Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SUMMER sale, or to see some new SUMMER arrivals {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

  1. I'm not sure if I will go in. Maybe if they extend the promo, I will go to a store I didn't visit.

In-store jewelry markdowns/price info, Tessa top & anchor hoodie reviewed in this post.

Other in-store markdowns like the neon tweed boucle jacket & legion jacket in this post.

  4. Ladies, Gigi's post today showing the Raj Paisley Maxidress pushed me over the edge and now I have to find one! Of course, now I can't find it online, so I'm hoping that one of you will spot one in your local store and let me know. I'm looking for a larger size (10, 12 or even 14) and hoping that stores will extend the additional 30% off. If you visit a store and happen to see one, will you please let me know? I would really appreciate it.

    Thanks!

  8. I'm expecting Mr. Brown Shorts today with my first huge sale order. I'll have things to return (due to rebuying at lower prices). And I'm going to see if my stores have the Jumbo Brulee necklace on sale since they didn't when I called last week and I bought one online. Maybe I'll get lucky and get the manager who actually wants to sell stuff. It's weird how it's so hit and miss.

    1. Stray cat, u always make me chuckle. Well, I must say at least he is a reliable man. He shows up when he's supposed to & always has something for me with no expectations in return. Though, he is on his way so soon, I always know he'll be back soon enough ( & so does he!! LOL). He was visiting my house yesterday and left me some gorgeous Martina calf hair wedges (originally 358... Got 'em for 139 with the promo, I am in love!)

  10. What? I didn't do enough damage during the week? Just kidding, of course, the Crewlet is calling and earth girls are easy.

  11. Yes, I will stop in during my travels over the weekend. I have 4 B&Ms within a reasonable driving distance plus a Crewlet, so I will probably check around to see what I can find in the sale sections, esp. shoes and dresses. Extra 30% still going in Chicago area stores.

  13. A, you may want to try calling some of the NYC stores. They have a lot of shoes. I tried 3, and on the third shot a delightful SA did a complimentary WWFI for me, waived the shipping AND applied the add 30% off sale on the Martina's. All were super nice on the phone!

    1. Thank you! I tried callin a bunch of stores last night including the 5th ave one and no luck. 5th ave had me on hold for 20 min and never came back. I was near that store yesterday, kicking myself for not going in.

    2. Everiday, how do the Martinas run compared to other shoes in other brands?

      Delete
    3. Anthro Blogger - I wear an 8 in all other shoes except for designer shoes and the Martinas fit best in an 8.5. Although I tried them at the sample sale in an 8 and they fit well too. OT- the shoes at the sample sale were scuffed and dirty.

      Delete
    4. Anthro Blogger, I agree w A. I usually take an 81/2 in heels in other brands and a 9 in Jcrew heels. I could have gotten away with an 81/2 in these I think, but am glad I ordered the 9's as the fit is perfecto :o)

      Delete
    5. Anthro Blogger - Definitely go up half a size in the Martinas. I am always a 6 (even in shoes that run small like the Monas or Juliets) and I needed a 6.5 in the Martinas. HTH!

  14. Fairoaks Mall in Virginia was still running the 30% off as of last night. Not sure if it will go through the weekend - they said they didn't know either. I did notice a few additional markdowns. The back bow dress which i bought on wednesday for $79.99 less 30% was now only $59.99 less 30%. They only had a few of them left at that location but the SA's are WONDERFUL there, and especially helpful about finding any sizes they dont have.

Also, i was able to snag both the turquoise and yellow jumbo crystal brulee necklaces for $49.99 less 30%. They still had a few left (one in the case still) so if you are looking for one i would definitely give them a call - (703) 273-0291!

  15. Not going this weekend. I am relieved the 30% online sale is over! It was great but I always feel like I need to take advantage of a sale like that and try on things I wouldn't bother with otherwise. Some of the prices were great. I loved that it wasn't Final Sale. I'll go next week to make (hopefully a lot of) returns from the sale.

  16. I'd be curious to know if stores run promotion through weekend. Anyone? I have a bunch of returns, might pop in during lunch.

  17. Would like to find the red origami dress at the sales price (still fp online). Could anyone post if they happen to see a size 2? TIA.

  18. Sara, my comments seem to keep going to the spam folder here (ARRGGHHH! Why?) so not sure if you will see this, but I called a few stores yesterday and on the third 'no,' the friendly SA offered to call in a We Will Find It for You even though it was a sale item and confirmed they would take off the extra 30% from the sale price ... I got an email this morning saying it had been located and would be shipped within 24-48 hours. So I definitely think it's worth a shot to try calling a store and seeing if they will do it for you!

