Shhh! Extra 30% off J.Crew's Spring Sale

"Thanks!" to many of you, including Marisa (in this post), as well as Melanie, kj & Misty Lynn, who shared the following promotion from J.Crew.

J.Crew is {secretly} offering customers to take an additional 30% off all sale items (no min) with promo code MUSTSHOP. This offer expires Thursday, May 3, 2012.

I kept checking J.Crew's website this morning and I could not find this promotion mentioned anywhere. I did a mock checkout and the code totally works. (So it seems like J.Crew is back to secretly sharing its promotions with customers. Meh.)

Will you be checking out the Sale section? Are there any items you are hoping to see or to get?

  2. Thank you Alexis! Yes, the "secret" part is totally annoying, but I bit anyway. I picked up some of the double serge cotton skirts with my rewards card. The new colors are $62.65 after discount, which is about as good a price as I can count on, I think. Got the sunflower, succulent green and neon pink, also the poppy double serge factory pencil skirt, which is only $35 after discount..

  3. Strange that I should be getting emails from them and I'm not.

  4. Meh is right. Nothing that I must have now. Guess I'll check back for a popback.

  5. Eh, nothing I want right now. Maybe there will be new cuts on Thurs, the last day of the promo.

If you're shopping, check out the links to irl pics.

  6. Yes, I did, and used my Rewards card as well for an incredible deal.

  7. Maybe my memory is failing me, but I don't recall too many of these secret sales until recently (granted I only found this blog a year or so ago). Anyone else think these secret codes are intentional so it doesn't look like JC is constantly running promos? We know how much dear leader hates markdowns. Also fattens their margins on purchases where the customers don't know about the code....

  8. And still no FP promo. Arrggghh. Really hoping the items I want might go on sale before thos code expires! I picked up a few small odds and ends, another vintage cotton scoopneck tee -- I'd got the Carribbean Green one and it's gorgeous and so comfy, and it's running TTS for me as opposed to huge like last year. Also grabbed a Bright Dahlia boatneck painter tee since I have a tough time finding anything in that color lately! And finally re-ordered the Drea leopard peeps in my usual size. I tried sizing up by 1/2 size during the last sale and I walked right out of them, boo hoo. :(

I really wanted to try the Amie Maxi Dress in the navy/red stripe but ShopWithM said you could see every lump and bump under it, and that is definitely not something I need, arrgghh. :(

  9. So annoyed, b/c there were two popbacks of items I wanted this morning, and with the 30% off it would have been a no-brainer. Oh well.

    2. Which sizes of the Capri did they have this am?

  10. Wow, thanks for the promo info! I want the jardin skirt but I would prefer it to sit lower towards my hips than up at the waist. Since I haven't been able to try one on IRL, does anyone know if the waist measurements on the Crew size chart are accurate with respect to the jardin?

  11. This is the best blog ever!!! I just got the striped sequin tank and the striped Villa dress for 30% off thru my online PS!!! She was so surprised that the promo worked, no one told her about it!!! Thank you so much!!

  12. I picked up the black patent monas, and a couple of lomellina swim pieces I have been wanting...

  13. Love to know the pop backs everyone got this morning :)

  14. Yea, I was up at 530 am and didn't see a code. But nothing was popping up that I wanted anyway but still, would have been nice to know.

  15. J. Crew used to update sale in the 5:30-6 am range but in the past week or two, they've not been fully reloading popbacks until 7:30 or 8 I think.

When I get up at 5:30, new inventory on pages I have bookmarked or that haven't sold out is there, but it's not until 7:30 or so that new items get loaded on the site. I wish they would go back to the old schedule - it made it easier to get up in the morning when I had popbacks to look forward to!

  16. Thanks for the code! Does anyone know anything on the Nolita white denim jacket? I LOVE the Nolita jacket in Great Lakes wash. Does the white one fit similar, mainly wondering if it is as soft?

    1. Nevermind...I bit the bullet and ordered it using my rewards card. If it works, what a steal with the promo! I didn't realize this was an older item that popped back. I've been looking for a white denim jacket for awhile and I adore my Nolita one...who knew I missed the white one from a few seasons ago..ha. Fingers crossed this works!

  18. Thanks for the code. Just wish they will have a promo on full-priced item.s soon. Will watch for popbacks in the morning

  19. I grabbed the Merriweather jacket and the Maritime dress in black. Also grabbed the sequin striped tank.

  20. The promo is being 'advertised' on Google. It's in an ad result of a Google search on 'JCrew'.

  21. Does "spring sale" mean final sale is finally over? In such case, I might just be tempted to take a look around the sale section (I try not to look daily anymore - too much temptation). I do have to say, though, I did bite on all final sale items during the last 30% off sale promo and everything I bought is perfect, so, for once, final sale worked for me. I do always like the opportunity to return/exchange though, particularly when it comes to items that are catalog/online only, and I would love to see the end of FS forever. I've always been of the opinion that a company shouldn't try to "stick" its customers with merchandise just to clear out inventory, as that makes for unhappy customers, and I also think that a lot of customers are dissuaded from placing orders knowing they can't return the items if, for whatever reason, they don't work out. Yes, these may be the same customers who will routinely return half of what they purchase, and yes, that inevitably makes for extra paperwork, restocking, moving around inventory, etc. but that's still more money for the business than if the orders had never been placed - and it's not as though they're losing money overall on shipping costs with the $8.95 flat rate nonsense. I'm not ignoring the fact that it's advantageous for the company to be able to clear out old merchandise without the prospect of taking it back in the form of returns, but I maintain that, particularly in light of how the economy has changed people's shopping habits, this is an outdated policy that needs to go. I'm sure I, and others here, have shared the same thoughts 100x over, so please excuse me today as I'm in a bit of a lull at work and skipping around on JCA to kill some time :)

