Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SPRING sale, or to see some new SUMMER arrivals {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

  1. Disappointed that there is no extra off FS or off FP. Come on J. Crew! Nothing that I NEED now.

  5. Just bit on the 30% off sale - a couple of factory items for my daughter - the savina sandals for me in green which are now reasonable at $146CDN versus the original $308 CDN! I also bought the new ivory featherweight cotton cardigan as a ride-along - I really needed one like this and it will go well with the rococo top...I have almost ordered the raj paisley pencil skirt 3 times... I also considered the feather paisley, which is a great price, but I really don't have much that will go with it...

    1. WMM - does the suede ballet fit TTS? Do u get toe cleavage? I wonder if sizing up will get rid Of d toe cleavage or perhaps it's just my wide feet or the cut of their ballets? But I'm afraid these will stretch out over time. Any help would be appreciated. Tia!

    2. WMM, the feather paisley is just a bit more versatile than the raj one, IMO. It's very pretty.

  6. WMM I encourage the feather paisley, there is a navy base and plenty of other colors in it, what a great price with the 30% off! I took my normal pencil size.
I bit on the sale, a couple of collection items from last year, these sales are a great time to buy those special pieces.

  7. I am confused, is there an additional 30% off at J Crew?? I don't see it anywhere. TIA

  8. Went in to exchange my vintage tee with a hole for a new one. Pleasantly surprised to get a $10 refund since it is now on sale. Lots of stuff in the sale section (Copley Boston) but nothing exciting to me.

  10. I'm headed to Austin, TX soon. Can any helpful JCAs tell me if the Domain location is better than Barton Creek?

No final sale for me. I had to get my PS to OK a return from a previous FS and I'm not going down that road again. Enjoy the deals JCAs!

    1. Be sure to check out the boutiques on South Congress (coffee at Jo's a must, love South Congress Cafe and Guero's and the food trucks) and on stores on Lamar (both south and north of the river). It's gorgeous weather, you can't spend it in the mall!! (OK, the Domain is a pedestrian area, but it's not *Austin*).

      Delete
    2. xoxo, I ordered a sweaterdress in a bigger size FS and my PS wouldn't take it back.

I got the black sweaterdress in my size, finally, and a double-serge cotton pencil skirt in Natural colour.

      Delete
    3. moke, Thanks for the advice, I hear the food trucks are a must-do. I won't spend much time in the mall, there are many things I want to see, like the bats!

Rose, my PS was hesitant to OK the return, she used to always be fine with it but said that J.Crew is really cracking down now. No more FS for me.

    4. xoxo, The Domain location tends to be better plus since The Domain is an outdoor mall, it is lovely this time of year. Also, there is a Madewell (if you are interested) a couple doors down from J.Crew. Just an fyi, but if you need some caffeine, there is a great spot to get tea and coffee at The Domain, The Steeping Room. Love their Iced Tea...it keeps me going while shopping.

Enjoy Austin! If you need anything else, don't hesitate to ask. It is great weather down here right now and so many great outdoor things to do here.

      Delete
    5. Thanks for the tips TXgirl14. I do love Madewell so it sounds like The Domain is the best location to visit. Tea is my caffeine of choice and I think a cup of iced tea would be perfect. I'm looking forward to my visit, I have never been to Austin and it looks like such a cool place.

  11. Just put in my order. Got the bright dahlia wool cafe capri and sovereign paisley cafe capri. Had my eye on both for awhile. Thanks to Autumn the 30 percent ourtreat scored me even more savings. Also got the crystal link bracelets. I am thrilled!

  12. Links to sale irl pics in this post. I added some info on sizing, i.e. the Clea dress which is now $69.99.

  13. So happy I waited one day to pull the trigger on all the items in my cart - major savings with the extra 30% off. I picked up a few of the double serge cotton skirts, plus the Mona pumps in the cinnamon colour (will be perfect for this fall), and the lifesaver popover. The discount also applies to Factory sale items, so I picked up the chambray shirt dress and the pencil skirt in black plumr. Factory items have not disappointed so far, and they are not final sale either. Totally getting high on the Crewlade right now!

  14. Amber - thank you so much!

  15. Cuckoo - I just went in and tried them on again and there is indeed toe cleavage! I ave narrow feet, so I think it is just the way they are cut. Toe cleavage doesn't bother me, but my daughter hates it!

Ok Dani - I am going back in to look - I did a major cleaning out of things this a.m. and have a huge bag for the consignment shop tomorrow! I cannot equal Janet from A Gardener's Cottage, but I am feeling better! MY one dither now is a gorgeous pair of cole haan black leather and straw sandals I bought last summer at an ungodly price that I just cannot walk in....

  16. Bit on a couple of the double serge cotton pencil skirts - great deal with this promo and they are not marked FS. I took a chance on the citron colour, hoping it isn't too neon-y!

Not sure why the promo details specify 'newly added' styles because it seems to be working for all sale items...

  17. Thinking of the Natasha - usually a 0 or 2 in JCrew tops, anyone know how this one is running? only final sale item I am considering...

    1. Samantha - This is one of my favorite tops. I will own 4 by next week. Irl pics, some chest measurements & link to other blogger pics in this post.

