This is the weekly "J.Crew Reviews {straight from the JCAs}" post, to help each other share our reviews.
So
if you have recently purchased,
or stopped by a J.Crew store to try
on an item (or two) from J.Crew, maybe you
might be willing to share that
information with us in this post.
Also, this request is not just limited to clothes. Please feel free to discuss bags, shoes, jewelry, accessories, etc.
In
particular, if you could
mention a few of the noteworthy
details like fit, size, fabric, and the
like— that would be fantastic! Thanks
in advance! :)
New arrivals are up, I spy a lot of exposed gold zippers on the skirts. The collection also seems a bit pre-spring with the exception of the coats.
ReplyDeleteSaw the new arrivals too - meh, but still managed to load a shopping cart. How is that? Many of the new arrivals are 25% off. Colors look darling but am concerned that they will look different in real life and that the quality of the items is suspect. I wish, wish, wish they'd offer some short, fitted blazers. Even the models look sloppy in the blazers they have now.
ReplyDeleteAs for reviews...
Maddie Pant - I'm 5-2, straight figure, and I ordered this item in three sizes - 00, P00, and P0. My j.crew size is normally P00, but the maddies were too short and too tight and just plain weird looking in that size. The 00 fit better but did no favors for my rear so I decided against getting them shortened. The P0 fit the best out of the bunch but was just a hair too short for my liking. I need a pair of wool pants badly, and these don't itch and, I like the color (mauve), and I actually need this color to wear a blazer I've had forever, so at $89.60, I think I will keep them. i don't know if they are truly keep-worthy but I haven't found a pair of j.crew pants that fit well, well, forever. Maybe it's my body and not the pants. The only pants that seem to fit me well are Uniqlo, and they have stopped making non-cropped pants.
I also got the firefly collar necklace as a ride-along and it's an unexpected love. It's a lot bigger and chunkier than the online picture shows - it's not dainty for sure --but I squealed with joy when I saw it. Gave me all sorts of outfit ideas - that's the best kind of necklace. I ended up getting a price reduction so I ended up paying $47.
The other thing I tried on was the cambridge cable vneck in pink. The color was nice, but the sweater was too long on me and the quality was dreadful. Looked and felt so cheap.
So sad to hear the Cambridge sweaters are awful again this year. Was hoping they stepped it up this time. If anyone has quality, non-itchy sweater recommendations, I would greatly appreciate it!
DeleteI think it's an error but the Stadium Cloth Cocoon Coat is showing that it is on sale for $245 when you go to the item description and then the STARTSHOPPING code works on it, bringing the price down to $171. I just ordered the new bright pink color at that price.
ReplyDeleteI was just coming to post this. It's got to be a mistake, but it's an amazing deal. Looks like all colors are at this price at the moment.
DeleteSame thing for Chateau Parka, all colors $255? Then promo on top of that.
DeleteI was also coming to point this out. It seems like their are a lot of things on promo that maybe shouldn't be? So, if you want something you better order it now just in case!
DeleteI agree, Lauren. $171 for any color in the Cocoon coat, now that is a Freak Out price and they're going to fix that soon.
DeleteAwesome price!! However, they fixed it.
DeleteSomebody's freaking out... at JC HQ!
Deletesilver_lining, that exactly what I just said on the other thread! Now they know the true meaning of "freak out".
Deleteshopgrrrl, ha! I wonder if the next promo was going to be "30% off select outerwear". Probably not anymore.
DeleteGood catch, Debby! Sorry I missed that deal. Love the cocoon coat!

Partial to Pink
The new argyle Jackie twinsets is ringing up with a good price with the promo right now as well.
ReplyDeleteReceived velvet Avery heels in Cabernet, colorblock suede tassel & tweed Avery heels. Shoes are well made & colors are beautiful; suede is soft & tassels are a nice detail. Velvet & colorblock were tts in length; I'm a 10. But, they were slightly too wide. So, I'm returning both. The tweed Avery heel is a keeper. Love the pattern of the tweed and the navy blue tassels are a nice accent. Fit was perfect in these with regard to length & width. They were comfortable even at the end of the day when I tried them on. Very happy with this purchase. They were on my wishlist even before Kate decided to wear them.
