This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale
items at our
various local J.Crew stores. ;)
If
you are stopping
by a J.Crew store this weekend to see
what's available (if
anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in
person, maybe you might be
willing to share that with us in this
post. In particular, if you could
share with us a few of the
noteworthy items that are available, at
what prices, and potential sizes
the store is carrying (as well
as the store location)- that would be
fantastic!
Also,
please let us know if your local store is
carrying an additional percent
off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)
P.S.
I noticed that many of
you have already been reporting sale
items (and in which stores) in
other posts which by the way "thank
you!" :) I really appreciate how
helpful we are for each other!

ReplyDeletesale page today...a few items in my size but no % off....really?
prices are jumping like on the factory site. not ordering!
saving my $$ for fall items now. still items I bought last year on sale that I didn't wear this year. have to stop the madness !
does anyone else think it is wrong to be charging 40% more for a summer item than they were three days ago?
ReplyDelete@unknown that’s probably why it’s called a limited time offer ;-)
DeleteThank you... didn't mean it To be snarky...it's just some items are $$than they were... hopefully everyone purchased when prices were lower.
DeleteThe pricing changes are hard to understand. I often see items from last year or even two years ago pop back into inventory on the website, but they are selling for substantially more now "on sale" then they were when they were "on sale" one or two years ago.
DeleteEven this year's inventory has fluctuated wildly in price, as well. As a consumer, I like predictability in pricing. If an item that has an original selling price of $100 is marked down to $50, it irks me to see the price move to $80. I expect this from airlines - not from clothing retailers.
It does seem odd, but then there are the items that get priced crazy low. I bought the 1989 side-zip cotton anorak for my stepson and my stepdaughters boyfriend for $25.49 on the 4th. Today they are back up to $148.00, the regular price.
DeleteThere was a big sale update this morning and i scored two swimsuits for( together) $11!!!
ReplyDeleteAmazing! Which two?
Delete@cheritheberry Plunging halter one piece in classic stripe (red) and the underwire scoopback in black (which i own in navy and green).
DeleteScore! Especially the one you already own, to pick up in black.

ReplyDeleteAnyone else having issues with the new TrueFit widget on the website? It is giving me super inaccurate recommendations. It seems the company is trying to address the variable sizing issue that has plagued them over the past few years, which I do appreciate. Unfortunately, the recommendations are dreadfully off for me. For example, it is recommending I size up to 6 in the Tiger Print Silk shirt, but I tried these on in store and ended up buying a 2. Similarly for Silk Shantung Pants -- I had to size down to 0 from my usual 2 in these, but the Truefit is recommending a 4. On other sites, one can usually input height, weight, sizing info into Truefit, but the J Crew version doesn't allow that. The help button states that the algorithm relies on past purchase data from the retailer to guide its recommendations, which it obviously is not doing in my case. So, it is not that helpful for me. Has anyone else tried it? Maybe my body is just weird :)
ReplyDeleteThat algorithm idea is totally flawed. It wouldn’t take into account buying different sizes for family members or gifts. DUH!!
Deletealso doesn’t take into account sizing variations among factories...
DeleteI see some items marked as JCrew Marketplace, they do not ship to Canada so no use to me. Is it something new or was there for a while, just hidden from international customers? When I search by Onia I get a whole page of swimwear.
ReplyDeleteAnother examples are Chill by Will and and Flagpole
DeleteI never noticed that before but I’m in Canada too.
DeleteSpeaking of Canada, I called CS to request a style guide and was told that they can’t be mailed to Canada.
With 40% off full price items, a promo from my style guide and some rewards $, I decided maybe I'd find something special to splurge on as opposed to waiting. To be honest I can't even find anything. I like some of the shoes but the ones I like come in red, black or the snakeskin print and I've got enough of those. I saw some jeans in the style guide but they don't seem to be online. Blazers I like aren't included in the promo.
ReplyDeleteI was hoping my style guide would come in todays mail but no such luck. I haven’t been shopping quite as much so I hope I am still on the mailing list.
Deletemay i ask what was the promo with style guide ?
Delete@Unknown - 2 stackable codes for additional 15%
DeleteI still haven't gotten a still guide either. :(
Deletewish J Crew would throw Canadian shoppers a bone\..
DeleteI went to Factory yesterday to return several online order disasters, including the Factory Schoolboy in Black that in reality is a horrible, cheap, faded brown-black that will go with exactly nothing in one’s closet. There are numerous reviews on the website to that effect. The SAs response was a flippant “Yeah, sometimes our descriptions are not reflective of the actual color.” And that’s not a problem to you? We are talking about
ReplyDeleteBLACK.
The early fall stuff at Factory was super disappointing in person. The quality of everything is so sad. Even old reliables like versions of the Excursion Vests and Downtown Field Jacket looked way inferior to years past. Made me wonder about the decision to feature Mercantile in the Amazon storefront vs. retail with this lineup.
Happily, I saw a lot I liked at my retail store. It’s looking up, IMO. The everyday cashmere comes in beautiful colors and there are plenty of wear to work options. I picked up a pair of the new curvy skinnies w the 40% off. The Parke is not a good silhouette for my frame, but the green donegal is very nice. It’s been a while since I’ve had multiple items I want from a rollout.
Finally got my misrouted package late last night, thank goodness I signed up for text alerts so I spared my clothes from getting soaked. Note: if you click on tracking and see the Narvar page with the Stars give a rating. I gave a one star when My packing was being shuffled around and it prompted CS to call me and let UPS know it should be delivered to my home address and not some random drop off site that doesn't exist.
ReplyDeleteReceived the 2011 Blythe silk shirt in black. I'm usually between a 2-4 in shirts and often get tall for extra sleeve/torso length. I ordered the regular 4.
First: the silk has a washed finish I don't recall seeing mentioned, at least in the black. The sheen is different than the other black silk shirts/blouses I have from J.crew. It's a little shorter than expected. Sleeves just fit in length. However I tried it on with a pair of loose jeans that fit on the hips and it works. I think the buttons make it more casual and I like the effect. To me it's a great shirt with denim and I love it with slouchy jeans and my lucite heels in suede. Since my pocket blouse in silk is a bit snug across my shoulders and I've worn it similarly it's a great replacement at what was a fair price during the summer sale.
I came very close to getting the exact same Blythe shirt...should have done. So far you have not mentioned one thing I would not wear myself.
DeleteDefinitely keep your eyes open for another sale, you never know. For mid weight I seem to be more into shirts than knits. Aside from tanks I don't love fitted tee shirts except for layering. I find even with old jeans a drapey blouse/shirt looks more polished and I feel more comfortable.
