Crewcuts Email: Top Picks From Our Crewcuts Designer

"Thanks!" to Marietta, who shared Crewcuts latest email. Crewcuts sent an email with their top "Cooper Picks". In particular, the email states: "Jenny Cooper, Crewcuts Designer and mom of two, picks her favorites from our Spring lineup".

I would totally wear any of those looks for girls! In particular, I am loving that orange tulle pixie ballet skirt. I think both the color and shape is darling!

Happy {weekend} shopping!

  1. You are so funny - b/c I agree with you. I actually polyvored the little cardigan (top right) I liked it so much! WHY don't they make those for us, darn it!!!

  2. I know this isn't the exchange post(s) but I am desperately looking for the classic pattern ballet flats in bright sun in size 7.5. I have them in size 8 that have never been worn (just purchased in case I couldn't get a 7.5). I completely misread this shoe - didn't think it would be such a hit & be sold out so quickly. anyone have the 7.5 and want to swap? Please post here if you are interested .

  3. I was just at the collection store. The SA first told me that the new Crewcuts store is opening next week, and this Tuesday and Wednesday there will be a trunk show. The store is located at 88th and Madison in NYC.

Also, new arrivals in store on Tuesday!! yey!!!

  4. Cute!

My 4yo daughter has a similar pink tulle skirt from Old Navy that she wears all the time, its one of my favorites.

  5. I agree, Alexis. I really wish some of the Crewcuts stuff was also made for adults. I love a lot of the styles. I also feel this way about the toddler/girl clothes that Gap and Old Navy offer. I am often envious of my daughter for the cute clothes she has to choose from!

  6. Which store is having a trunk show? CrewCuts or Collection store?

  7. To me, the orange skirt looks a lot like the gateau skirt, just different fabric. I always see the crewcuts for girls as "knockoffs" of the women's line. Sometimes there are different details but they are pretty close in style and sometimes the exactly same, like the Joley peep toes.

  8. they are just so cute! I got my daughter her first crewcuts piece a couple weeks ago - a totally adorably pink skirt (similar to email, but brighter pink). She is absolutely thrilled with it!

  9. I adore Crewcuts and my kids have a lot of it (almost all from FS last year when they got old enough to wear Crewcuts and it was 50% during FS:)
What is funny about this promo is that some of this stuff has been on sale at my B&M for over a month? I got the gathered skirt last month for approx $16 each (had to have 2!) but missed out on the terry cardigan as it sold out quickly in my daughters size. I agree that is something that I would wear too-So cute!

  10. OT but but not sure where to post ... Land's End is having a Friends and Family Event right now w 30% off all regular-priced merch. Their kids' stuff is cute and bullet-proof, I ordered great sport sandals, and SPF 50 Sun Life swimsuits and tops for my kids. Worth a look.

I looked for myself too, their quality and guarantee is top notch BUT as we've said before, a little dowdy on the adult side, as a rule. Anyway HTH someone.

  11. I agree! Some of the crewcuts I wish they would make for adults, so cute. Or, make them in bigger sizes, like my sis can wear a size XL kids item!

  12. Yes, my daughter has lots of Crewcuts but Land's End quality and guarantee beats JCrew by a mile. I have been buying more Land's End as a result.

  13. Re:Lands End - is there a code for the 30% Friends and Family? I can't seem to find anything in their web regarding that. TIA.

  15. Another great Land's End perk. Place your order. If you want to add anything to your order you have until 10:00pm Central time to do so---I have done this many times...It is so wonderful! CS is always great. I have never met a rude or unhelpful rep in the 16 years I have bought from them. (cannot say the same for JCrew by a long shot!)

  18. Their clothes are soooo cute!! I need to hit when they have a final sale (store in Dallas) so I can go back to school shopping.

For all you ladies does anyone here have the perfect fit corsage tee. Thinking either the beachwood or the dark mushroom. Thoughts would be helpful. Thanks

  19. Crewcuts are cute, but way, way overpriced for something a kid is going to grow out of. I also sometimes question whether j.crew realizes happy playful children are (rightfully) hell on their clothes - they don't just stand around in photo shoots.

I need a first and last name to be able to forward the Lands End coupon. If you post your name (or an alias) I will forward you the email. My Lands End email says that they will not use your name unless you subscribe.

PS I am a new Anonymous, not someone who previously posted.

