This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale
items at our
various local J.Crew stores. ;)
If
you are stopping
by a J.Crew store this weekend to see
what's available (if
anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in
person, maybe you might be
willing to share that with us in this
post. In particular, if you could
share with us a few of the
noteworthy items that are available, at
what prices, and potential sizes
the store is carrying (as well
as the store location)- that would be
fantastic!
Also,
please let us know if your local store is
carrying an additional percent
off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)
P.S.
I noticed that many of
you have already been reporting sale
items (and in which stores) in
other posts which by the way "thank
you!" :) I really appreciate how
helpful we are for each other!
My recent order came yesterday. For reference I’m 5’6” and a size 6/8.
ReplyDeleteLove the leopard perfect rain jacket. Such a cute pattern and good sizing (ordered M).
7/8 high rise leggings in safari. If you have short legs, these will be too long. They’re full length on me. They don’t have the support/hold of leggings of years past, but would be good underneath a tunic or for bed.
Love the relaxed joggers in terry. The terry is on the inside. I got white and indigo, which is not a navy but not a bright blue either. Nice high rise and TTS (I got M).
Crew neck pullover in cotton terry in summer hyacinth in L. I wanted it oversized and it is. The color is fabulous and not the hue online.
Lastly, I got the zip up seaside pants in Loren size 8. They correspond with the description online in regards to measurements and fabric. They remind me of the weekender pants from a few years back. I couldn’t go down to a 6 probably even with the elastic back bc the front zip makes them less forgiving in terms of sizing. I like them but wouldn’t pay full price (I didn’t).
thanks ...I was wondering about the seaside pants. they are final sale on Canadian site.
DeleteHappy to help! Hate the final sale curse!
DeleteThis is off topic, but does anyone have a personal recommendation for a place I could buy a washable/reusable cloth mask? (Not able to sew my own, know the no-sew bandanna trick). If you have one you've picked up that you've actually comfortably worn for at least a few hours at a time, let me know!
ReplyDeleteEtsy has several shops offering them.
Delete
DeleteI know but the options are overwhelming, and I’m sure quality varies, so looking for personal recommendations
There's been a lively trade of information about face masks on Next Door, if you're on that. You'd be buy from local people who you might actually know, and you can see what they're selling. Most people are charging minimal fees ($3) to cover materials and doing it more as a community help effort. I sent a friend there (we live in Winston Salem) and she bought some masks for elderly friends to use when grocery shopping.
DeleteI ordered one from here: https://shopcamp.com/ made in san francisco and they look really good
Deletehere are a bunch of good options: https://nymag.com/strategist/article/best-fabric-masks-to-buy-online.html
DeleteI ordered and received 3 from Los Angeles Apparel. They're decent enough, $30 for 3, the straps go behind your head/neck instead of behind your ears.

ReplyDeleteHello, I am desperately seeking the multitiered popover dress in raffi jardin item number AK263. Anyone see this or know where I can find an item? I need a size small.
ReplyDeleteThank you
I'd stalk the website every AM early and look for a return that pops up.
DeleteReceived the navy pink tipped Boyfriend sweater-blazer AK185 in my usual S. This is a lovely sweater that will pair with a lot of items in my wardrobe, if we ever go back to work. Perfect mid weight. I'm trying to find returns in my purchases from the recent sales and am having a hard time. It is loose fit, but drapey and looks nice. Could size down if you are in-between.
ReplyDeleteMy recent J. Crew Factory order arrived yesterday. I got the Striped Teddie sweater, green/white gingham shorts, and a pair of basic black shorts. I think these are classic pieces that I'll wear for a few years.
ReplyDeleteHas J.Crew extended the return policy? I don't see anything on the website. I ordered the pull-on slip skirt in wavy dots and in olive, as well as a cashmere crewneck sweater in heather gray, sometime in February, and had them shipped to my work address. Both were delivered in mid-March after access to my office was restricted. I have no idea when I will be able to retrieve these items.
