J.Crew Reviews {straight from the JCAs!}

This is the weekly "J.Crew Reviews {straight from the JCAs}" post, to help each other share our reviews.

So if you have recently purchased, or stopped by a J.Crew store to try on an item (or two) from J.Crew, maybe you might be willing to share that information with us in this post.

Also, this request is not just limited to clothes. Please feel free to discuss bags, shoes, jewelry, accessories, etc.

In particular, if you could mention a few of the noteworthy details like fit, size, fabric, and the like— that would be fantastic! Thanks in advance! :)

  1. Does anyone have any feedback on the fit of AJ434, the Sleeveless V-Neck Blouse? Some of their blouses run large and I size down from my normal Small to an X-Small. There are no reviews on the webiste. Thank you, Jennifer

    1. If you call, CS may be able to email you the actual garment measurement specs...and you can compare to an item that fits you well.

    2. No luck. Because this an item made out of country, apparently this information is not available. If you don't call them on it, the CS representatives just read from the generic size charts. It's really hit or miss these days in regard to getting accurate sizing. And less easy to return these days :-(.

    3. I had that happen too, they mailed me the info that was on the website. And when I replied I was interested in chest and waist measurements they gave me the generic size chart info. I loved that they had the actual garment measurements #backintheday

  2. Lynchburg must be running again, as I got a shipping notice.

    1. I have another item lost at my (not exactly local) Usps Distribution center. It was supposed to be delivered here Saturday and it’s been hiding there since 3/17. I’m being patient for now but not sure how long I should give it. Considering I have a big carton of returns I can’t do anything with right now I’ll give it a little longer.
It would be nice if like other retailers jcrew waived return shipping or even did store credit instead like Everlane does.

    2. I recently had a package show up a week late, it took a detour from Parsippany to South Jersey then Secaucus and back to Parsippany. Lots of stress for delivery services, so there's bound to be mistakes.

  3. i ordered the barn jacket w liberty collar. in pics it is adorable but the fabric itself is so...odd. its almost rain coat plastic like. and it isnt lined so the seams are awkward and it just feels really cheap and weird. sad because i really wanted to love it.

  4. If you call, they will waive the return shipping fee since stores aren't open for return. It's a pain to call but it's worth it to save the shipping and get the items returned.

    1. Oh, that’s good to know. TBH I hadn’t thought of that!

  5. Opinion would be appreciated on the sequin dresses on sale today. Considering the watermelon and navy gingham prints. Love anything with sequins. Thank you and hope everyone is safe especially those in the fields of medicine etc.

    1. I was looking at those too! And at the sleepy lions shirt dress.
Since they are returnable, probably worth a shot. For me it would have to be a wear to work dress, and I'm not sure if sequins would be over-the-top for my workplace.
My eye prefers the stripes to the gingham, and I like gingham.
Wonder if the sequins would be less shiny IRL, when you are not under studio lights...'cos they look really shiny in the model shots.

    2. I'm going to try it in watermelon stripe too. With cardlove stacking, it's a deal! Jessica Chastain just posted a video of her wearing an all-over sequin dress and I'm inspired!

    3. I was also admiring that dress, I came here to see if anyone is talking about it. Haven’t been able to post in months. I hope you are all well and coping with our new normal!

    4. Hey, there you are! You do like colorful dresses - so with the price point are you interested? Not that I have anyplace to wear a dress, of course.

Working at home every day is casual day, just jeans and sweaters mostly, with slippers.

    5. It’s so nice to “see” you!! I think I could make occasions to wear it? When I do need a dress, many times it is during the day or for something more modest?

I just got a J. Crew card, I’m going to order it.

You are in jeans! I give you so much credit! I vow to wear jeans tomorrow as a preemptive measure to curb my snacking. Non-stretch waistbands for a while.

    6. I changed my mind. I may regret it. Who knows?

    7. I have a weakness for sequins too, so I ordered both. I really like the look of both and have wanted to try them. It's hard to believe the price with stackable discount makes them 70% off. They were just released. Have a few events later in the summer that would work well for both.

Received the sequin stripe boyfriend blazer (fit tts) and nicely made. It will work well with denim and a white tee. It also matches the navy sequin wide leg pants perfectly. Don't have any plans to wear them together, but wanted to let anyone know that might be interested. Hope everyone is making the most of working/staying at home, if that's an option for you, and staying safe.

    8. @Mygoddy you are my sequin hero. Glad you like the blazer & the pants. I'm hoping the dress works for me. I think they're going to have trouble selling 'going out' clothing when we are not 'going out' anymore.

    9. @pbanos, sorry for the late reply. Wasn’t able to sign in until now. I did order the watermelon sequin dress and the lions silk dress as well as some other sequin items. I just love sequins and anything the company manufactures I purchase. Also purchased the shirt in the watermelon print and various other items as well as some this morning. When we will wear some of these items is another story as you mentioned but we will find a time and place even during these difficult times. We can always play dress-up and I intend to create a fashion show for my husband:) Hope everyone is well.

    10. @Lynn, we do fashion shows at home too! Today I broke out the floral statement necklace with my eyelet back sweatshirt. Next will be the beaded daisy earrings with the big purple hoops.

  6. @pbanos, how pretty you will look! I’m sure your husband will be delighted! Have a nice week ahead.
