Sought & Found: Did you visit J.Crew this {past} Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopped by a J.Crew store this past weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store was/ is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

  1. Over the last few years I’ve been on the hunt for a high waisted black short that wasn’t tight on the legs. I’ve bought a bunch of JCrew versions and bought and returned every Everlane version that was released until I got the Way High canvas short today.
I tried them with different shirts and shoes and they work well causally with sneakers or flat sandals or slightly dressed up with a button down and the Steve Madden Marco flatform sandals I just got. There are front and back pockets similar to the everlane wide leg crop, but the rise is a little higher with two smaller buttons which looks nice. The length is a little less than 5” which is longer than normal for me but the way they are cut I think they are flattering.

Sizing advice: Previously I sized down in most of my everlane jeans (after finding the size chart corresponding size was too big) but lately I’m following the size chart. I tried these in two sizes and prefer the larger—hopefully they don’t stretch out too much but that was never an issue with my wide leg crops and the fabrication seems the same.
The only thing I would have preferred was if they were a true canvas and didn’t have the stretch but I’m hoping the looser size keeps them feeling comfortable and airy even though the canvas is a thicker twill.
I have already donated/sold a bunch of shorts and have moved more to my “purgatory” closet.
For $50 these fill a big hole in my wardrobe this summer and take the place of hundreds of dollars of shorts I can’t wear anymore.
They only come in black and Ash Brown which looks like taupe to me.

  2. Greetings everyone, Hope you’re all out and about and enjoying the “new normal”. There will be a large summer launch for Jcrew tomorrow. I myself haven’t purchased anything from them for quite awhile as I’ve had lots of choices and great deals here. I do however look forward to seeing this rollout because up until now things in my opinion have been unattractive and downright boring. Sending lots of love to all xxx

    4. @kikigrl, ruffles, thank you for asking. Every time I see your username I think of Kiki Ballet flats🥰 I wore the navy and green captoe ones the other day recently with AQ387 the Navy/Green tipped cardigan. They both were a hit here. I love wearing something no one else has over here😂

    5. Haha glad my username ballet flats were a hit. Kiki was my first cat’s name. 😘 I looked at the website since I woke up. None of the images are loading. Hope it gets better in the am.

    6. Good to see you here again, Lynn. I've been on a self-imposed shopping fast since March, and J.Crew has made it easy for me. The clothes have been mostly drab and shapeless. I suppose it's much less costly to produce things with little tailoring and darts and such. That just doesn't work for me.

  3. Hi again ladies, all is well. Recuperated but not hitting tennis balls quite yet😂 Weather has been up and down and must say it’s been jeans and a-lot of great vintage Jcrew stuff from years ago many pieces which I will wear for the first time with the temperatures rising. Staying up late to see what will come up online. Hoping Jcrew will knock out some brilliant colors for a change as I’ve seen a lot of bright pinks, greens and blues here. Of course black which never goes away even in summer. Have a great evening and keeping fingers crossed for some beautiful pieces. I’m sure everyone is feeling the same.

    2. Thanks Lynn for the update. I'm up working so I will definitely check out the "newness" throughout the night. And hopefully the few things that I have been stalking will fall into the forever- sale category!

  4. @Rashwanda, I hope the website displays images. Noticed this with previous launches. I have a feeling there are boatloads of items sitting in Lynchburg that at some point they will have to unload. Perhaps not now but around the 4th July. Then again whoever thought the company would have so many rock bottom priced sales this year and caught many of us by surprise. Another thought, I’m sure prices are going to up overall. Inflation and postal rates will be a factor. Have a nice evening and don’t work too hard.