ReplyDeleteExtended to 60 days. You can find it under the little COVID message at the very top of the webpage.
DeleteI have the same issue with 2 items that were delivered to my office after I had access to it. One I know is a return. The other I'm hoping works. But either way, I'm resigned to the fact I might have to just accept store credit for those.
Thank you! I somehow missed the COVID message.
DeleteReceived an order yesterday.
ReplyDeleteSequin watermelon stripe dress. Ordered my usual size and fit is tts. You can size down with the elastic waist. The waist sits high; if you look at the model pictures, the photo is accurate. The gingham fits the same way. Not sure whether I'll keep them.
Sequin watermelon stripe sleeveless top. Fit tts and this is a keeper for sure. Well be a fresh look with white shorts and denim.
Sequin midi skirt in bright pink. This is a bubblegum/neon pink. It wasn't what I expected in terms of the color. I sized down and it works just fine.
Sequin gingham tops in blue and pink. Fit is tts. The arms are more fitted on me than the model (no surprises there). Not sure if the front tuck, like the model, is going to work. Need to play around with that styling option. Shirt can be fully tucked into a skirt. Tried this with the natural sequin midi skirt and it works just fine.
Vintage cotton tanks in brilliant sunset and neon flamingo. I love these tanks and own several colors. Fit is tts. Sunset is more muted and isn't the same color as the linen blend shorts. Will keep them; they were a steal @ $8.
Weekday tee. Fit tts. I really like the navy background and the colors are versatile and fun. Pairs nicely with denim shorts and the brilliant sunset linen blend shorts.
Overall, happy with purchases.
thanks for the reviews. I love sequins. i hope you can post photos ob your Instagram... love to see the pairings of above.
DeleteAll those sequins are sound so fun! I just love the watermelon stripe and gingham pieces.
Delete@unknown, shopgrrrl, and pbanos thanks so much! My love affair with sequins continues. I will try to post reviews on my IG this week. I"ll post a note here when I do. WFH, I haven't done much in the way of tryons or dressing up. Mostly lounge/sweat bottoms and a blouse with pearls, so I look professional on BlueJeans (just like Zoom) meetings.
Delete@pbanos, I looked at that top and really liked it. Decided to wait and now JC has jacked up the price (Geez). Noticed more of that today after the "magic hour." Agree that with the store closures, summer sales should be awesome. I have so many returns to make, so hoping stores re-open the first or second week in May. If not, i'll mail them back.
Ordered rugby sweater blazer for $22, superplush half-zip sherpa in neon pink for $15 and slim boyfriend denim in baltic sky wash for $28. Of course, all are marked up now with the new promo, SMH.
I have that sherpa, I think I paid a whopping $17 when I ordered. I wore it a bunch when it was still cold here, it's very warm , light and soft. Also very very pink. I washed it yesterday, quick fluff in dryer (5 min) then let it air dry. Looks pretty good.
DeleteI got the boyfriend cashmere hoodie. I sized up to a medium and I’m glad I did. (I vary between XS/S in tops often sizing up for length or my muscles). It’s a nice weight and not itchy.
ReplyDeleteAlso ordered a bunch of turtlenecks. One daughter already put on the green. She didn’t love the orange although she asked for that color, but for layering it’s fine.
You are my sequin hero, thanks for the reviews. I have the dress, and agree it is short waisted. But so am I, so it works for me. But it is also long, so a petite would likely need to shorten it. The sequin top and midi skirt sounds like a nice combination. By summer, so sadly, clothing will be on super clearance so maybe I will pick them up yet.
ReplyDeleteI ordered last years navy blouse with sequin balloon sleeves when the price hit $13.50. I was sorry to put it away for next fall.
I've been wearing jeans and sweaters to WFH, but maybe next week I will move into skirts and dresses to change things up.
