Happy New Year J.Crew Aficionadas & Aficionados!
I want to take a moment to wish everyone a wonderful new year! {yey!} I look forward to celebrating the up-coming 2012 J.Crew collections with you all. :)
As usual, this post is to find out what everyone is planning to wear tonight. I know I have mentioned this before, but I also really enjoy these posts. I find it interesting to see how other Aficionadas and Aficionados style certain pieces, providing me wonderful ideas for future outfits. :) So for this post, what we are planning to wear during New Years Eve and/or New Years Day? :)
What are you planning to wear this New Year (Eve or Day)? Are you planning to go "head to toe" J.Crew or parts J.Crew?
Thanks you, Alexis, for another wonderful year of work on this blog.
ReplyDeleteI am going to drag out an old favorite, the liquid gold sequin skirt to wear with a thick sweater and tights and roadster boots like this for a casually festive get-together with the family.
Happy new year to you and all the JCAs! Keep safe, everyone.
Hi! I just started following your blog! I recently fell in love with J Crew and have been shopping online, in the stores and in the outlets non stop!
ReplyDeleteThanks for such a entertaining and informative blog!
I just started mine too! I will be posting some reviews about J Crew soon, so please hop by if you can at www.aprettythought.com
Thanks again!
Thanks for such a great place to talk JC! I'm going rogue on NYE and wearing the MaxStudio scarf print sleveless dress I bought early last month for the Clyfford Still Museum opening party in Denver, plus JC black tights and these black t-straps by Francesco Morichetti that I just love. My (now, as of 6-months)husband and I just get a room at the Sofitel every year and play it by ear for my b-day, which is 1/1. Happy New Year everyone!!!
ReplyDeleteI plan to wear J.Crew sequins, of course.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year everyone!
Happy New Year, Alexis!
ReplyDeleteHaya bead and sequin sweatshirt and matchstick jeans, since we are staying in.
I too am wearing J.Crew sequins! The Gold sequin skirt from Holiday 2010 with black tights and heels, with this cute black top from Anthropologie that has lace sleeves and an open back. Happy New Year!!
ReplyDeleteI am actually diverting off to Banana Republic for my top - a lovely champagne coloured sequin swirl top which I will will dress down (a la Jenna!) with my Saturday pants and Lula sequin ballet flats - we are staying in and watching movies, but there will also be some fireworks in the backyard, so will keep the wellies by the back door!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year Everyone! :)
ReplyDeleteI won't be dressing up tonight because I am sick but, I just wanted to take a moment to thank everyone and especially Alexis for this wonderful blog.It is so well done and beautiful. I have been following for about 8 months and have only joined in once. I will be joining in more now.(I have a lot to offer. I buy way too much j. crew) I have loved j. crew for years and thought there was something wrong with me and my enthusiasm for all things J. Crew. I always know more about the merchandise than the SA's and they are always looking at me puzzled when I talk about items on the website. I was so excited when I found this blog and realized there were others out there just like me...that there was nothing wrong with me. Happy New Year everyone and Thank you all for making me feel normal. Be safe.
ReplyDeleteI might wear my Midnight Skirt (black/blue version of the taffeta rugby skirt).
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year, Alexis! Thank you for this blog. It literally makes my day, everyday.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely wearing j.crew tonight! haven't decided exactly what yet...but since that's the only option I have in my closet, I have no choice! haha
ReplyDeleteAlexis, what is the picture from? Looks like the cover of a catalogue - but not one that I recognize.
Hubs and I are staying home with our little ones (5 and 3). I'll probably be wearing my sequin sweatshirt (from 2010) and my boyfriend jeans. Not too exciting.
ReplyDeleteAlexis, I want to add my thanks for all the work you do on this blog. It's awesome! Looking forward to 2012 and much more J Crew.
Alexis, cheers and thank you for another wonderful year of JCA. You have created an amazing community and your work on the blog is so appreciated!
ReplyDeleteI am going to a New Year's wedding tonight! Wearing J. Crew sequins and cashmere.
Happy New Year all!
Just staying in. So - gray matchstick cords, pinkish ruffled perfect fit henley, a Loft drapey cardi in beige with pink and navy stripe trim and some sparkly post earrings from Anthro.
ReplyDeleteI want to add my thanks to Alexis, too. And to all of you who take the time to share your tips, tricks and reviews.
I wish you all a happy 2012.
Happy New Year everyone! And Alexis, thank you so much for all you do for all of us here! Not sure what I am wearing yet as it is warmer than I expected - might be the JC Stardust pencil skirt in copper with a cami and
ReplyDeleteJC tuxedo jacket.
Happy New Year to everyone!!! We have dinner and maybe a movie w/our kids and some family friends and their kids. So, nothing too dressy. But am thinking about that gold Jacquard 3/4 sleeve top from last year w/flare jeans and my fabulous Tory Burch beige clog boots.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year to all the JCAs!
ReplyDeleteWe are going to a "Mad Men" themed party, so I am wearing a JC LBD with pointy pumps, pearls, and my JC opera gloves, with my hair in an Audrey Hepburn twist. (Actually, other than the gloves, that's how I dress pretty much every day for work!)
Have a happy and safe holiday, everyone.
Alexis thank you so much for this blog. I know I have made better J Crew decisions from the reviews and in store deals from so many people on here.
