Seek & Find: Will you visit J.Crew this Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopping by a J.Crew store this weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

P.S. I noticed that many of you have already been reporting sale items (and in which stores) in other posts which by the way "thank you!" :) I really appreciate how helpful we are for each other!

  1. I wore my new navy and white flowered Liberty print shirt today. I really like it and I expect I'll wear it a lot. I'm trying to transition the main neutral in my wardrobe from black to navy, as I feel like black looks too stark on me as I get older.

    1. When you wear a black top then soften it up with some color by your face - a scarf or a colored jacket, bright necklace or earrings.

    2. Jeanne, I bought the same navy and white Liberty shirt - twins!! I love it and glad I'm keeping it ( was on the fence about returning...but am wearing it today and I love it too much!)

    3. i like that is was a navy and not black. but it feels so thin. I find it hard to pay $$ for this shirt . but i am happy others are enjoying it.

    4. Jennifer - I hesitated ordering it since I already have a similar off white and navy Liberty shirt from 2012, but I'm glad I decided to buy it. My Liberty shirts seem to last forever!

    5. p banos - Great idea. It's usually too hot for a second layer here on the Gulf coast, but I'm really going to try to wear all my pretty silk scarves as much as possible this winter. I think I need to start being one of those women who ties her hair up with a beautiful scarf.

    6. The shirt was actually ringing up with the 30% which surprised me because usually Liberty shirts are excluded.

  2. Ijust want to thank everyone for their help with my what to wear to a wedding question yesterday. I have a lot of info to digest! Although, the one thing I'm sure of is wearing flats (because of the backyard nature of the wedding). Thanks, ladies!!

  3. I'll be making a return tonight, trying to decide whether I should go to Brookfield or to the Fifth Avenue store. I feel like I've already seen all the new arrivals at Brookfield, which has no sale section. Fifth Avenue is farther for me, but it has a sale section and a dedicated window for returns.
I'm trying to checkout online with a popback... getting error messages when I try to go through Ebates and separately when I try to use my catalog promo code. Anyone else having problems?

    2. Really? It's not an error message like.. the code is invalid. It's an Internal Server 500 error... like a bad HTML link.

  4. American Express offer:
"Get a one-time $15 statement credit by using your enrolled Card to spend a minimum of $75+ in one or more transactions in-store at J.Crew or online at jcrew.com by 1/16/2019. See terms for exclusions."

    1. No J.Crew offer available on my Amex. 😢

  5. @Jeanne, I’have it on mine. Also eligible Madewell and JCRew Mercantile. Amex Gold Card Premier Rewards and Platinum. Look further on your offers as there are many depending on the type of Amex you may have.

    1. AmEx Offers are targeted. I've missed out on Walmart/Target offers.

    2. I checked again but my offer "Excludes corporate gift card purchases, transactions made at international locations or websites, J Crew Factory, J Crew Mercantile, and Madewell purchases, in-store shopping events & purchases made at pop-up shops."

Would have been great if Madewell were included.

    3. 3ppm - I think they target people who don't have a history of using their Amex at a particular store. I've used my Amex at J.Crew about a million times, lol.

  6. New beautiful print alert! was just at Brookfield and there’s a new silk twill Collection button down. It looks Drake-ish but it’s not. Light green with pink floral sand gray tigers. It’s on kristymayn’s IG but it’s not as dark as photographed and it’s beautiful in person. The person in front of me at the register bought it and I was so taken with it that after my return, I grabbed one and went right back to the register without trying it on. It’s 30% off and the promo code from the catalog works with it (I think I could have used both but I didn’t have the second one with me). So excited to try it on when I get home!

    1. Cool! When I saw the shirt on Kristy’s IG, it reminded me of the Drakes for J.Crew silk shirt I own. The oxblood color w creatures in it. Can’t wait to see it online.
      I still haven’t received my style guide.😕

  7. Use code THESKIMM for an additional 20% off- stacks with the current reward member promo.
    Two recent gems for me:
The navy side button trench, and the Liberty print Tretorn sneakers.

    1. Do you know how long that code is good for?

    2. The Liberty print sneakers! That's a great choice. You may have inspired me to place an order...

    3. Alexis’ page shows the code & it’s good through 9/18 until 11:59 pm ET.

    4. As of today (9/17) theskimm is now invalid.

  8. Help! Remember how J.Crew’s website had the promo advertised on top of the screen when you view it from your smartphone. Now that the website has a new layout, I can’t find where I can click on the promo’s rules! I always like to know when a promo ends, and it was easy to see it on top of the page...now I feel lost and can’t find it! Ugh 😑

  9. Question about the new sweater blazer: I LOVED last year's Open-front sweater blazer - I got it in black and wore it almost every day through the fall and winter. I was hoping to get a second one in the camel color, but it looks like this year's version (now called Sophie sweater blazer) is no longer merino wool but rather cotton/poly/wool. Is this the same fabric as last summer's "light weight" sweater blazer? How does the quality compare with the original merino version? I generally avoid knit blends, as I usually feel they are more likely to pill & deteriorate with time... any reviews from JCA who have had these for a while?
For what it's worth, the merino one is still perfect despite very heavy use: it's keeping its shape and has zero pills. I wish I had bought both colors last year!

  10. I received the collection cable sweater this week and I’m pretty sure it’s a return. Something about the dolman type sleeve that makes it feel bulky. Such a beautiful design and love the fabric. Have to try on with a few things to be sure. Since codes are stacking I’m going to try the poppy leopard flats and the bow tie striped shirt. Also, if you like Kate Spade they are having 30% off. I’ve got my eye on the Camilla blouse.

  11. Just wanted to mention that for oktober rollout there will be a collab with sweater designer Demy Lee. I am a big fan of her and wanted to own one of her sweater for a while.

  12. Really good article over at YouLookFab from 9/13 listing the womens’ retailers and brands that Angie has found to have the most consistent quality over time for her clients. Her definition of quality is not “just out of the box,” do the seams look straight, but rather, how well does the garment fabric and construction last and look good through multiple wears and laundering cycles. No surprise Boden makes the list, so does Madewell! J Crew does not, though Angie specifically notes something that JCAs all know - J Crew coats and jackets from 10 years ago were almost-couture quality and still look beautiful.
