The Minnie. Otherwise known as the magic pant (because it looks that good on everyone). Pair it with a crisp button-down for work or a feminine top for a night out- either way, finish with a cool military jacket.
The Skimmer. Your new go-to in seven stylish colors for every day of the week. Jenna Says. Wear the skimmer with your boyfriend's chambray shirt (untucked with the sleeves rolled) and a wedge sandal (they're back and better than ever).
The second section features the {questionable} choices of the Painter Scout Chino & Matchstick Pants. They share the following tidbits:The Painter Scout Chino. Overall, I like the concept of the marketing piece. I think it is great to offer some styling suggestions. I just question some of the choices (like the destroyed jeans), and the high-low pairings (of painted chinos with a delicate sequin top).

ReplyDeleteMy online personal shopper sent this card to me last week. I thought it was interesting. I didn't find it much different from catalog information, however. And considering that I wear a size 14 pant, and most of those pants only go up to size 12, I thought it was a bit odd that she sent it to me. (She places all my orders, so knows my sizes.) It was a nice gesture, however.

ReplyDeleteWork- and seasonally-appropriate pants (at a reasonable price!) used to be such a strong point for JC, but with each passing season, they just seem to get trendier and less versatile. Boo!
The first two pairs are ok, but the painted chinos are ridiculous and the destroyed jeans aren't much better. Who in their right mind would wear paint spattered chinos with a sequin top to a dressy event? Sometimes I think the JC designers are becoming a bit out of touch with the real world and their customers' real life needs. As A posted, work-appropriate clothes, especially pants, are getting hard to find at JC.
ReplyDeleteYes, why every style cropped and/or tapered/skinny pants? How about some other styles (ie. trouser) for people who want work-appropriate pants or are not into the skinny pant trend?