ReplyDeleteI will be wearing a J Crew pencil skirt from '09 that is very shimmery. Not sure what it is called, but very holiday looking :) I will be paring this with a J Crew tank and a dark green Jackie. Can't forget the shoes...the best part of the outfit will be my satin buckle pumps in toasted honey.
Just wanted to chime in on the new years wishes!
ReplyDeleteI'll be wearing an anthropologie dress tonight, but one of the best xmas gifts was my viridian pencil skirt shipping early!
It's a stunning colour!
Just a casual night in with about 5 couples so I am planning on a pair of rolled up/torn James Jeans and a heathered grey French terry tunic from this past fall (can't remember the name) along with my twisted magpie necklace from spring 2010... And the best part: my sylvie snakeskin pumps that I snagged for under $100 at the michigan ave store in November and have been saving for a special first outing.
ReplyDeleteI'm planning true religion jeans, Christian Louboutin glitter número prive pumps, fur vest and tippi sweater
ReplyDeleteI am doing the quiet evening at home thing with the hubby -- matchsticks, cami and metallic cardi. 'Tis rather boring. My 15-year-old daughter, however, is waltzing outa here in MY slouchy sequin tee and what she calls her "Kesha" jeans, and her first pair of heeled boots that she received at Christmas. She does not look boring. Heaven help me! Hahaha!
ReplyDeleteOops! Forgot to add my thanks to Alexis for providing us with this most excellent forum. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteI am indeed celebrating with J Crew: my black zippered Minnies, with a striped Co-op sweater. We're just going to the neighbors for cheap wine and Cheetos, but it will be fun. Thank you for this blog, Alexis, and Happy New Year to you and to all JCAs =)
ReplyDeleteI wore my Sequin Stardust Pencil Skirt for Christams eve.--so have fun wearing yours Suzy tonight! ;)
ReplyDeleteAlthough I am working this eve. I still am rocking the Crew with the Royal Paisley Purple Perfect shirt and my Lexington Blazer in cream with yellow piping! J. Crew is a ubiquitous force in my life! I LOVE my primarily J. Crew wardrobe--and I LOVE this J. Crew Blog!!!! Happy New Year All!
Alexis, thank you so much for your time and true devotion to this blog. It makes me smile every single day.
ReplyDeleteStaying in tonight with my baby, but I'm still rollin' J Crew--black mini pants, sequin pocket tissue tee and black shawl collar sweater.
Happy 2012!!!
I'm laughing as I get dressed this evening as I realize JC has taken over my wardrobe. BJD, I completely relate to knowing more than the SA's. Can you say fanatical? I was shopping the new arrivals thursday morning, standing in flooded timber before the morning duck hunt began. I'm grateful Alexis for your wonderful blog and this community reassuring me I'm not the only one!
ReplyDeleteMy husband and I will be going to a casual get together with friends. I'm wearing the copper stardust sequin skirt, thick black tights, Frye Paige flat boots in slate, JC black cashmere turtleneck topped with the alabaster(kind of a pink undertone) zip-up hoodie, and a ivory & grey striped metallic scarf from several seasons ago. Oh, and the marissa cuff bracelet in grey.
I love the "high-low" style I've learned from JC.
Happy New Year JCAs!!!
Big neighborhood party at our clubhouse. Will be decked out and dancing the night away in my "vinatage" JCrew:) Happy New Years Everyone!
ReplyDeleteStaying in with the Family tonight ! JCrew PJ's :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Alexis for such a Wonderful Blog!! I also am obsessed with all things JCrew and it's nice to log on everyday and read what other fellow JCrew obsessers are obsessing about :)
Happy New Year!!

ReplyDeleteI'm late to the party, but I wore a Club Monaco sequined mini skirt with my black Tippi sweater, black tights and black Martina wedges to a casual house party last night. So much JC to choose from!

ReplyDeleteCheers to all and a Happy Healthy 2012!
Hm, Blogger seems to have eaten my original comment, so I'll try again. Best wishes for a very Happy New Year, Alexis! Thanks for all of your hard work in maintaining this blog. This is such an amazing community! And Happy New Year to all JCAs!
ReplyDeleteBringing up the rear in this thread ... it was a JC NYE in my house, but it was jeans and a tee for me, lol. No energy to party this year!
ReplyDeleteI did want to share that while visiting the 'rents last week, the Crewlet in Clinton, CT was having a hefty sale. Was told the minute I stepped in that all markdowns were an additional 40% off and that everything in the store was 20% off. So yes, some items were like 60% off. I died!
I got a Factory wool Caryn dress for $32 and I put it up against its retail sister (which I found two sizes smaller at the epic Chapel Hill sample sale for $20) when I got home, and they're virtually identical, but for the 4% lycra in the Factory version. Ticketed price was $128.
Overall I'm not a big fan of Factory, but I knew this dress was a steal. It's still online for $98 ...? I'll get a LOT of use out of it all year long! I also got some socks and a tee, and a few odds and ends for my sister, who didn't feel like waiting in the huge line. Had been hoping to score some flannel PJs but alas, none left in my size.
LOL- my verification word is 'crying' ... yes, I will be crying when my holiday bills roll in, LOL.
Last but not least, a huge THANK YOU to Alexis for this fabulous blog --I know I say it all the time, but I am so happy to be among friends here. :)
Happy New Year Alexis and all the JCAs. I wish you a safe and wonderful year.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year to you Alexis and to everyone else as well. 2012 is going to rock!
