Sought & Found: Did you visit J.Crew this {past} Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopped by a J.Crew store this past weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store was/ is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

  1. I made my last visit/placed my last order Friday. I asked in the FB group about totals since Thanksgiving, not including gifts for others, and I was surprised my number was 18 including three shirts that haven’t shipped.
    Total:
    Boots 2
    Flannel 2 (one not shipped)
White button down 2 (not shipped)
    Sweater 2
    Coat 3
    Belt 2 (one not received)
    Pajamas 1
    Bag 2 (one not received)
    Slippers 1
    Earrings 1

Since I loosely follow an in/out policy I’m glad to say my daughter took a few button downs and sweaters, I donated a bunch and I sold a few things on poshmark.
This week I’m being brutally honest with myself and getting my donations ready and adding more to poshmark.

    1. I'm also being brutally honest this week and doing a January closet clean out. Anything "holiday" that I didn't wear this holiday season is going. (velvet blazer, stewart plaid button down, etc.) I wore a black sweater yesterday and then put it straight into donation pile. It attracts every single piece of dust, lint, cat hair. Have a few final sale things that didn't work, going to sell on ebay.

    2. I'm trying to be brutally honest too by appreciating the pile that I already own and doing my shopping fast. It's not very difficult right now since nothing is appealing to me.

    3. I know it’s more about the thrill of the hunt for me, especially because I really do like having a smaller wardrobe. I don’t mean 33 small or whatever that books was, but small enough that I don’t have dozens of white shirts to choose from.
At least my coats are all different enough that it’s easy to choose.
I’m holding on to my only velvet blazer because even though it’s a little harder to style with my preferred jeans these days, the fit and quality are nicer than what I tried this year.

I could only see myself getting more sweats…ack…because we keep the house so cold and I put them on as soon as I get home everyday (unless I am running out or having guests) and my few sets are in constant rotation.

    4. ^and I only mention the sweats because we are being brutally honest and I’m freezing!!!

    5. I know what you mean. I am always freezing. I have my cashmere track pants , with blue ribbed puff sleeve cashmere sweater with pink rose cashmere hoodie. And Ofcourse I need another layer …, Quilted puffer shirt-jacket with PrimaLoft® in plaid. I am also wearing Jcrew bought chupp socks. Love them. Why not feel great at home especially in winter 😂😂🎄

    6. I'm always freezing too, but never in my own home because I am here so much that I need to be comfortable. What I really detest is excess a/c that makes me freeze in the warmer months.

@Suz Has: I know what you mean about "the thrill of the hunt." I get it. The problem, at least for me, is that it's very short-lived and then there's just a bunch of excess.

I read that book about the 33 pieces, and I know that isn't something I will do. I think we all here like beautiful things and enjoy getting dressed. Even though I know it should be of no concern to me, I do wish the rest of the world felt the same way...sigh....

    7. MmeJacqueline, this week my daughter took my white endless shirt from a few years ago. Maybe close to ten years old! It had super long wide cuffs and was almost tunic length. As she’s 5’10” and has narrower shoulders than I do (the shirt was a 0) I was so glad to pass it on.
I think I’m always looking for a fit of the moment. My tastes and wants have changed. Maybe it’s just taken me a long time to figure out what I like or maybe it’s fleeting. I don’t know.
I do like to feel good about what I’m wearing and even if I have 5 similar black sweaters I know I’ve chosen each for a different reason.
      Happy new year!

    8. Kate, we spent the afternoon with the gas fireplace on to take the edge off. It helps! Today was especially cold.

    9. Wow! I can probably warm it up to 75. But everyone will be dying of heat … lol and I will still be cold lol 😂

  2. Morning all! Happy new year! The prices are have gone up instead Of down. I was hoping some of the cashmere pieces will drop but instead they much higher. I did get the honeycomb cashmere sweater it’s great. Thick and pretty. I don’t have any thick sweaters. Also got the navy stripe track pants. Love them. They bag out tiny in a knee. But thick fabric and pretty. I am only 5.3 on a good day and they come to my ankle. Both were $103 each. Store order. I did pick up the track jacket. It’s was expensive $139 plus tax but hoping for sale. Also bought and waiting 2 cashmere tanks(for my daughter and me), Cotton bouclé cardigan sweater and pants in xxs, cashmere tank dress $68, Blazer-jacket in Italian fall blanket wool $73, Cashmere Fair Isle yoke sweater, and last min decided to try Collared sequin sweater in stripe $54, figured it’s nice with leather pants. I did also buy a pair of pj with peace sign, some undies for hubby, and few perfect tshirts basic colors. Will let you all know once I get this .

    1. I also saw that the cashmere prices went up, what the heck! Usually first week of January is when they really have the big sales, clean out the holiday inventory.

    2. I have seen consistently good reviews for the cashmere honeycomb sweater, so I'll be looking out for a good price. I thought $129.50 was the best price so far but you beat it at $103!

As my mom reminded me over Christmas, the big cleanout sales are almost always timed to the end of January/early February for clothing retailers. For others like ones that sell holiday decor, it would be the first week of January. (She always remember this trick because we celebrate the Lunar New Year, and the big clothes discounts always fall around the same time).

    3. I think I remember from last year better prices end of December and then not again until mid winter or later, with a few surprises thrown in. I had purchases coats in dec last year and it wasn’t until spring that the prices were as low again.

    4. It’s nice to get a break from the sales. I was able to get 20 off on the sweater via store phone orders. So I got lucky! Idk if other items will be worth it. I am waiting for better prices. Most cashmere is not final sale is it will be easy returns!

    5. I agree. I don’t need to add more right now. Let the closet culling commence.

  3. Hello all, expect price increases this coming year not only from the crew but other retailers. With inflation, continued shipping delays, etc. etc. this will be unavoidable. The 15% SMP3F8JYJ off code was still working this morning although I haven’t purchased anything in recent days and won’t unless new items are released.

    1. Do you know when new items will be released? This last rollout seems timed wrong for the seasons, where I live anyway. It feels like fall or spring. I don't know what I want to see but I feel like shopping and nothing is interesting me right now.

  4. Cate, unfortunately no even my stylist hasn’t been updated. When I speak with her tomorrow hopefully she may Ave some info and I will post here. Same here, boring items in unattractive non JCrew colors. For those interested in calling CS today, Calls are being rerouted to Belize, San Antonio and wherever else. Big snowstorm in Lynchburg.

    1. Yes, I am an hour from Lynchburg, and we did get a big snow storm in this part of Virginia. Then the sun came out, but it is still very cold here. Yesterday it was in the mid-60's. What a difference a day makes.

    2. Thanks Lynn. I noticed on Instagram that Madewell said look for new arrivals tomorrow. Maybe that means J. Crew will have a rollout too.