    2. mommydearest - I have the gold sperrys and I think they stretch out at least a half size. I originally got them in a size 9, which is my normal size, and although they were just right at first, they are almost too big for me now. I sized down to an 8.5 the next time around. I would definitely order a half size down. They might feel snug at first, but you will see after a couple of hours they conform to your foot. I absolutely love them; super comfy and they go with everything.

  35. Hi Just received one of my recent 30% packages....
-The summerlight terry popover hoodie...seemed really nice at first ...stretched out in 10 mins on...going back ($39.99)obviously very thin material...I would size down next time.
-barton trouser in Navy...nice pant the pleats made it look outdated...but structure, fabric and fit are nice...going back ($84.00 or so)
-amie maxi dress in navy...nice easy piece a keeper at a lttle over $50.00
-school boy blazer in white eyelet...like but don't love...feels very summery and will probably not have the opportunity to wear it much..it was just under a $100. Kind of felt old ladyish...and I am in my forties!
-not on sale I ordered the promanade skirt in navy..if you like the jardin I think you will like this one...nice fabric, elastic waist ..but it does not look like it...fits nice,flows/drapes easily...pricey at $98 returning but would buy on sale.
-the cabochon fan necklace in Peach bloosom too pricey at $85 pretty substantial. Too big for me.
    - crinkle chiffon skirt in navy (a bit over ($50) Nice fabric...but with grosgrain ribbon fitted waistband...perfer the promanade to this one...but the navy color is pretty
-ordered two of the angular eyelet tops one in navy one in white...($62) each for a T-shirt...both going back...really dissappointed in this one! cheap thin t-shirt fabric.
**I have two more parcels coming with Lexa dresses( took DaniMBP) advice) the lined linen trousers and merino cardi...I'm tired of the order/return process after this next parcel...I am on a shopping hiatus. Carolyn from Vancouver

  36. Hey everyone....just had a chance to try on my first round of sale items I received today. Not to my surprise was the sleeper item....Front Pleat Skirt #85932. Love at first try! I ordered both colors and love them both. Nice structured style that will be wearable for years to come and nice heavy weight linen fabric...but it doesn't really yell LINEN like so many linen garments. It's a heavy crosshatch fabric. Really nice. Already paired it up with button downs, chambray and demin shirts, tees, popovers and Tippi sweaters. I knew I'd love this skirt because last fall/winter I bought both colors of the straight wool skirt with the diagonal pockets. It's a similiar classic look. the front pleat skirt is online only, but I took my regular pencil skirt size. Also got the Audrey sandals. Love the Blade color, also got the patent orange. I reordered the Big Apple skirt (cause it went on sale) and now I'm a little on the fence. I think I was already tired of the print just modeling it in the mirror....humm....I think it's going back. It's super cute, very nice fabric, runs big (I could have sized down), but how many times can I wear it? And I only could pair it with a black tee....I tried orange and striped and it was just toooo much. It may be too "young" for me too. I'm old. I'll sleep on it.

  39. Got a package today w/my 30 off order. All misses and being returned. First off, my swimwear experiment was a big failure. The top felt thin and there's not even padding, so when the top gets wet, you will be really exposing things, if you kwim. I prefer the Lands End swim suits by far. Oh well, now I know. I ordered the Blythe blouse in a beautiful purple color, but it's just blah on me and not really needed, so it's going back. Tried the Viv flats in the patent leopard pattern. I cannot believe how snug they fit. I am an 8 fairly consistently, and they were way too small. And I got the summerlight terry skirt. I already wore it and it's cute, but as another poster mentioned, it stretches way out. I should've ordered a size down. I'll toss it in the dryer and hope it doesn't shrink in length too much. So, long story short, I'll be going to my b&m w/a boatload of returns.

I know I should save this for reviews, but I will say (saved the best for last) I snagged the metallic linen slicker a few days before the 30 off promo and it is FABULOUS!! I saw it on ShopwithM and it was so cute on her, I had to have it. Luckily caught it on a popback. Grab this one if it should happen to reappear!!!

  40. An SA at my store told me that they may or may not continue their sale through the weekend. She also said that all the summer merchandise is going to be marked down consistently over the next few weeks because they have to get it out the door to make way for their fall merchandise which gets in next month.

Has anyone seen the Invitation Clutch in Warm Walnut leather in stores? Thanks!

  41. JustVisiting - for me, search by size shows up when you go into a category like Sweaters, but I can't search by size in the overall category of Women like I used to. Annoying ... but if they want to get in the way of my shopping, my bank account will be happier.

It seems the last two online sales with addtional 30% off were only 3-4 weeks apart. We have already seen markdowns on things from the last rollout and I'm sure we will see more soon. I have my eye on one item in particular that I'm waiting to go on sale from the last rollout. My stores are already telling customers fall items are coming soon....they gotta make room for those. And everyone here are quick to report sales and such, so just keep checking! Happy hunting!