It's the magic hour and the Kiki ballet flats in satin are just over $21. I'm resisting, reminding myself I'm trying to avoid extraneous purchases since I know the shipping systems are overburdened with far more essential packages, workers are stressed, who really needs shoes when I shouldn't be leaving the house, fabric shoes are prone to stains/fraying, a return by mail would be a pain, etc. But dang, that deal is tempting.
ReplyDeleteI have house-only shoes that I wear as slipper alternatives. Plus take along when we visit others in bad weather and I want to change for inside. Well, back when we did visit others.
DeleteDid you buy a pair?
Wow I missed that! I’ll be honest, I don’t find my kikis all that comfortable. And with my wood floors I’d rather wear softer soles in the house. I’m hoping my Everlane day gloves will be good house shoes. Sneakers are too clunky and confined. I’m barefoot a lot, socks are kind of dangerous. I have a pair of uggs slippers my daughter gave up that have been constants. I wish I got a pair of the driving Mocs in red.
DeleteThe driving mocs have been my #1 house shoe since lockdown. I have red & blue from when they we $15! So soft.
DeleteDamn I don’t think I ever saw the red that low. I got the pink but the color looked terrible against my skin.
DeleteI was all over the magic hour, great deals!! But I have not needed anything but jeans and T-shirt’s recently, as I switched to scrubs and sneakers at work! I did but the Mick neck sweater $12 and cashmere hat for $8
ReplyDeleteLots of great prices on coats and other cashmere.... but I helps me off... lol.... hope everyone is well and staying safe...
What time is the magic hour? Thanks
DeleteAmazing deals today, like the Barn Jacket for $59.50. I was waiting for a good promo to buy it and this is even better than I expected. Also got great reviews so I ordered it. I find shipping is a bit slower but that is to be expected. Plus it’ll be another month before I can wear the jacket in my northern climate,
ReplyDeleteI think those are adorable too!
DeleteReviews are mixed here but I like the red one and I’m tempted. It does look waxy but I think that’s the point. What color did you order?
DeleteI’m also tempted by the mossy brown. I had this color and sold it and miss it. For someone like me who loves black it’s a good alternative.
Delete@suzhas I ordered the mossy brown. I also have been thinking about the red version but as I recently bought the blazer with contrast stitch in red (which can also be worn as a jacket) I went for mossy brown.
DeleteAfter contemplating all day I ordered both mossy brown and red. I had a mossy brown one previously (or a very similar color that was a cross between brown, gray and olive) and sold it when I got my black one, which I ended up selling...
DeleteI ended up not loving the black. I know I paid more than $60 for each of those so willing to take a chance on these.
I have a red linen schoolboy that’s a little tight across the shoulders and I’ve been looking for a more casual spring replacement. I also like the contrast stitch but wanted more casual.
I did not use rewards which just appeared just in case.
I've placed a few orders over the past few weeks and received most this week. I ordered the dark grey Camille sweater blazer and attempted to get a price adjustment on it when the price dropped a few days later. CS more or less said they didn't care if I returned and rebought and they waived the return shipping for the more expensive one. Oh well. I thought it could save them a step but I guess not. I'm sure CS is stretched and stressed so I'm not going to push it. I am not sure how the waived shipping will happen so I may just put the email in the return box and will likely schedule a post office pick up for the item.
ReplyDeleteRe: sizing of the blazer, I'm a 6/8 on top, most usually a medium these days and I have smalls in the original merino sweater blazers and XS in the Juliette sweater blazer. I went with a small in this. It's still a little oversized which is fine, mostly in the sleeves. I cuffed the sleeves and like the look. I'm not sure an XS would have worked. This will be in my regular wfh rotation of leggings, tees and sweater coats.
I also bought a pair of the blue light glasses when they were on sale for $20, they're a tad small for my face but will do the trick while I've been glued to a screen all week. Also picked up a grey boatneck painter tee and a pair of the 10" white jeans. I'm still having trouble buying things for "later" since that's pretty vague in terms of how work and social events are going to play out in the next several months so shopping for my current state works for me.
