J.Crew of Season's Past: {a look in the closet}

It's that time again, to take a look at an image of J.Crew pieces from seasons past! As caribbelle (in this post) so beautifully termed, "ye olde j crew of yore".

This post features the Batik Turtle Clea Tank (Item 94197; $78.00). This top may be "too cute" for some JCAs. Personally, I think it is an adorable top that is perfect for a trip to the beach, thanks to its batik-print turtle.

What are your thoughts on the look(s)/item(s) from the past? Do you find the look(s)/item(s) classic or do you think they are dated?

  1. Classic- Love! I have this tank in both the red and blue version and look forward to wearing them every summer--such cool breezy tops to wear in hot summer months. In fact, I love this cross back style all around. I also have the patchwork madras and the Talitha cami, and several dresses in the same x-back style and they are some of my very favorite pieces ever from J Crew.

  2. I agree with Egyptomaniac about the tank style. It works well as a layer under sweaters in the spring, and is comfy on hot & humid summer days.

  3. My Talitha cami and patchwork madras top are laid out next to my suitcase for an upcoming trip to Florida.

    My husband is begging me to pack lightly, and I'm "trying," but these tops are definitely making the trip. I'm probably going to wear one under a Jackie sweater on the plane. I am an overpacker, and I can't stand the tighter baggage restrictions. DH is hoping that the two of us and our three children can share 3 large suitcases. Ha, ha, ha....

    So jealous of those of you who proudly share your gorgeous polyvore packing lists!

  4. I have always loved this print but have never been able to score any of the pieces on eBay. Still, I suspect that if I got any of them, I might just hang them in my closet and admire them like art without actually wearing them ... unless maybe I was on a beach vacation or something. Love it though!

  5. I have always thought this print was so cute, and actually had this top a couple years ago. However, I ended up selling it because the style just was not/is not flattering for my body type, unfortunately.

  8. Just scored this top in the turtle print a few weeks ago on ebay! Sizes ran a lot smaller back then. I'm usually swimming in a 0, but I could barely get this tank over my chest.
