"Looking to VENT" with J.Crew

This is the weekly "Looking to VENT with J.Crew" post, a place to share our not-so-stellar experiences with J.Crew.

If you have recently experienced a frustrating situation with J.Crew, maybe you might be willing to share that information with us in this post.

Please feel free to share your story on almost any topic— including poor experiences with purchases & orders, promotions/ offers, in-store visits, transactions with store associates, etc.

  1. Does anyone know when the "Wishlist" feature will return on the JCrew & JCrew Factory websites? It's been so long that it's gone and really annoying. I had a lot of items on there. I don't understand why they are taking so long and are they aware of how this hurts business (IMO) anyway.

    1. No one knows and I agree that it seems to be a bad business decision to take away the wish list around the holidays. I have not bought as much since they took it away.

  2. Why does the shipping take so long? Placed an order on Saturday morning and still no movement on my order. Already received shipment of an order from a different company placed on Saturday. Meanwhile, crickets from J Crew except for the standard "your order is on schedule" email.

  3. My Factory order from the 70% flash sale was canceled. I contacted J. Crew via chat to inquire why, rep did not ask for my order number or ask me to verify my personal details, said with canned language that there was a system error that allowed people to place orders for out of stock items and made no offer to place the order again for me. I miss the old J. Crew with reliable, polite, and above and beyond good service.

  4. On October 22nd I DM'd asking what the holiday return policy is. They replied "know the holiday shopping season is approaching and typically we extend our 30 day return window, but we don't know the cut-off-date just yet."

Considering the issues they had last year between Black Friday and Christmas, I will spend my dollars elsewhere.

  5. Last years Black Friday and Christmas was a nightmare. I'm hoping they learned something from that, but have my doubts. I remember getting Christmas gifts I had ordered delivered at the end of January.

  6. Agree that last Black Friday/Christmas were disastrous. I was still receiving Black Friday orders until the week of Christmas... if the orders hadn't been cancelled by then. If they're going to be understaffed over the holidays then they need to extend the return window.

  7. Purchased a pair of smoking slippers in Pink Velvet. Gorgeous pink...it ends there. Soles are like plywood as are all of their other shoes.Glitter, plaid or whatever I wouldn’t be caught dead in those pointy toe shoes. They’re cheap looking patterns. Bring back some of the oldie oldie Made in Italy shoes Jcrew and throw out some Real Classic Ballet flats. Even Cece’s would do.

  8. Epic warehouse fail. Last week I snagged a popback of a collection cashmere tippi. Was really looking forward to receiving today. I opened the bag and out fell a pair of Madewell jeans, size 32. In a plastic bag with the collection Tippi barcode and name. SMH.

    1. I hate that! Over the summer I kept trying to order popbacks of my favorite merino boatneck sweater. Once they sent me a crewcuts dress and once a swim bottom. What the heck. Really annoying. They credit me right away and I don't have to pay return shipping but I have to go thru the hassle of printing out shipping label, packaging the item back up and taking it the the PO or UPS. Plus the disappointment of not getting the item I wanted :(

    2. This has happened to me in the past with some real head scratchers, but hasn’t happened in a year and half so I thought they straightened out their inventory system. Unless their warehouse is manned by robots I can’t believe someone packing up an order didn’t notice that the jeans are clearly not a cashmere sweater. Even if you don’t recognize the product name of Tippi, you’d at least notice jeans are not cashmere (as the sticker on the plastic bag says)!

  9. As someone else mentioned, what happened to reviews? I don't see a place anymore where you can "review this item". It's strange. And I am also really missing the wishlist.

  10. I wish J Crew would show one photo of a dress, for example, instead of showing separate photos of each color of that dress.
It drives me crazy because it takes much longer for me to look at the different dresses -- or sweaters, or shorts or whatever -- that are available.
And I agree about the reviews: bring them back. I was considering the cashmere sweater dress but am hesitant to order it without reviews to use as a guide.

  11. It appears that after you have made a purchase you receive an email and they ask you to review it. This has been my recent experience.

  12. There's a chance you're swift to help lower price an example, yet in the event you offer it all an occasion, it might take anyone a place absolutely sudden and intensely beneficial with regard to creating a booming newspaper. https://imgur.com/a/F44YSUD https://imgur.com/a/D8JF9vl https://imgur.com/a/Z6kMSBx https://imgur.com/a/kI6Xwth https://imgur.com/a/wr3QdJc https://imgur.com/a/pRKQQLd https://imgur.com/a/9NX0a9Y
