This is the weekly "Other JCrew-like Retailers" post (similar to the "Off On A Tangent"
posts), where we can share our finds from other
retailers that have offerings similar to J.Crew
(like Anthropologie, LE Canvas, Gap, BR, Talbots, Ann
Taylor, and the like.)
If you
have recently encountered items that are similar to
J.Crew, maybe you might be
willing to share that information with us
in this post.
Please feel
free to share your story on almost any topic—
including experiences with certain merchandise pieces,
promotions/ offers, in-store visits,
transactions with store associates, etc.
I placed two orders during Everlanes sitewide 25 percent off sale. Under the circumstances, I’m not in any rush although I mostly got tshirts in my first order, which finally shipped after over two weeks.
ReplyDeleteLast week I did get notification that my order would ship within five to ten days and new orders would be processed but the 25 percent off sale slammed them.
My second order, however, which is a bunch of daygloves is delayed until May.
I don’t mind the delay and I could easily cancel the whole order, but these shoes are never really on sale so selfishly this is as good a time as any to try them.
I feel for retailers. On social media people are so rude about the delays. As long as I’m not changed until my order ships, does it really matter?
Everlane posted on Instagram that they were understaffed but things are improving and they're working on the backlog. Besides, they clearly mentioned the shipping delay on their website. How can anyone be upset??
ReplyDeletePeople are nuts. I don’t have any other explanation that makes sense. I also really feel for them regarding the unionizing. So many people would say things about them being union busters or whatever. Who knows the full story. Recently they furloughed some of their at home workers and had in store workers doing customer service and people complained about that too. I mean ALL retail laid off workers. It seemed to me that they were trying to solve a problem creatively.
DeleteI don’t know their story, just like I don’t know all the details about amazon and instacart etc.
Agreed about the unionizing. The unemployment situation is bad no doubt ... but retailers are going under too. You can't squeeze blood from a stone.
ReplyDeleteUnlike a lot of woke-shoppers, I won't boycott Everlane for their supposed union-busting. They're not abusing their employees. If the pay isn't good then they're free to work elsewhere.
