This is the weekly "Help Style Me!" post, where we can share items we are having trouble putting outfits together with. Elaine (in this
post) says it best, "You know, that thing you
bought because you love it and you keep pulling it
out and then putting it away without wearing it?"
Please
share your J.Crew item (either that you own or
are thinking about getting) that you would love help
creating an outfit with.
Also,
please help out by offering your styling advice. Feel
free to include links to your blog (where you
incorporated that piece) or to Polyvore (where you
showcased an outfit with that piece). Thanks in advance!
:)
I have my eye on a few things but with full size runs available for everything, this rollout doesn’t seem to be moving so I’ll wait for the next good promo. Overall, a very meh Spring at J Crew IMO. I like the looser-fit pants and linen pieces but they have really gone all in on baggy styles in muted, solid colors. My closet doesn’t need much of that at this point. I also look at all of those matched sets, cottagecore dresses, and sweatshirts and I know 100% I never want to see those again post-COVID.
ReplyDeleteI been looking at au217. Honey comb cashmere sweater!
ReplyDeleteI am usually xs. Only small available! Anyone own this sweater and can comment! Reviews say runs large!! Any help appreciated
Hi Kate I have that sweater in the darker color (muslin?) I'm usually a M in all my JC sweaters and I bought the small based on the reviews saying it was oversized. The S fits but just feels a bit narrow across the shoulders for me (I'm tall and have broad shoulders). I just checked on mine and flat measurement on the Small are 21" underarm to underarm and 24" center back length. Definitely oversized.
DeleteThanks so much!!!! I appreciate it! I may need XS
DeleteDo you like it? Worth the money ?
It's really thick and cozy, very soft. Mine got a few tiny pills on the sides after 2-3 wears, but those are easily dealt with. Only thing I would change is I wish it were just a standard crewneck rather than the pseudo mock neck kind of neckline it has.
DeleteNot really a "help me" but I'm wondering if anyone has any opinion about Brendon Babenzien's hire as new director for the men's line. I have been pretty bored by JC the last two sesasons (loved last summer) and am also wondering what the plans are for the women's line...
ReplyDeleteI’ve been thinking the same looking ahead to fall. I’m wondering if the lush cashmere, tweeds and usual fare will be there or if it will be unrecognizable. In my opinion, Fall is where Jcrew really shines.
DeleteIsn't a design team doing the women's line? Or is it someone who used to work at Anthropologie? Or was she before Chris Benz?
DeleteI’m foreseeing a lot more time on Poshmark. A lot.
DeleteI think of these recent rollouts as the "Covid Collection."
DeleteYes, I was also wondering what the influence of his tenure at Supreme will be on the men’s line. Goodbye Ludlow, hello hoodies? Very different streetwear aesthetic, though he is quoted as saying he does not intend to “re-brand” J Crew.
