  1. No, there isn't anything I need at the moment. I found most of what I wanted during the promo run at the b&m. Also, it is so worth the effort to call around to b&m's to see if another store is running the promo at a higher discount, & have them do a charge/send.

  2. The prices at the b&ms are SO much lower! It's worth it to call one if you see something you like. They had 50% off final sale in Seattle this week.

  3. Any advice on the polka dot sidewalk skimmers? They are back up to FP on the site (??), and a store I called said they had them for $59.99... Has anyone seen a better price on them? TIA :) No Madewell stores to be found around here :(

  4. Hey Wendy, $59.99 was the price for the polka dot skimmers in both the nude and navy colors in the store earlier this week.

I had seen them in a store, but the store didn't carry my size in the color I wanted. They were (and are) full price online. I called the Madewell CS and asked if I could get the sale price + the then in-store promotion if I ordered with them by phone; the CS said that I should've asked the in-store salesperson to call because she needed to verify the price + the promo, but she put me on hold and called the store to check on stock and the price. I got them for the sale price + promotion, but had to pay for shipping, so I added in another item and got free shipping when I met the minimum.

You can try calling the store to charge-send if they have your size and will honor the price + promo, or call CS and see what they can do for you.

    Hope that helps!

  5. Thanks so much, Audrey. The store apparently stopped doing the extra 30% off sale yesterday :(

    1. Bust! Did you try asking if they would match the store price online along with the online 30%?

    2. I mean, call the 1-800 number and ask about that.

  8. Audrey, thanks so much for taking the time to share your ideas--I really appreciate it! :) Unfortunately, the 800 number folks wouldn't match the store price, and the store wouldn't match the online promo. I guess I'm kind of being cheap at this point, but it's partly the principle. The toll free guy said if they are on sale in store they will prob go on sale online soon, too--LOL. Guess we'll see if I find something else in the meantime :)

    1. I don't think it's being cheap, it's smart shopping to compare prices-- even though, in this case, it's Madewell's own price discrepancy. Good luck!

    2. Sorry it didn't work out for you, Wendy. I would continue to monitor instore '%off sale' promos, and then call stores to have them sent to you. I just received my polka dot skimmers last week...I had them sent from a store during their recent '50% off sale' instore promo...so I only paid $30 plus shipping. Oh, and I read may reviews that said they ran true to size, but I really wish I had ordered up a half size, since mine are a little tight:(

  10. Went to a B&M last weekend, 50% off sale was on. There were lots of cute shirts and tees and shoes! The store prices were definitely better, with the odd exception like the blazers and silk shirts. Reviewed the new Heartnote Cardi on my blog tonight.

  11. I was at the Boston B&M a few days ago and the sale section was super picked-over, sadly, and now I'm back in the land of no Madewells within hundreds of miles.

When I was at the store, I heard someone asking an SA about the price differences in-store vs. online, and the SA told the customer that each store basically got to price at their own discretion.
