Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

    3. Thank you, jan and Fran. I am surprised that there are not many takers. I truly have more than I need and I feel bad keeping all of it!

  2. I have no plans to buy anything until all my packages have arrived... Still waiting for a few items I reordered to be delivered and a few returns to be processed.

  3. I was hoping to go do my returns next week, since the stores in NJ were supposed to open. However, 'inside' mall stores (like our J Crew) are not allowed to open. I have given up and am now shipping back 5 packages. Supposedly the shipping fees will be waived, but I expect a struggle.

Honestly, how is a J Crew shop too dangerous but the middle of a 30,000 SQ foot Walmart is safe?

    1. I just sent mine in today’s mail too. It would be nice if they opened the mail for walking and had “curbside” or window drop off and pickup available, even if stores weren’t fully open.

    2. My closest store (two hours away) was closed when I made that drive, but they had signs standing at the front of the store that said, "Welcome Back" and listing all of the usual precautions taken. They also had a sign that said there was curbside service. All you had to do was call the store's number, but no one was there. I have called each day since my trip on Monday, but there is no answer.

The returns by mail have been a complete disaster for me. Eventually I get them ironed out, but I have not had this problem with others.

    3. I tried to mail back a return via UPS (Canada) and ups had run out of envelopes/packaging! I couldn’t believe it, they may not get more for 3 weeks. They said I could use a garbage bag as a mailer. I went home and reused a Purolator bag that came a couple of weeks ago. I’m waiting on a Jcrew package and will keep the bag this time in case.
There are only 2 Jcrew stores left in Canada and both are allowed to open since they aren’t in malls but neither has yet.

    4. I try to save most of our mailers and small boxes for poshmark and returns but it can get a little tricky at times.

      Wishing everyone luck with returns!

    5. USPS always has free materials if you're ever out! You can even boxes to be delivered to your house - still free. I try to reuse stuff I get in my orders, but sometimes I don't have the right sizes.

  5. Are returns getting better? I want to send back the Daphne coat I bought that ended up being too big, but I also don't want the experience many of you described with mailing stuff back.

    1. I haven't noticed returns getting better since I have problems with every one of them. To be honest, I had problems before the Great Virus, which is why I would drive (two hours) once a month to make returns to the nearest store.

    2. i haven’t had any problems other than the known issues, such as slow processing times and not all orders in the same box being processed at the same time. I personally think they should be waiving return fees for all orders until every store reopens like other companies are doing, but that’s a policy issue not a problem with the returns.

    3. If you are sending back only one order, things will likely work out. If you include more than one order in the return, here are things to watch for:

      1. You should only be charged the $7.50 for ONE order, and that will be the return shipping label that you use. I use the shipping label for the return with the highest dollar amount since that is the one that will get credited first. I have been charged $7.50 for every order included in one box, so that is one of the reasons I end up calling CS.

      2. They are very slow to credit items from other orders included in a return shipment. Sometimes they didn't credit them at all. Another reason to call CS.

      3. If you are returning an item that you repurchased at a lower price (since no price adjustments are allowed these days), you need to make sure that the item you purchased at the higher price is the one that gets credited. This happens to me all the time, and I do include all of the proper paperwork. They should be crediting items from the order number you are returning. I'm not sure why they system goes to another order, but it does. Makes no sense to me.

      4. I keep a record of what was contained in each box. In fact, I assign numbers to each return and keep all of my own paperwork organized with the UPS receipt stapled to the order for which I used the return shipping label.

      5. When packing things up, I bundle multiple items from each order together with the paperwork for that return taped on.

Is all of this necessary? Well, I can't say that it has helped me, but at least I know that I am doing all I can to avoid confusion. It helps to be organized when I make my calls to customer service. I can tell them which order number had the shipping label and all of the order numbers included in that box. Of course, I have all of the tracking info at hand.

Last of all, I include a zip lock bag with packs of M&Ms and a hand-sanitizing wipe and write "Thank You" on the bag. No, I don't expect this to help anything, but it is what I have been putting in all of my returns to every retailer. I just think it might be nice to discover a little surprise for the person who unpacks the box.

      I hope this is helpful.

    5. Thank you, all. I may try it with a small order to start.