  21. Anon @ 12:06, I could not have said it better myself! While poufy tulle skirts are totally adorable, having my daughters actually wear them without ruining them and/or complaining of itchiness is completely unrealistic. I live in the land of REALITY, where kids wear cheap, stretchy, machine washable stuff from TCP, ON, etc. Even special occassions such as Easter & Christmas present endless opportunities for them to climb trees with cousins, eat frosted cupcakes, and other things that just don't work with tulle. Sorry to be such a wet blanket, everybody! :)

  22. One of the little girls in my class (I teach Pre-K) has a lot of crewcuts clothes and she always looks so cute! The skirts are puffy and colorful just like the pictures.

I recently bought a schoolboy blazer from the boys' collection and I love it. It fits like a cropped jacket, and I got the "I stole this from my little brother" sort of style.

On another note, I got the Boden Kids catalog in the mail yesterday... they have some cute things for kids, too (and less pricey than crewcuts).

  23. In a bizarre twist - I was at a crewcuts/j crew store this weekend and found that I can fit a girls size 8 t shirt. It was made from some kind of slub cotton fabric. The best part? They were 9.95 or something! For reference I am 100lbs and 5'2" on a good day....

I'm the same hieght/weight as you so maybe I'll fit in Crewcuts as well! Exciting to know : )

  26. Totally OT from Crewcuts - sorry! But I was wondering if anyone had any tips on how to prevent jeans from stretching out. I have had my Joe's for less than 6 months and they look 2 sizes too big!! I have never had any luck with this...I stopped buying J. Crew jeans because I thought it was just the, but it's not. Is it better to line dry or put them in the dryer? Thanks in advance, ladies!

  27. Hi all! Just got back from the Asheville NC b&m...they have a TON of Michelle Cardis for $19.99--many colors and sizes! Also a bunch of rolling ruffle tanks in many sizes (sorry--didn't look at price!) Tons of Silk Garland camis @ $49.99. They still have about 5-6 size 8 Gladiola Pencil skirts for $49.99. Still a bunch of french terry cardis ($29.99) and Library Shawl cardis ($39.99). No extra % off but they will prob. let you use your red card over the phone if you call. Good luck!

    Their # is (828) 274-3995.

  28. to K:

I wear Joe's Jeans as well. The best thing to do is get them dry cleaned. My dry cleaner charges $4 for jeans so it doesn't break my bank. I get them dry cleaned about once every two weeks. You should try to wear your jeans as long as possible before cleaning/washing them (unless they are really dirty). Every time you launder jeans w/ lycra or elastane, the fiber stretches out more and more.

I have also washed my Joe's jeans and they haven't stretched out. Wash them in delicate cycle, low spin. Don't put them in the dryer. Hang them up to dry or lay them over your shower curtain rod. I hope this helps!

P.S. What style Joe's do you wear? I read that some cuts tend to stretch more than others. I wear the Cigarette style. They are already slim, so maybe that's why I haven't had any problems.

  29. I love love crewcuts... I just bought some accessories (hair clip) from them; even though I wanted to have headband too, but still unsure about the size. There's no crewcuts here around me, so I couldn't imagined the size of tees which I like the style so much.

Someone pls suggest the size for 5'3" 105 lbs with 32B...it'll be really appreciated.

  34. Linda,
Thanks so much! I have never tried having them dry cleaned. If they are already fairly stretched out, do you think there is much of a chance of restoring them to what they originally were? I have 2 styles, one is the provocateur, and I'm not sure what the other pair is. I read on some forums that Paige denim rarely stretches, I might them soon.
Thanks so much for the advice!

  35. i love crewcuts (as does my 4 1/2 yr old daughter) but the quality doesn't quite stand up to her climbing and jumping and twirling and running around -- it's better than old navy or gap, but mini boden's clothes last much longer for her and seem like their fabric quality and/or stitching quality (don't have to stitch anything back together) is higher.

she wore one of their silk dresses for my wife and my wedding last fall and won't wear it again because it's her "wedding" dress and she's saving it just like my wife and i are saving our wedding dresses -- it's awfully cute.

  36. I think the crewcuts girls tights are the best around! My daughter turned two on Christmas eve, and she couldn't be more active. She is "allergic" to socks, so she wears tights under everything for warmth, so I pick up pairs on sale whenever I find them in her size and above. JC's are amazing! The prints are so cute and they really, REALLY hold up. She just got big enough to wear them this winter, so I'm really happy to start her on the crewlade. Now when we go into the local store, she mentions that things look like her clothes. It's really funny, and fun especially since my DH couldn't give a toss, it's great to have a built in shopping buddy!
