J.Crew Reviews {straight from the JCAs!}

This is the weekly "J.Crew Reviews {straight from the JCAs}" post, to help each other share our reviews.

So if you have recently purchased, or stopped by a J.Crew store to try on an item (or two) from J.Crew, maybe you might be willing to share that information with us in this post.

Also, this request is not just limited to clothes. Please feel free to discuss bags, shoes, jewelry, accessories, etc.

In particular, if you could mention a few of the noteworthy details like fit, size, fabric, and the like— that would be fantastic! Thanks in advance! :)

  1. OT but just wondering how many of you are working from home today or this week due to the coronavirus? I went out to eat over the weekend and the restaurant owner said his sitdown business has been down dramatically but his delivery business is way up. I'm assuming this will trickle into in-store sales at brick and mortar businesses.

    1. I’ve been thinking the same. I’m going about my usual business with more diligent hand washing but hoping a family event is rescheduled (more because of my parents intheir 70s/80s.)

    2. Some retail might be affected, I agree, but there are also a lot of people who are freaking out about stockpiling food and household goods and they’re running around like lunatics to find the last bottle of Purell. “Someone” I know told me they went all over looking for it, this someone is mid 70s with some health issues. I advised staying in unless necessary and hand washing instead of looking for purell!

    3. Hand sanitizer has been sold out for about 2 weeks here in Chicago; same story in the suburbs. I've been washing, washing, washing my hands all day at work and at home. The commuter train has been a little less full but certainly not deserted. The local Target had many brands of bottled water stacked up at both entrances but didn't notice a decrease in customers. I wish I could work from home but cannot.

    4. I am still in the office but our company has implemented corporate travel restrictions - no non-essential domestic travel and no international travel. We've encouraged employees to self identify if they've traveled to restricted areas and they're on work from home mandates if they have self identified. Some departments are experimenting with alternating work from home arrangements in order to have less employees in the office. We've also restricted meetings/events of 25+ participants...which is basically my whole world in training/leadership development so I'm definitely learning how to be more agile and do more things virtually. We communicated the changes on Friday so it's been interesting to say the least.

      I live in a smaller city but we're the same with no sanitizer and no rubbing alcohol/aloe to make said sanitizer. I was at Target on Friday and cleaning supplies/paper products were less than usual but not bare shelves. Trying to be business as usual just more diligent as others stated.

    5. interesting! i'm in nyc and yesterday after work i went to a city Target (smaller formats) and a Walgreens, both were empty of toilet paper and cleaning supplies. it was bizarre to see. everyone in my office also has been diligent with wiping down personal spaces and washing hands/not touching door handles, using hand sanitizer. today my office offered voluntary work from home, so 75% are working remotely now and i think it'll be offered for the rest of the week. my friends who work in DC and Boston also have voluntary remote work and my friend in Seattle has mandatory work from home beginning Thursday.

    6. We’re just starting to have cases here but one college in the state has cancelled classes for the semester. We flew home from vacation on Sunday and the airport seemed “normal.” More people cleaned their seats on the airplane than I normally see but there weren’t many in masks and the flights were full. I’m a teacher and my once a week classes were only 50% full. I had to offer teleconferencing for those “in quarantine” (all were believed to have travel exposure).

  2. Hi everyone! Just popped on to the site and a few new dresses popped up, including the flutter sleeve point Sur dress from last year in new colors. The olive looks stunning online and I’m quite drawn to it. I have last year’s version in both white and ikat and wore the heck out of them all summer. The perfect workday and weekend dress for all occasions. A few other pieces are there too.