    2. Samantha - a sales associate told me to size down for this one so I did (got a 00, usually I'm a 0 or 0p) and I think it's a bit tight across the chest (I'm a 34a)and arm-holes. It's not unwearable but I re-ordered online in 0, just to see if it will be more comfortable.

      Delete
  18. Thanks gigi! It has been in my cart and almost made it through for the longest time, but I may just have to pick up two now. Think I am going with the smaller since I have gaping issues in tops, sadly. Thanks again!

    1. Samantha - Smaller of your two sizes is probably best. It's definitely fuller thru the body than other camis w/this silhouette.

  19. OT - I posted this in the Crew-like retailers thread, too:

Need no-iron button down help. Major, major fail on my J Crew stretch perfect shirt. The collar was sad and lifeless all day. It kept folding under my suit blazer and looked awful. The collar looked dorky untucked and laying on top of the blazer lapels. I'm thinking a non-iron buttondown would be a good solution. Crisp looking is good, but stiff is bad. Any recs?

    1. gigi, I have a BR no-iron shirt and is fantastic.

    2. I have several Brooks Brothers tailored fit no-irons, I highly recommend. Stays crisp all day (plus a couple more re-wears). Pricey ($89?), but they go on sale for $45 online occasionally, and you can get them at the outlets too. I don't regret paying FP for my first one though, and I'm sold for life!
Also I tried BR no-irons, they did not fit me correctly.

      Delete
    3. Gigi, I have 2 Brooks Brothers no irons and they are FAB! Highly recommend. You can catch them on promo on occasion. At least I did, but that was several years ago. Granted, I don't wear them much, but they look brand spanking new.

      Delete
    4. Thanks for the help! I tried the Banana Republic ones and i see why I ended up selling, consigning or giving my previous ones away. The fit isn't a match for me. I will definitely try Brooks Brothers. They have a few on sale right now.

  20. gigi - I am blaming the computer for my inability to use the reply function but I love my banana non-irons! I have a few cotton ones that do require a little ironing or a quick fluff in the dryer, but the sateen ones are incapable of wrinkles. It amazes me.

    1. Samantha - Thanks for the suggestion. I ordered 2 BR ones the other day and got a chance to try them in person yesterday. *Sad face* They don't work for me, so I'll be trying Brooks Bros.

  22. Why am I even surprised at this sneakattack promo? LOL! Grrrrrr.

I ordered a few odds and ends like the sheep that I am, things I had in my cart yesterday but dumped due to no extra % off.

I have literally had boxes arriving every other day for like a week (but all the others only held one or two items). This is problematic. But at least I won't pay to ship the next box. :o

  23. Hi Ladies,

Gigi mentoined in her blog that OURTREAT works for getting 30% off on final sale items at jcrew. It also works for regular sale! Just saved a bundle!

  24. Finally got the Schoolboy Jacket in Cherry. Also the lace front shirt. Great price on the jacket at $70!!

    ReplyDelete
  25. Gigi, I second Samantha's BR recommendation. My co-worker wears the BR no-iron shirts all the time and they look great. I was in the store earlier this week and they had TONS of different no-irons on sale, stripes and solids. Might be worth a try, especially on sale. I'm with you, hate a lifeless, limp collar.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I broke my no final sale rule for 2 items at good prices that I have already tried on in the store--leopard tippi for $21 and feather paisley skirt for $56. Otherwise, I picked up some tees/tanks on promo. I threw in the hutton trouser pants in the full price color as a ride along to try on, but I am definitely not keeping them at $168. If they look good, I will return them and get the sale color for $62. Just not taking the chance on final sale in the event that they look like clown pants on me. A few other items I'm holding out for bigger markdown, like the abstract leopard skirt.
Popped into B&M--prices all over the place between online and B&M. Feather paisley skirt is still FP in store. Sovereign paisley cafe capri is 109.99 in store (no 30% off), while online it is 99.99-30%. Marla silk dress is 44.99 in-store (no 30% off) while online it is 99.99-30%. The rope necklace tunic tee is $49.99 in store and FP ($78) online. So prices might be better either online or in-store, depending on the item.

I never got notification of this promo and it doesn't show up when I open the website, so I never would have known without JCA!!

    1. What is the fabric like on the feather paisley skirt - thick like purple medallion paisley? or thin like the basketweave?

      Delete
    2. The paisley is a thick cotton.
That reminds me--the basketweave skirt is 99.99-30% online and is 59.99 in-store.

      Delete
    3. Thanks! I was hoping that would be the case. I really love the thick cotton - it is flattering and holds up well. I also like the basketweave but I did size up in the blue now with the extra % off I am now debating the green but I'm definitely going for the navy paisley.

  30. Oh, J. Crew customer service. They didn't know about OURTREAT. First they said that it was an old promo and that it's not in play right now. Then they said that it was only a Canadian promotion. Then finally they tested it and admitted that it's a current promotion. But they wouldn't let me use it from the orders I placed yesterday. Sigh.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I almost put in an order last night when I noticed that the crinkle chiffon skirt was on sale, but I held out thinking that there might be an easter sale promo. Thanks so much to those who posted the promo code - I just received an e-mail from jcrew but they didn't include the promo code! I picked up the skirt, some basics, and the natasha top in polka dot at full price - saved $50 with OURTREAT. I can't wait for everything to arrive!!

