Off On A Tangent: Gap's Offer For Friends & More

Don't worry, I am still all about the Crew! But sometimes there are codes from other retailers that might be useful for some J.Crew Aficionadas & Aficionados, like now...
"Thanks!" to Dina who shared the following email from the Gap. They are offering 20% off regular priced items on all orders (no minimum) with promo code FRIEND. This offer expires 4/29/09.

"Thanks!" also to jbird (in this post) who shared the following:
  • Gap is offering 20% off regular priced items on all orders (no minimum) with promo code 1FORYOU. This offer expires 5/10/09.
  • Macy's is offering 25% off (with a few exceptions) with promo code MACYSFF. This offer is from 4/29/09 to 5/4/09.
  • Origins is offering 25% off with promo code FFMAY4. This offer is from 4/28/09 to 5/5/09.

  1. This has nothing to do with this post... but, jcrew shipping terminology. I ordered some items on Friday the status is "released" and when I click the order the status says "open" anyone have a definition of what either of those mean? I placed the order 4 days ago.

    Thanks!

  3. Howell,

I would call them. I have had a "released" and then "open" twice and both times, my orders were lost in transit. When you call make sure that someone actually checks on your order with the shipping dept rather than tell you everything is ok. I have found that some CS reps don't want to deal with it and tell you that your order will arrive shortly and it never comes.

  5. Since we're already off on a tangent, have you noticed that Banana Republic has been ranking their items by how opaque they are? I love this feature! I wish JCrew would adopt it as well. It really helps for online shopping so you can assess if you need a layering piece before you buy the item.

  6. Anon@8:41 - I didn't know that. Good eye. That should prove to be helpful when shopping. JCrew won't adopt a similar descriptor. They would have to list waaaay too many sweaters as sheer.
