Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SPRING sale, or to see some new SUMMER arrivals {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

  1. Hopefully yes, to see the new Vancouver store, which is in a mall. :)

  2. I think this was mentioned in another thread, but as of late yesterday it's now 30% off $250+ in-store. As opposed to $75 off $250+

  3. Sort of OT, but I'm hoping someone can help me with the name and/or style number of a necklace that was released online and in stores maybe a month or 2 ago. It is one of the out-of-case necklaces, maybe $48-$58. It's a statement-y necklace with a fan-like shape and came in a cobalt blue color, a mint color, and a clear crystal color. TIA!

    1. I believe it may be tidal pools?? I don't have an item number. I know that park meadows b&m had all 3 colors. Price $49.50. HTH

    2. Sorry. Early am. Crystal droplets not tidal pools

  4. Yes... Returning my thistle print shirt. (Already got a larger size). And I want to check out new arrivals.

I'd also like to hear from anyone who went to the style event yesterday. Any good? :)

  5. I went to the style event at my store last night. It was fun. It was 30% off $250. They had refreshments - cheese, crackers, punch and sweets. The SAs were all wearing the new rollout items, and it was nice to see how they styled everything. The Hawaiian Sunset print looked absolutely fantastic with Modern Red!

I didn't buy anything, though. I've done some damage with sale plus the recent promos, and I couldn't really justify yet another pair of capris, perfect shirt or embellished tee, despite the lovely new prints.

    1. Glad your experience was better than mine (in the "vent" post).

My store didn't offer the refreshments they had behind the counter, and SAs weren't greeting people!

    2. I did go last night, they had soft drinks and cupcakes. All the new arrivals were on display but nothing I had to have. I purchased the Tabbie-T-Straps in Metallic Silver, they were 25% off ($10 less than online) and then I applied my 20% cardmember discount I received a few weeks back. Could not find my J Crew card but they looked it up and so I cancelled my card since I could not find it at home either. I am going to try and not make any purchases until new card arrives :)

    3. Rosie, what a crappy experience! Customer service can be so inconsistent, even at the same store.

They could've at least offered you a cupcake :(

  6. Review of the collection seed bead tank & heathered sequin tank in this post. The seed bead is $10 cheaper in-store as of a couple weeks ago. The heathered sequin tank is $79.99 online vs $59.99 in-store.

    1. Gigi, glad to see someone else is having an issue with low/large armholes. I tried on a couple of items last night in store and yikes..it was frightening.

    2. JRSConifer - Y, not digging the low arm holes. I'm not interested in playing the "I'll make it work" game with that.

  7. I wanted to go to the style event last night but wasn't able to make it. :( Was planning to but ran out of time. Anyways! I heard it was a lot of fun!

  8. For those interested, there are numerous new Promo-priced items today, as well as a few new markdowns. I've noted them at the top of this post. Have a great weekend everyone! :)

  9. I went to the Greensboro store event last night. I met their new VPS, a recent design school grad. Wish I could remember his name. He's very nice, as were the rest of the SAs. The store had more trendy stuff than usual, including a swoop print dress or two. I got the Hawaiian sunset popover. The SAs took the time to call and make sure I was not overlooked for a rewards card after I said that I had 700 points as of my May bill and had not received a card. JC verified that I now have 900 points, but did not meet my point quota in time for a rewards. Can't figure out how that happened. They assured me I would be due for $50 in rewards for fall with the popover purchase, which was fine by me.

    1. JulieStyles..thank you. Wonderful blog and I can relate at 5'1", capri pants are not my friend either. I see people wearing them, see them styled in J Crew catalogs and want them. But like Mattie then I try them on and they are just awful on me.

      Delete
    2. Dissenting option here. I'm 5'3" on my tiptopes, and I do love the cafe capris. However, it's a minor miracle that J Crew hasn't blacklisted me for the dozens of pairs I've ordered and returned over the past year!

I have trouble fitting in the "new" style of cafe capri because the calves are too slim for me and the rise is too short in petites. I finally settled for buying the regular size and having them hemmed.

Although I love the look, I do have a rant about the cafe capri pockets. Both front and back, they're too shallow to actually put anything in them! What's the point of having pockets at all, JCrew?!