  32. Yes apparently its a Canadian promotion but when I did a mock checkout it still worked. They wouldn't let me use it on yesterday's order either but I just reordered everything with the exception of one final sale item that's sold out in my size anyways-- was only $15 loss but I guess I saved on the other non final sale items I wanted. Sigh...

    ReplyDelete
  33. did a mock checkout but it only worked for me on sale items. pop-up lady said there are no promotions today when I asked a "general" question.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Rose, could you forward me the email from JCrew(jesschamp82@gmail.com)? I just asked for 30% on an order ($300+) placed this AM but they said there was no such promotion. Thanks!

  35. The timestamp on the "shop to it: a surprise sales at jcrew.com" email I received was 4:59am. It was in the account that I use to log into J.Crew. Then another account received the email a couple of hours later. The third account still hasn't received it. Typically I get the promo emails in all three accounts.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I posted the details from the sale email on my blog HERE. There is nothing in the fine print that indicates it is Canada-only.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Hm, I still haven't gotten an email about this promo, and it seems it's the Canadian JCAs who got it. Also, the promo is not advertised on the US site, but if you switch your "ship to" location to Canada it comes up on the main page. So it definitely looks like this was supposed to be a Canada-only promo. Good thing for blogs like this, so US customers can partake as well. :) JCrew, do you want to sell clothes or not? Many of us US customers were keeping our wallets closed waiting for a promo, and only finally placed orders once we got the news from the Canadian JCAs.

  38. Does anyone know how to initiate a chat on jcrew.com when the chat now link is grayed out? Usually the chat link comes up on its own and I have to keep closing it and now that I actually have a question, it's not working...:)

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Amaryllis - That sounds about right. When you don't want/need the chat, it keeps bouncing around, interrupting your browsing experience. When you need it, it's not available. I find that they've increased the chat availability a little bit. It shows up a little more during business hours than it has in the past. The time it shows up the most is in the wee hours, like 11p PST, 2a PST... They also tend to have it up when there is a new rollout. It doesn't seem like there's dedicated chat operators. I'm convinced to chat when they're not as busy. This would explain why it's often very available in the middle of the nite.

The phone line is open 24 hours, so if I need measurements or have a question I get on the phone when the chat doesn't show up.

  39. I apologize for not posting this code this morning, when I logged in to the site to do my stalking at 8am (a la well-fed-fred, for me it was the Supperclub Dress) I saw the code posted along the top of the site and assumed everyone saw it.
I don't ever remember a Canada only promo before, I think it's a bit shocking actually. What are the US customers, chopped liver?

    1. Dani, I saw the email and thought the same thing, that everyone would know about it. I came here and saw Autumn's comment and thought that any minute now Alexis would put up a post on that topic. Very surprising and I hope it is not a trend to have country-specific promos.

  40. Carolyn from Vancouver here.
I placed an order this morning. I ordered the camel/cable sweater dress and the feather paisley skirt (both items I saw on DaniMP and really liked) Also the navy/green stripe sweater dress ( SAW THIS ON ONE MORE SHOPPING BLOG), a byzantine blue one piece swim suit, a navy open stitched cardi,a navy polo t-shirt and the cashmere t-shirt dress in poppy.
I found I was not getting the 30% promo so I called and place the order on the phone.
Billing address is Canada...but I had it shipped to the border town near here. By doing this I saved $ because US customers pay less despite our dollar parity and then the 30% promo to boot. I did not know the promo was for only Canadians...and they didn't tell me anything on the phone. Now only hope I like what I ordered...as most of it will be for next fall/winter. thanks to all US & Canadian JCA's Carolyn

  57. Completely OT, but I am trying to figure out what size No. 2 Pencil Skirt I would wear (I've never purchased one before, but am absolutely in love with the Sovereign Paisley Print). I would try to figure it out myself, but I am currently 8 months pregnant and can in no way get an accurate feel for sizing. Pre-pregnancy I wore skirts that had 29-30" waists so was thinking an 8, but was told that this item runs slightly large and received the recommendation to size down to a 6 from a SA. If anyone who is a similar measurement or who can speak more to this could give me some input it would be greatly appreciated. Similarly, do the cafe capris tend to have similar fits as the No. 2 Pencil Skirts?
    Thanks so much!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Stacy - I think you should go for a 6 in the skirt. I wore 29" and 30" waist skirts from J Crew and took a size 4 in many cases. I wore them low on the hip. This skirt is meant to be worn higher. I thought I tried it on, but I can't find a pic. I'm 7 mo postpartum.

If you got to this post on my blog & keyword search sovereign paisley, you will see links to other blogger irl pics. There are 6 links to other bloggers for the skirt & 3 links to other bloggers for the capris. Even if they don't describe fit, you can see their body type and hopefully that will help. If you want to discuss postpartum fit, you can email me gigiofca@gmail