    1. jan: I know that some of the personal shoppers only work part-time and they also have shifts as the online chat representative, so they aren't always able to answer their emails right away, and the out-of-office reply email is sent instead. However, if you know your personal shopper's schedule and are emailing them during their working hours, then you shouldn't be receiving the out-of-office reply all the time.

    2. Jan, I wonder if we have the same PS, mine is exactly the same way. I think I get the out of office response every single time I email her, though she often responds even though it says she won't be available.

  67. Hi! Did anyone see the CeCe's in gallery green this weekend? I'm looking for an 8.5. If you think you saw them, would you please let me know the store? Thanks!

  68. Visited the Edina MN JCrew and they were having 30% off still. Lots of linen cardis, the candy striped clutch, the linen schoolboy in white was on sale, I saw and bought the caboochan fan necklace. I don't want to take it off I love it so much. I can't believe what I paid for it. They had a lot of those silk red foulard cafe capri's on sale. I didn't like them in person. But they also had cafe capri in Kalediescope Dot which were awesome. I will buy them if I can get them on sale.

I got one of my many 30% off boxes today. So sad to say the Drea pumps do not fit! They fit like the Mona's, a half size too small. I should have known. Now I don't know what to do because I love the shoe and its sold out in the mushroom color online. I bought several of the linen cable sweaters. I am in love with them. Does anyone have any experience with how they hold up? I bought the wave crest color and heirloom pink which are both so beautiful. I also bought the hutton collection trousers in linen and they have to be the most beautiful linen trousers I have ever seen. I hope they hold up.

  71. Hi Unknown, I am OCD about keeping notes and per my notes on J Crew last summer Final Sale returned on June 30th with free shipping on $150.00+. They only had a few promos all summer. They had 20% off swim from 7/4 until 7/6 and 30% off final sale on 7/12 for about 4 days. Other than that I only noted a few free shipping offers on $100+ or $150+. I had down that Fall items were online on 7/21. Who knows what will happen this year.

    1. I confirm. I don't recall any 40% off sale in the summer online but at some point they had it in store (very late in July if I am not wrong).

    2. Thanks jca's
I know I am not the only one who finds the pricing game frustrating...but I feel because of this blog I get alot of feed back on quality and I feel full price on much of J crew is too high...so I spend/waste my time waiting for sales...I need another hobby...

    3. Jan is right about the 40% off online in late July last year. See here.

  73. Here's a question for all you seasoned JCA's. I wanted to order the white linen Schoolboy blazer but my size was sold out online. So a PS found me one. It just shipped today. At full price. Now I see they are on sale in stores. Of course. Would it be a good idea to see if my local store can find me one? Or would they even try since it's a sale item? The blazer is FP online...only seems to be on sale in stores. My two local stores don't have it. Any advice? TIA!

    1. Well if it was on sale in-store it should've automatically rung up for the sale price. And if it was during this 30% promo, they should've applied that, too. I would ask your PS to adjust it for you. Or make notes on your account and then you can go to your local store and have them process the adjustment. Did you receive shipping confirmation or see your bank transaction that you were charged fp? Or are you just assuming you were charged that because your ps found it and said it shipped.

  74. Hi ladies:

Does anyone know whether the Minnie pant in stretch twill in black and/or boulevard green is on sale in stores? I do not have access to a B&M and would love to find them on sale. I need a size 2.

  75. gigiofca.....About the Linen Schoolboy blazer. I wrote a note to the PS that found it for me. All I have received is the email saying it shipped. I told the PS that the blazer is on sale now and I don't know how much I was charged for it, to please confirm the price. And if I was charged FP, I would like a price adjustment. He is out of the office until 6-27, so I don't know anything yet. If I get the blazer before then and was charged FP, I might just call up or go to my local store and ask to have it adjusted. I should also confirm how much that blazer was selling in stores. I don't even know that! Thanks for your advise!

  76. gigiofca (and anyone else who might find this useful info). This morning I verfidied with CS that indeed I was charged FP for the Schoolboy Linen Blazer EVEN though they were already on sale in stores on the day they found it for me. Possibly a small window of crossover when I missed the initial markdown? CS told me to take it to a store for a price adjustment. She told me that she didn't have anyway of verifying what the blazer was marked down to in the stores. I called my local store this morning and confirmed the prize, got a name....just in case, and was told to bring it in for an adjustment. This makes me VERY happy considering it's on sale for $99.99 less 30% (normally 175.00) Yah!

  77. @CateO - re: personal shopper, I can't order sale items very often through her because of the time sensitive nature but it is nice to have an online PS. I guess many work part time.
