J.Crew Reviews {straight from the JCAs!}

This is the weekly "J.Crew Reviews {straight from the JCAs}" post, to help each other share our reviews.

So if you have recently purchased, or stopped by a J.Crew store to try on an item (or two) from J.Crew, maybe you might be willing to share that information with us in this post.

Also, this request is not just limited to clothes. Please feel free to discuss bags, shoes, jewelry, accessories, etc.

In particular, if you could mention a few of the noteworthy details like fit, size, fabric, and the like— that would be fantastic! Thanks in advance! :)

  1. Has anyone tried Pleated wide-leg pant in silk twill
    Item AQ520

I love a full length wide leg pant and could use a lighter weight one. Curious if these are as light as the silk twill pajama pants. Reviews are mixed and it’s impossible to tell from the website pics.

    2. Thank you, did you find they ran big as some reviewers mentioned? I was going to stick with my larger pant size anyway because I don’t want them tight in the hips. I was hoping to find a pair in store but no such luck.

    4. I’m waiting a little to order! I have a feeling prices will go down, I’m just taking inventory!

    5. I’m guessing that you’re looking at black lol although the pink would be very pretty.

    6. 😂 💖 after my red pant experiment I am mostly sticking with black (or somewhat muted) pants, I don’t own anything that color, although I admire on others.

    7. Lol I have quite a few coloured pants (cafe capris) that just sit in my closet. The black looks elegant, hopefully you can try them when they aren’t final sale.

    8. Well considering they’re higher $ today I won’t be trying them just yet!

  2. OT, does anyone have an extra 15% off coupon they’re not going to use? I never received one...

  3. Had to make a return so visited my local store. It was nice to see pretty blazers. Some unusual herringbone colors, purple, gold, blue and green (muted). New pixie in an almost shiny twill for those who like leggings but want pants. A super long cardigan with an abstract leopard print. Would be nice in solid although there is some poly. New liberty prints are very bold in color, some dark backgrounds with almost fluorescent pink and purples.
Sale was extra 50 off. Nothing I wanted but there were a few pretty prints and some leftover summer stuff. A classic denim jacket in a retro wash (not distressed) that Id consider if I needed another!

One thing I noticed. None of the jackets were steamed. Not sure if they were just put out but they could use a steaming!

  4. I received the Sadie pointed toe boot in brown (warm sepia I believe) and could use some advice. The back of both boots each has a spot where the leather looks to be Rubbed off or maybe just a defective pair? It’s so weird. Makes me worry if another pair will be risky, if the leather is that fragile. Does anyone have these or has anyone seen them IRL? TIA

    1. I have not seen them in person but in the pic someone posted in reviews they look really flattering. Is the mark on the heel of the boot or on the shaft? Does it look like dye rubbed off? You can always reach out to CS and mention it.

    2. The dye looks rubbed off (but no scratches just colour missing). It’s on the back of the shaft on each boot. There is a seam down the back of the boot and this mark /lack of colour is pretty noticeable on both. Can colour rub off on leather that easily?

    3. Sounds like a manufacturing defect. If you have a local shoe repair place they can fix it. I’d ask Crew For a credit for that.

  5. OT but I saw an article about JCrew now that they are out of bankruptcy. It mentioned the following... their strategy will be focused on “three core pillars: delivering a focused selection of iconic, timeless products; elevating the brand experience to deepen our relationship with customers; and prioritizing frictionless shopping”. Hhhmmm I wonder what a focused selection will mean, if they’ll offer less styles over all. Also wondering what the restructuring will mean for promos (not that Canada really gets any) but the US has had crazy promos which I assume they want to get away from.