  14. If anyone tries or sees the COLLECTION SILK-LINEN SKIRT IN MONARCH I would be super grateful for your review or thoughts!
I love the look of it, but am unsure as to whether or not it's worth the $$ or whether it would fit/suit me!

  15. I've got some reviews forthcoming. For now, here is a fitting room review of the button-front dress in roller girl.

Btw, my store had 30% off sale section.

  16. I was at the store this morning and bought over $400 worth of stuff and they took only $75 off, not 30% as some of you have stated here. I wish I had read through this post before hitting the store today. I bought the Havana Clutch but it feels funny in my hands.... I have small hands and I feel like they are getting cramps just holding the darn clutch! Anybody else have similar issues with the clutch? I may have to return it.

    1. bella - One store I visited on Thursday said that they had *just* recvd notice to take 30% off the total if a customer spends $250 or more. Another store I visited said they didn't know about that. It was still $75 off $250. I asked if maybe the 30% off $250+ was just for the style event. They said no. What they did was ring up things up based on the tiers, so that customers got the best deal.So in your case, they would've run up $250 and then $150+ as separate transactions.

Everyone's confused. The SAs couldn't quote the correct dollar amount off without looking at the signage. The $ off tiers are silly. They should've made them a % off and a blanket 30% off $250+.

      Delete
    2. Thanks Gigi for the info. Clearly there's a lack of communication between jcrew corporate and stores! So annoying.

      Delete
    3. I wish they would have done the tiered % off they have done in the past - something like 20% off purchases from $150-199, 25% off $200-249, and 30% off 250+. That said I get to make a rare trip to a B&M so I'm really looking forward to checking out all the new items. In an odd turn of events my May style guide arrived yesterday.

  18. OT, Alexis!
There is a code for Canadians in the Globe and Mail this morning:
GMCAN15 is good for 25% off a purchase, free shipping AND free returns. Good until June 30th.
    The fine print reads:
"To redeem online enter code GMCAN15 at checkout. Limit one promo code per order. Orders will be shipped via UPS... and returns will be honored in the form of reimbursement upon processing. Offer valid in Canada only."

Pretty good offer for Canadians, especially considering returns are so costly for us normally.

    1. Thanks Dani- that's awesome news!
I ordered the vacationland top last week and now I think it will be too big (I ordered based on measurements they gave by phone, however on net a porter the scale is quite different). Now I have time to wait and replace it if need be!

    2. Thank you for sharing, Dani! That's a great deal for Canadians, esp. with the free return shipping.

  21. Review of Cotton Faille Pull-on Shorts:
I usually only like 4" or 5" shorts, but these are really cute and so easy to wear. I bought them in navy and sweet pea green. The navy fits TTS, so I bought my usual size 2. The green shorts seem to run smaller, so I sized up to a 4. The bigger size is pretty baggy, but it gives me another inch of length since they sit low on my hips.

  23. I'm too far from a store to go in person, but the current promo did get me to order two new items:
    (1) merino Tippi in fish print - I might be a bit nuts to be buying wool this late in the year, but we are having a relatively cool spring, so I'm taking a risk!

    (2) crystal compilation necklace in aqua. I think seeing that big picture in the catalog (or "style guide") just did it for me - I love the color of the center stone!

  30. Can any JCAs chime in if they shopped in store? I am curious as to how the tiered promo works if I buy both sale items and full price. Do they apply the 30% off for sale items and the tiered promo to full price? Online they only do one of the codes, regardless of whether you have a mix in your cart. And has anybody had success using the student discount with the tiered promo? TIA!

    ReplyDelete

    1. I did buy both sale and full price items in store. They will take the 30% off an sale items you have first. And then, if your total is > than $150, $200, or $250 you get the respective dollar amounts off. I have no experience with the educator/student discount. HTH!

    2. Anthro Blogger, I was not able to use my educator's discount with the tiered promo in my B & M, nor with the 50% off at Factory.

Embarrassed to say I took advantage of both already this weekend :)

  33. I am broken hearted--I have been waiting and waiting for the next lynchburg warehouse sale and I just found out this evening that it was this weekend. they never emailed me or anyone else I know who usually gets their emails (and I am guessing from the lack of a jcrew aficionada post as well that there was something wrong with the notifications this time?) I hope they do another one soon and that they actually notify everyone.
