt like I almost wanted a medium in the bottoms too and they say they run TTS.

I contacted CS about my missing item and rather than ask she ordered another one, i then Canceled the order and asked for credit to my card for the missing item!

I was also asked to wait another FIVE business days for the large order, which seems excessive. I’m not going to want any of it when it finally gets here!

    2. My everlane pants order is late too. UPS mail innovations strikes again.
I’m glad the swim top worked out. I liked the triangle style. It’s very flattering.

    3. None of my J Crew orders are tracking correctly. The tracking isn’t updating at all. Hate UPS mail innovations but since its free shipping I can’t really complain.

    4. Well, it makes sense that my Everlane order was delayed. It arrived today with the box torn open and the whole and edges taped up, THANKS Usps. What I tried on I didn’t like. The fatigue barrel pants fit but did nothing for me, the shape was bla. I did like the fabric though. The air poet shirt hung and was gigantic in size small. The new ribbed tank with the shoulder cut outs just didn’t work for me either. The fabric was nice and thick but it wasn’t flattering.
I’m waiting for another size in the jersey barrel pants and shorts, but I think the shorts may be fine in XS if I pull them down an inch.

I don’t think I’m keeping the bathing suit tops, since it was really bottoms I needed.

I have to double check, I def think a few items are missing.

    5. Ugh!!! That sucks. My package was routed to a wrong post office. Not sure when it will arrive at my home.

    6. Everlane dealt with it immediately. Very good customer service. They already sent replacements.

  2. As for Jcrew, 60 off, meh. I like the canvas sport strap sandals but one reviewer says the straps were too short to even close. So $40 final sale is still too much of a risk, IMO.

    1. I went thru all the 60% off pages this AM, considered those sandals too for a brief moment. Didn't see anything I was willing to "risk" except maybe the liberty square scarf for $8.80. Forcing myself to be way choosier about final sale as I usually get burned more often than not. Almost bit on all the reduced cashmere but not a fan of the newer styling where many of the sweaters have side slits (rather than a continuous banded hem), looks sloppy on me to have the sweater all loose at the hem like that unless I want to front tuck it.

    2. I also don’t love that hem. I forgot I had one of those scarves in my cart but it definitely wasn’t there earlier. So maybe it’s gone.

  3. I picked up the Nantucket halter top recently. Print is very cute, but definitely cherry pick for pattern placement. I tried one on that had a ship wheel over my boob ;-). Material is very thin, though. Not quality, unfortunately, but cute!

    1. is that the light blue and white lighthouse print? i saw the dress version in the store. i thought it was cute but would prefer it in a skirt... just because i worried where certain elements would fall if worn as a top.

  4. Additional sale was still very mehhhh. I decided to get the chino shorts with the embroidered hearts - I considered them at 50% off but wasn't completely sold on the hearts, but the price now is >$20 so I figured why not. Maybe from a distance they will look more like polka dots - could be cute with a striped shirt. While I was checking out, I noticed I actually still have stuff in my saved for later list, and the striped cashmere sweater in navy/fuschia still had my size and was part of the promo even though it said it wasn't (I also didn't see it in the sale section?). I was about to buy one of those solid cashmere crewnecks even though I wasn't thrilled about the only color left in my size but figured for $35.50, I'd wear it under a blazer. I added the striped cashmere sweater to my cart and right before I checked out, I went through my pile of cashmere and realized that the same solid color cashmere sweater I was about to buy - I already have the same color in the double-V style. So in the end, just the shorts and the striped cashmere, and I got to use my rewards. Can't complain about a cashmere sweater for >$45.

    1. I am wearing those shorts today. Love them. With jcrew silk T-shirt. WFH. Lol. I am so mad I bought them with 50off, I should of waited. I am scared to reorder since returns are changing as no adjustments ughh

  5. Wondering what the status is of J Crew Collection. Anybody know if the line will continue or not or what might be coming next? There are very few items in it but the silk twill is a lovely fabric. The washed black leather jacket seems to endure season after season and I understand why … it is gorgeous and timeless, I still love mine. It would be sad to lose the special fabrics and quality of Collection but I guess they have to offer what customers are buying.
