  1. I’m looking over my purchase history and wondering what items have been the JCAs favorites in the last year? What were your favorite purchases? Especially things like cashmere items - have this year’s offerings held up and laundered well? I haven’t purchased as much this year and I did make more returns for poor fit/quality, but I loved the honeycomb cashmere sweater, flannel pj’s, chunky cashmere turtleneck, cashmere wraps, and Nordic Boots.

    1. I really like the relaxed fit cotton button downs, which I know is not necessarily a popular opinion. I have two coming today too. I have athletic shoulders and long narrow torso and the slim fit doesn’t fit me well. I steam them after washing or hang to dry.

I also love my relaxed fit topcoat. I got the leopard and the wintermint color. The relaxed shape of these works well for me. I can wear it even to the gym and I don’t feel like I’m wearing a dressy top coat like some of my more fitted ones. I’ve worn the leopard almost everyday since I got it the first week in December. I keep a stash of masks in the pocket. I’d get the pink too if it popped back. They make me feel more put together even just in gym clothes.

I did add another pair of Nordic boots and the clog boots which are a surprise love for me. The heel and slim fit on the ankle work better for me than the lower ankle boots with my jeans. I got the bronzed clay and it’s kind of like wearing a nude pump, it’s my skin color practically.

I had been wearing a camera bag for awhile but the longer Oslo bag with the cross body strap (I add my own strap) has been a fun change. I think the longer shape works well although it can be harder to find things in the bag. For the sale price I got the clay and the red. I have been wearing the clay everyday. I have a much more expensive leather Longchamp bag made of a similar soft leather. Obviously it’s not the same but using these bags will prolong the life of that.

After 50 something years of not really caring about my pajamas last winter I got my first JCrew flannel pajamas. I also just got the cotton peace sign ones and love them. I may be hooked. I buy them loose for the shoulders but I don’t care, the drawstring means the pants won’t fall down and I am super comfortable. I got them for my girls too.

How could I forget the university Terry sweats. I got two sets of the black half zip and the sweat pants. They are my at home uniform when I start cooking or cleaning or watching tv. Not so hot I am stifling but wash well and are cozy.

    2. I’m happy to know the University Terry Sweats are keepers, Suz. I’ve been eyeing them because they look so cozy, but don’t really need them after overbuying in that category during 2020. I hope they are around when I need to replace/refresh my loungewear capsule.

    3. I tried the Everlane sweats to compare and felt the fit of the JCrew ones worked better for me and the fabric was comparable. They’re cotton Terry inside so not the same as a poly blend fleece but more the type that will get softer with wear.

    4. My favorite purchases were the original medium and large Montauk canvas totes. Aside from those, I bought a lot but returned a lot.

  2. Item BE 108 Liberty print blouse. Ordered it to get a better look at the pattern and quality. I’m not really into puffed sleeve tops but the print looks interesting. Wish they’d done it in a button down. Will post once it’s received.

    1. I’m not seeing it. Which print?

    2. Puff-sleeve top in Liberty® Elm House floral
      Item BE018
      Oh this one.

I have this style top in linen from the summer and it was one of my most worn tops. The sleeve is not overly done. However the neck is high so if you don’t like that you might not like the shirt.

    3. I got way too many packages yesterday! But only tried on the cashmere navy pants Wide-leg sweatpant in featherweight cashmere
Item AU627. They are like butter. Thick material. No bagging out. Wore them half day yesterday no pilling. Much better quality then the track pants. I order xs and xxs. Put on xxs and they perfect. Not just sweats! Can wear with boots and nice sweater to work! I have the acorn color coming in today in xs. I have several things to try today so will keep you all posted. Definitely love the honeycomb cashmere. I did pick up few collared cashmere sweaters which I love and in reg rotation. Wool/cashmere turtleneck dress. I do love the short and tall suede boots. Got grey on short and black in tall. They are comfy, versatile and good quality!
I may post on face book if brave, it’s my daughters account so will have to figure this out. Lol 😂

    4. Not super high like a mockneck but it has a little ruffle.

I actually prefer this shape to the other puff sleeve I got in poplin which is a bigger sleeve and a wider shirt.

    5. Kate my mom was considering those wide leg pants but she is a few inches taller than you. I told her she could wear them with boots underneath but she was like that’s too young. 😂 which I don’t think at all. She mostly wears ponte pant type leggings which I don’t think are very flattering, to be honest! (I’ve made suggestions for other pant types…).

    6. They actually longer then on the model. They come to my ankle which I do like even more then the wool version. I did wear the grey wool a lot, they pilled under my labcoats. But that’s not the pants but the cotton lab coat day after day. The acorn ones I will return as I want to keep the cashmere. I am very much skinny jeans and Cameron pants girl. But I do like this style coming back it’s more elegant. ( i hope 😂)

    7. My mom has longer Legs so they would be short on her. I had the merino/cotton wide leg ones from a few years ago and had to throw them out, they pilled so much. But that was also my fault because they are dry clean only and who has time for that. I wore them as at home pants.

