Can you please assist? Jcrew Schoolboy Wool blazer from 2013. Have a friend that’s interested in one and would like to know about sizing please. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteI just looked at my 2 schoolboy wool blazers...one from SP13 and one FA14. They are both size 6T. The 2014 is just a touch longer in the body, which is good. Schoolboy fit overall is consistent with my JC blazer sizing...I'm 5'10", 36A so a 6T is perfect and looks like it was made for me. If I can't get a 6T I have a linen one in an 8 which fits me (8 is good for me in Regent blazer too). Schoolboy definitely has a shorter length than more recent blazers which have trended to a longer "boyfriend" fit, but it's NOT "cropped" by any means. I haven't worn mine in a while, but they are in the basement cedar closet because the wool and construction is so beautiful I can't bear to part with them. I probably will give them a whirl this winter :).
DeleteI’m pretty sure I had several I sold. Let me check something.
DeleteI find them short and boxy. Body length just over 25” for a size 4.
I have 2 in size 2 and the shoulders fit snug. When I bought others I sized up to a 4 which made the body more boxy. For me they hit the top of my hip bone.
I still have a few and happy to answer any questions (or sell size 2s!)
@Julielion96, Suz Has, thank you both so very very much for providing such wonderful details. Judging from your details my friend would require a size 6 for the chest area. Thanks so much again and I would have purchased one for her had you had the size she needed.
DeleteHappy to help!
DeleteI have the school boy from around that year in a size 4. My older Hacking jacket is a size 2. I think I bought the 4 for the shoulder area even though my shoulders aren’t very broad. I haven’t worn it in ages, thank you for reminding me about it. It’s a really lovely blazer, good quality.
DeleteI have a few size 6 Schoolboys from that era. I'm a 34E currently (was a 32E when I wore them regularly) and they are a bit tight in the shoulders, definitely need an 8 these days. I'm 5'8" and the length is good with me but they are cut shorter than the Regent blazers as others noted.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much. She was looking for the Miltary Style Blazer. After your posts she may need an 8. She is France I will speak with her this evening and ask what she wants to do. Thanks so much
DeleteHave any of you purchased the Ratti Collage Print Blouse? Am I the one? It’s so pretty and no I don’t look like an Easter Egg. Poly is nice no wrinkles at least:)
ReplyDeleteLynn, I was curious about that item, but had already bought the dress in the same print as final sale! The dress is gorgeous but the blouse might have been more versatile... I certainly don't need both, though. Now I am seeing there is also a lovely trench coat (AQ323) in the same print! I wish they would stop with the gradual rollouts/hidden new arrivals. Especially for items like these which are so spring-like, why is there a rush to get them out piecemeal this fall instead of releasing them all together next season? I hate that my joy over the print is a bit tempered by doubts that I picked the right piece for me, not knowing the other options were coming later.
DeleteThis is how companies get you to buy more! And this is how I ended up with a pair of silk pants and then five more items I didn't need in the ivy shale print...
Delete@Alyssa, thank you for the reply. I understand how you feel. I have the dress too and I will wear it through fall and winter. I will however, be in St. Barth’s for this winter and expect to get a lot of wear out of both items. I wouldn’t mind having pants in this print too! Have a nice weekend.
DeleteThe open-front cardigan jacket is a winner AQ331. I like that it's a bit textured and has slightly more structure than the juliette sweater. I purchased in grey and sized down to a small and the fit on me is a little closer than shown on the model (guessing my regular size would fit like the model's size) - arms are not too tight and I can layer a long sleeve tee underneath. I like that it lays nice on my curves without having any split seams. I'm wearing it today with a black scoop neck bodysuit, dark Madewell curvy skinny jeans and cognac colored booties. Definitely contemplating a second color!
ReplyDeleteAlso, not sure if this was already mentioned but I noticed there is a section of final sale items at 60% off and the 20% CARDLOVE seems to be stacking.
