Sought & Found: Did you visit J.Crew this {past} Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopped by a J.Crew store this past weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store was/ is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

  1. I just did a bunch of returns. One was actually a real return (looked awful on me) but the other stuff was just sizing issues. There's been a number of things I've gotten that I'm really happy with. Fall is my favorite time of year for shopping so I'm hoping I see more goodies in the next roll out. (This week?)

  2. I received a new arrivals sneak peek email this morning. Here is the link: https://www.jcrew.com/c/womens_feature/EarlyAccess?rmid=F18_Sep_0924_W_JCR_Early_Access_New_Arrivals_US&rrid=1760200&srcCode=Email|Responsys|Loyalty|EMSL12105&utm_source=responsys&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=F18_Sep_0924_W_JCR_Early_Access_New_Arrivals_US&utm_content=Loyalty

    1. Thanks for the link Tiffany! Does anyone else think that it looks very Madewell-ish? I like Madewell but I love Jcrew! That being said I do love the look of that cozy Plaid front pocket sweater.

    2. I felt it looked a little too Madewell as well. I was really hoping there would be some wool pencil skirts in fall colors this roll out.

    3. hoping the perfect turtle necks and tissue turtle necks have not been changed from previous years. for 40% off the canadian price they are pretty well priced. that is if the quality is the same as previous years. if anyone has any insider info on these...it would be appreciated . I would like to order...but after return debacles I am holding off....feel like a serial returner.

    4. There is a lot I like, but I didn't work this weekend and haven't seen anything in person. My favorite is the drapey shirt in velvet. I hope it is a nice velvet which is indeed drapey. The point sur silk popover is very similar to one of my favorite J Crew items of all time that I had to retire, so I'm pleased to see that, and in silk, although the sleeves may be too short for my liking. Another item of interest is the velvet blazer in gentle sea.

The sweaters are out for me due to fabric content (unless the price gets very low), and I only do critters when embroidered (I see you dog shirt!).

Overall, I think there is a lot to look at and like this rollout, online. Just my two cents!

    5. Love the red boots. i just can't pull it off. wish i could. i would order them right now. with 40% off pretty good.

    6. Looks like there might be some other pants not shown, but aside from that I also love the red boots, but I feel that's a difficult style/silhouette to pull off at least for me.
Disappointed in the acrylic and nylon in the sweaters. Regularly worn I find they tend to look pretty bad after a few wears. I have a sweater comb and pill remover and use as needed but would only buy on sale.

    8. In spite of the beautiful color, I would hesitate to buy the red boots as patent leather tends to be very stiff. I’m still recovering from wearing my black patent leather Doc Marten ankle boots last week. They left deep gashes in my ankles in several places. Odd, as they felt perfectly comfortable and aren’t tight at the ankle. In the future, I will only wear them with heavy socks.

    9. Jeanne, not necessarily. Last year I sold a pair of similar patent leather boots (seriously) that were the most comfortable, soft patent leather, from Italy. Doc martens are particularly heavy and thick.

    10. Suz Has - That’s good to hear. I hope my local store receives them as I really want to see them IRL.

    11. Maybe everyone is looking at something different, but this roll out is awful. The prints and stripe color combos are terrible, and I guess it just isn't my style in any way. Except for those $300 red boots I can't picture wearing any of this at all. I know J Crew serves a range of shoppers and styles, but it seems they have discarded the things that I was attracted to like saturated or unusual colors, great quality made basics like cashmere cardigans and wool pencil skirts that I could wear to work but modernize or make more quirky by adding my own accessories. I also loved some of the great prints. I don't see any of this. Even Madewell is much more hip.
I guess I will be shopping Nordstrom and Anthropologie (though they have issues to, at least they aren't so generic). Just really disappointed lately.

    12. @Cheritheberry I ordered the dog shirt because I thought it was embroidered, but it is not! Now I am debating whether or not to keep it.

  3. alot of Point Sur again this roll out it seems. previously overpriced IMO.

  4. I like the Point Sur peasant style, but I know a lot of people don't care for it. Not happy about the lack of short sleeve/sleeveless tops in this rollout but I guess it's understandable as we're heading into fall. The dog print shirt is very cute.

  5. Not like I need another sweater or cashmere sweater for that matter, but Everlane is stepping up their color game...(they seem to be adding more shades every year). With that being said, has anyone tried their cashmere sweaters before? Is it thin? Thick? Well made in your opinion for their price point? Kinda eyeing their cashmere shrunken sweatshirt. Sorry- I couldn't wait for the "other retailer" post. Thanks in advance.

    1. I just bought the cashmere shrunken sweatshirt this morning! I got the heather rust color. I've never tried Everlane, but I've heard good things. We shall see. The free shipping option isn't very fast, 4-10 days, but I can report back when I receive it.

    2. I have the Everlane cashmere crewneck and I highly recommend it. It's a nice weight, well made and wore really well with minimal pilling. I'm probably going to get it in a few more colors.

    3. I bought two of the Everlane cashmere crewnecks last year. They are decent, and a good substitute for J.Crew if you are not liking their current offerings. I actually prefer the old J.Crew cashmere tee because I have a long torso and these Everlane ones are slightly shorter than J.Crew. But in terms of pilling I found them to be slightly better than J.Crew, though I still had to comb regularly. I actually just bought a Uniqlo cashmere crew last week in an emerald shade, and it was even cheaper than Everlane and seemed decent quality. We shall see!

  6. Ohhh— that’s the color I’m eyeing too ;)!
