  1. The Bristol crossbody in pebbled leather came today. I got the pink and it was a slightly warmer tone than I expected, but should still be a fairly neutral spring/summer bag. It was impeccably packaged, every strap wrapped in paper or foam, little plastic seals over the snaps so they don't get scratched, and it came with a dust bag as well. The leather is soft, the bag is a perfect size, and I love that they included a zippered interior pocket in the lining. Definite keeper!

Also, a PSA: If you've been hanging onto an extra 25% off code from the site crashes around the holidays, it expires April 30.

  2. There was a decent sale update this morning - a fair amount of shoes at low prices. Because I need more shoes. Have a few pairs of sandals in my cart - we'll see if I go for it...

    1. The shoes.... The shoes..... How do I say no to $20 shoes?! (I don't)

    2. I feel like everyone is at a party And I was t invited. No shoes like that in my size where the code actually works. The only thing I’m considering is bandanas in two of the Liberty prints. Not sure if it’s worth the $8.50 though. Can anyone chime in?

    3. Saw the update but alas, no shoes in my size that I don’t already own. Sob sob sob
Idk Suz, you do like a bandanna...

    4. I ordered them. I hate wearing necklaces most of the time, especially when It’s hot and because of yoga, but a lightweight cotton bandana works really well in the summer to add color to an otherwise monochromatic outfit.

    5. Cheri - your willpower is impressive. Even when I already own a pair if they show up heavily reduced, I sometimes (often) find myself buying a back up pair.

Suz - I have a couple of Liberty bandanas that I like to tie around the handle of my neutral (i.e. black) purses/totes. As you said, it adds color to an otherwise monochromatic outfit.

    6. Anne, please let us know what you wound up with!

Toronto, I briefly considered the perfect boot in an alternate color, but with the pair I have, Sorels, and the Nordic boot all in black as well, I was able to hold strong!

Suz, that was a good call for you.

    7. Cheri - I walked away to contemplate during my morning workout so as to not just mindlessly complete another 6am order...I have the cerise suede penny sandals and the double strap snakeskin slide sandals in my cart...the denim bow slides sold out in the meantime.

    8. Anne I have both of those and like them.

  3. I know some JCAs who were fans of the seaside pants in linen were disappointed with the new seaside pants in cotton twill.

They were on sale and then further discounted I believe with the SOGOOD code so I wanted to let people know that if they are not final sale (and depending on what you are looking for) they may be worth a try.

First - they share the "seaside" name, but I think the cut is definitely different. I have two pairs of the linen ones in 2P and I bought the cotton twill ones in 2P. It's not just the fabric - they definitely fit differently. Depending on your particular dimensions, this may be good or bad. In my case, they actually fit better than the linen ones. I found the linen ones way too roomy in the waist and in the stomach area. While they were not tight in the upper thighs, because they were so roomy elsewhere, they seemed out of proportion. The fabric was nice and heavy, and they were comfy for lounging so I kept them.

The new cotton twill ones are still roomy, but less so, and they seem to be more evenly roomy than the linen ones - if that makes any sense. The material is lighter, which may be, depending on what you want them for, a plus. Given the lightness/thinness of the materiak, I would stick with dark colors in this cotton twill style.

  4. I should mention I took a visit to the stores today.
Crew was 20 off for cardholders but no additional off sale. You’d think with the fair isle sweaters and velvet tanks they’d at least red line some of it to clear it out.
There were some cute new sandals. One was the liberty print that is also available in the field jacket style, but it had the added embellishment of a few very large crystals, so they were a little loud and I’m not, sure, the placement makes any sense, but they were cute.

Madewell was still 30 off sale in store.