OT from J.Crew, can't remember if I posed this but I paused my Rent the Runway unlimited subscription and they reached out asking if I wanted to keep the four items for the month for $40. I imagine they're doing whatever they can to keep people so I took them up on the offer, tried a few pairs of jeans and some sweaters.
I ordered the tipped boyfriend sweater blazer in navy with the pink/white trim. I was looking for items to return, but this one is too nice. I'm not wearing my structured blazers, but this sweater version is versatile. I got my usual 'S' and it is pretty roomy. Think it looks better on the too loose rather than snug side.
DeleteSince many of us have been home and not dressing as usual, I’ll ask what’s something you don’t see yourself buying again?
ReplyDeleteI’ll say, definitively I will not buy another stiletto or skinny heel. I don’t mind chunky or block heels but don’t wear skinny heels anymore.
I’ll also have to stop myself from buying anymore toothpick jeans. As it is I have a love hate relationship with them but as I’m wearing more comfortable clothes, I realize I don’t really like anything tight on my thighs. I just sold a pair on Poshmark today. I have a few I like and will keep because I do find they’re good to wear in the winter especially but won’t buy more.
Finally, tight tshirts or sweaters, except for layering. I’m reaching for my comfy white cotton tees under sweaters right now. I haven’t taken my cashmere hoodie off since I got it. (Except to shower and do yoga.)
Hopefully we will be out again at some point, so I will be more motivated to dress up. The least worn items now are my blazers, dress pants and dresses. I'll WFH in jeans and a nice top, my academy pants or leggings, maybe even a casual skirt when it's warmer. But I'm not likely to put on a blazer or a tailored skirt or dress. I just look at my shoes sometimes, I'm only wearing house shoes, slippers and sneakers or boots outside. So, yeah, my heels are on furlough for now, unless you count in-home fashion shows for the Mr.
DeleteI passed on a great deal for a pair of cute retro striped sweats. I refuse to slide into wearing sweats all day. High waist skinny jeans are a good way to avoid the siren call of the peanut butter jar or the homemade ice cream in my freezer.
Yes on the high waisted skinny jeans. They keep you honest.
DeleteI almost feel like I’m done with blazers aside from the very rare dress up occasion. I realized that in restaurants they’re a bit constricting to eat in—I’m better off bringing a scarf or wrap. Not that we are going to restaurants any time soon.
Technically they’re not exactly dress pants but I have worn my Everlane pleat pants while self quarantined. They are as comfortable as sweats but tailored and can totally be dressed up.
I agree - I'm almost done with blazers. I have one or two each in black/blue/khaki, and I don't see a need for more. I won't be buying any bmore dress pants, fitted shirts, Tippis or cashmere, pencil skirts or high waisted anything for awhile. Honestly I think the U.S. (maybe the world?) won't reopen until mid-summer, which means I won't need any more sweaters or cold weather clothes for awhile. I don't wear shoes around the house because I have wood floors and lots of rugs, but I have been buying a lot of shoes lately (3 pairs in 3 weeks, agh). They're mocs, ballet flats or low heeled ballet flats, which I wear all the time at work. I'm done buying high heeled or tall platform shoes ever again.
DeleteSounds like we have similar thoughts!
DeleteSame on the heels—I think I stopped buying anything except low block heels about 2 years ago now. I have plenty of beautiful high heels if I ever need them, and already more than enough block heels thanks to J.Crew starting to offer more in that style.
DeleteI’ve been working on trying to buy less for some time now, and the shutdown has made me more aware than ever of the embarrassment of riches in my closet. I just wear the same old things around the house now. Nice old things (yes to cashmere hoodies and jeans!) but old things nonetheless. It’s another way to remind myself that clothes last a long, long time.