On a happy note, today for work I dressed down the Hailey dress in floral jacquard with black tights, black Lulu bow flats, a black Jenna V-neck cardi, the Tangled Treasure necklace from a while back and the Factory turtle earrings and everytime I look in the mirror I feel so lovely and ladylike! Delighted with my final sale dress purchase, which I almost didn't make out of fear it wouldn't fit. And once it warms up a bit in NYC, this will be such a fun dress for Spring. Already excited to pair it with my Martina wedges in bronzed clay the moment it's warm enough to go stockingless :)

  22. I should also add that, since it's a bit brisk out, I covered up this morning with the herringbone blazer in gray, a gauzy white cashmere scarf from Holiday '10 and I'm carrying the Mongolian lamb tote which is my favorite bag ever because it holds everything. I almost think JC should be sponsoring me for the walking advertisement! LOL.

  23. Thanks for the code! Had my eye on the Villa dress and the Back-zip striped pullover - scooped up both! (Can't pass up a stripe...) My birthday present to me ;)

  24. has anyone been bold enough to try those Cafe Capris in the big apple print that looks orange? I think I may be nuts, but I want to try. Can I return them if they are too crazy for real life with a spring sale?

    ReplyDelete
  25. Tammy, I've been waiting for the Big Apple print cafe capris to get to a lower price. I haven't seen them in person, but I know I'll like them since the cafe capri is my favorite pant style and I love orange. I called Customer Service and was told that this secret sale (MUSTSHOP) is NOT final sale and that if need be I can return the pants.

  26. For those wondering, final sale is over online as of 4/26. It should stay that way at until July or so, if memory serves. At the b&m if there is an additional % off, it is pretty much always final sale.

  27. How on earth can a sale item be on backorder? the Blythe blouse in royal violet is backordered till 6/14??????

  28. Can someone offer advice on the fit of the double serge cotton pencil skirts? I haven't bought a pencil skirt from Jcrew in awhile and wondering how their pencil skirts fit now. I'm usually a 2 or 4 in jcrew skirts and dresses depending how they fit, and a 27 in their jeans. Does this skirt stretch out a great deal or should I get the larger of my 2 sizes?
    TIA for any help!!!!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I found that I while I take a 4 in the wool pencil skirt I take a 6 in the cotton version. So I would size up.

      Delete
    2. koala2, if you wear 27 in their jeans, I think size 2 will fit you ok. I have 3 double-serge cotton skirts and they are all size 2. I wear 27 in the flare and matchstick jeans and 28 in the toothpicks, for reference.

      Delete
    3. I would also probably advise to size up. I am a 25/26 but in this round of the cotton double-serge pencil skirts, the 2 was more comfortable than the 0. I guess it also depends on how fitted you want the skirt to me -- these days I am preferring slightly looser fits that allow easier movement...

    4. I think you would be no bigger than a 2 in a pencil skirt. A sales associate told me the double-serge cotton pencil skirts stretch out during wear.

  29. Well, since I jumped the gun last week, we'll see if my order gets here in time. It's set to arrive on Wednesday, so if there are any sale items I want to keep, I'll just re-order with the promo :)

  30. Interesting why they're keeping it a secret. I emailed my PS today to ask about finding an item and I didn't even ask about the sale. She found my item and said it would be an extra 30% off due to the secret promo.

  31. Thank you, thank you, thank you for the code tip! I will be putting the Blouson Stripe Dress in my shopping bag right now!

  32. Would jcrew do a price adjustment on an order from this past thursday?

    1. Yes! If the SA says 'no', then call back to talk to someone else and that should work. I did that twice and I received my price adjustments!

  35. Does anyone know if it's still working? I tried to order something last night, but it wasn't applying.

  36. I grabbed a few pop backs ... Gingham perfect shirt, merriweather jacket, double breasted gold button jacket in cerise, and a cafe Capri.

  37. Thank you so much to you awesome JCA's! I called JC customer service today and they are going to credit my order I placed yesterday! Big savings. Woot! Love this community!

  38. Ugh! More of a vent than anything...I've had my eye on the seersucker schoolboy blazer and it just disappeared from my cart...In fact, it's just gone from the site. This is very disappointing. First, it's overpriced and then it's just gone?? Who are these people who pay full price for an item like that and why doesn't JC anticipate selling out? I have my rewards card and nothing to use it on now. GRRRRR!

  39. I caught a popback of the Mackintosh Traig jacket for a mere (ha ha) $419.99 this morning. Has anyone seen it or tried it? I have no idea what to expect, but at least it wasn't final sale. I like it on the model but really have no idea what to expect in person. I have no idea how the sizing runs either so I'm hoping it's a slim fit because I went with my larger J. Crew size.

    ReplyDelete
  40. I found the Capri trousers in store for $29.99. there is no 30% but they are 79.99 on sale on line. Still a much better deal.

    ReplyDelete
  41. I bought 3 pencil skirts for about $180 this morning - raj paisley, and both colors of the eyelet skirt. I probably won't keep them all (the pencil skirt section of my closet is getting a little out of control) but this seemed like a good time to try them!

Anyone else notice there are a few new arrivals this morning too? Not much, but a few things here and there.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Argh, I found a belt I like, but the $8.95 shipping totally cancels out the 30% off....still, debating. Dang you JC!
