J.Crew Reviews {straight from the JCAs!}

   This is the weekly "J.Crew Reviews {straight from the JCAs}" post, to help each other share our reviews.

So if you have recently purchased, or stopped by a J.Crew store to try on an item (or two) from J.Crew, maybe you might be willing to share that information with us in this post.

Also, this request is not just limited to clothes. Please feel free to discuss bags, shoes, jewelry, accessories, etc.

In particular, if you could mention a few of the noteworthy details like fit, size, fabric, and the like— that would be fantastic! Thanks in advance! :)

  1. I’m very impressed that all the clothes I ordered for my daughter for her conference shipped and will be at school when she arrives. I was getting concerned she would not have a full suit. Fingers crossed it all fits.

    Hoping the weekend orders ship!

  3. JCAs who own the Nordic boots, can you offer inout on whether they are worth it, how they run (hopefully tts?), and whether they are big/heavy to walk around in? I’m finding myself living in cold weather at the moment and my usual shoes are not sufficing. TIA! Also, any recommendations for warm coats? I just relocated and am unprepared for the cold!

    1. I love the Nordic boots. I’m typically an 8.5 and the 9 is my size. I even wear without socks most of the time. I do tighten the laces but have no problems with heel slippage. They’re sturdy and comfortable for me. I’ve even hiked miles in the cold rain in upstate NY where my daughter goes to school. Normally I wouldn’t wear them hiking such a long distance but I didn’t have warm hiking books and I knew it would be cold and rainy.

      Depends how warm of a coat you need. What temperature. I’m typically fine with my old Wintress on our coldest days, and even today (low 30s) I was fine walking a few blocks in my relaxed double breasted topcoat with a cashmere turtleneck and faux fur scarf. Midwest winters I might need something warmer. For me, I need a longer coat. I like my coats knee length or longer.

    2. +1 on the Nordic Boots, totally agree w Suz. I am a 6.5 and a 7 is perfect for me with or without socks. They are surprisingly lightweight and not clunky vs. my Sorels and Bean Boots, and the traction is excellent for light hiking but maybe not intense technical outdoor activities. I am the first person to grouse about the tanking quality at J Crew today, and I find them to be very well-made. They look like high-end ski boutique boots for waaaaaaay more money, and the sale price right now is crazy good if you don’t want to make a big investment. Highly recommend.

    3. Love mine too. Wear 7.5, and 8 is prefect. With or without socks! I have to stone from last year and just picked up the black leather pair.

    4. Which ones? I bought the mint green ones made by Vibram during the cyber Monday sale. So far I'm really happy with them. I wear a 7.5 so bought an 8. They're a teeny bit big which was expected. I wear thick socks with them, sometimes I even double up, but they're comfy and warm. I wish I had bought the other color pink/mauve color when I had the chance, but they went so fast once they were marked down.