  4. Random: Classic-fit washed cotton poplin shirt in pinstripe (Item BD767)

I want to give this a shot so threw it in my cart to wait for a promo. I want the blue striped version and the little icon in my cart shows it as blue. But if I click on it to get back to the item page, it goes to the pink version of the item and wants me to "update bag" to change it to blue. I noticed both colors are called the same color. So when I go to eventually try it, are we placing bets on such color will actually come? 🤣

  5. Ok reporting back on my morning try on
    1. Navy cashmere pants ( as above -keep). They were pricey $94 but I love
    2. Navy cashmere track pants with stripe -return. They pulled and stretch after 8 hours at home
    3. Featherweight cashmere long slip dress
Item BC503 in black xs. Feels great. Fits awesome. Can be dressed up if needed with nice necklace and heels.
    4. Cashmere cropped sweater-tank
Item BA395 grey small. Cute. Tiny. Should cost $15. It was $50 non final sale-return. Nothing special. My daughter loves it and wants to keep. I will return mine.
    4. Cotton bouclé cardigan sweater
Item BD023 ($42)And matching Cotton bouclé jogger sweater-pant Item BD024)$39). Cute but not a love. Expensive for what it is. I got xxs and it fits well one size down. It does have a little of that channel look but I would only wear it at home or to target and it’s expensive for that. Somehow I felt sloppy in it. So took it off. Back it goes.
Still waiting on few things… acorn cashmere pants, acorn blanket jacket with belt, sequence sweater, and cashmere fairisicle.

  6. I visited my store yesterday as I mentioned to bring back my moms ponchos.
While I was there I tried the relaxed cotton roll neck in the medium in black. I had previously ordered the XS and S in the black and brown and the black ran a bit smaller. They had one medium and I loved the fit but it had a few pulls from being on the floor for the past month or so. I do think they may go lower but it was the type of thing I’d regret if I didn’t get so I had the store order for me.
Today I have my reorder of the Thomas mason tie neck, the relaxed tuxedo shirt in white and the ivory plaid flannel coming.
I also tried the star print silk chiffon shirt again in store but hesitated. The shoulders are fine in the small and medium. I prefer the looser and longer length of the medium but the sleeve length is not great and they won’t stay rolled up. Super cute but a wait and see for me.
Oh I got the braided tassel belt in black. It’s cute but essentially a long drapery tie back. I think it will work fine for my needs when a real belt is too bulky to add a little sparkle and shine.

    1. Reporting back.
I love the tuxedo shirt. BD829. there is a slim fit one for those who don’t like a relaxed fit, this is definitely relaxed. I tried with looser denim and also super high rise wide leg black pants and can tell it will be a favorite. The cotton is almost the same as the Thomas Mason tie neck, maybe the Thomas Mason is a little smoother, but very comparable. I love the Thomas Mason too, BB260. When I love a white button down I will wear it to death.
The ivory plaid Classic-fit shirt in snowy Stewart tartan flannel
Item BD538 is probably not a need but I think I will be happy to have it at some point when it’s cold and I want something a little festive for layering. I prefer the red plaid though, for sure.

  7. Hi all I received Blazer-jacket in Italian fall blanket wool Item BA530, SZ 2, in soft brown. $73. It’s great quality. Thick! Old Jcrew! Reminds me of the double faced wool or cashmere years back! I initially tried it on and thought it was small. I packed it for return and decided to retry. It’s actually perfect! I tried it over cashmere sweater with tshirt under. TTS. Can be dressed up or very sporty with sneaks! I was almost happy it was going back since I am keeping a lot but I do like it!!! So will keep!😩😂
Cashmere pants arrived in xs in acorn. Like a lot unfortunately, keeping. I don’t see big difference btwn xxs and xs.
Keeping way tooo much… but I feel all good prices and good decisions ( I hope 🤞).
Not keeping any maybes… lol 😂

    1. I saw a woman trying it on in my store and it looked great on her. She had the relaxed double breasted topcoat also but she felt it was too big and she was going to give it to a daughter, but the blazer coat looked really nice. I honestly couldn’t believe she left without it. I guess not everyone is like we are…lol.

    2. Haha…, i seriously had it packed. But I feel something like this can last a while. I still have my lady coats from 2010 which I love. I do see a lady coat in blue color non final sale coming out to be $95 I may try it in 2 sizes. Idk

    3. Has anyone tired the lady coat this year in store. My 2010 version is 6P, I am usually 0-2. It’s fits with thin layer, very thin. Any suggestions would be great! I did read on face book they are about $200 in store. Any suggestions please let me know!

    4. I didn’t this year but my old lady day coat is a 4 and fits over a light sweater. I bought 6 last year in three lady coat styles…the shimmer tweed, velvet trim and the ivory double breasted. The 6 fits perfectly over a sweater and still looks fitted. (The only one I wasn’t crazy about was the double breasted one which was a much different cut and I sold it.)
I also tried the wool cashmere coat (I believe it’s 277.99 in ivory online, same in store before mark down) and although the 00 got on me the 6 was the size I’d go for to wear over a cashmere turtleneck.
I’d probably stick with the 6 or 6p if I were you.

    5. I’m sorry, not a 6p. Maybe the 8p to wear over a sweater.

    7. Thank you Suz Has!!😊
While I was fussing around last 2 hours all the petite sold out. Ended up with 6reg. Also picked up a top coat for hubby(wool/cashmere). Not final sale. Will see when it comes in. I see few other discounts but I feel like the 60off is coming back so will hold off for now.
