J.Crew is offering 20% off select styles of Women's Knits and Tees (click here to shop online). This offer is expires 11/15/09 and is available online only.
What is great (and a bit surprising) about this sale is that it includes a lot of new arrivals added yesterday. :) Some items on sale include:
- Slub Cotton Faded Floral Tee
(Item 20455; Regular $39.50, now $31.50) - Slub Cotton Snow-Gem Tee
(Item 20486; Regular $48.00, now $38.50) - Slub Cotton Beaded-Reindeer Tee
(Item 20462; Regular: $48.00, now $38.50) - Gathered Tie-Front Top
(Item 21106; Regular: $45.00, now $36.00) - Sequin Tiered Ruffle Tissue Tank
(Item 20448; Regular: $49.50, now $39.50)
The Slub cotton masquerade tee is down to $36. It's ringspun cotton and feels so great on! I ordered my regular size small and received it last night. It fits really snug everywhere but wearable. I'm going to try a medium just to see the difference since I'd like to maybe layer a tissue turtleneck under it.
ReplyDeleteAlso, the cute brulee tanks are down to $9.99.
Personally, I don't ever spend that much on a tee shirt. I got some of swirling flowers ones for only $9.99 on sale a few weeks ago. I just can't see spending that much for a tee even if it is embroidered. Just me....
ReplyDeleteI'm going to try a size up on the masquerade tee too. I got the same size I tried on in the antler tee but the masquerade tee fits smaller.
ReplyDeleteYes, I purchased the snow gem tee, a tissue t-neck in navy and a perfect fit tee. I am sure if anyone ordered a tee yesterday they will do a price adjustment.
ReplyDeleteWell, I won't be using the 20% off but the posey tee and beaded crest tee are down to $9.99 and with the Facebook coupon for free shipping I just ordered both. My price range for a tee:)
ReplyDeleteI agree, I try not to purchase the tee's over a certain price point but some of them I really like and end up wearing more often then a $100 sweater. I'm not responding to be a wise-cracker, just giving my perspective. :)
ReplyDeleteLOL of course I just bought a few tees on Monday and I'm sure J.Crew won't do a price adjustment. Oh well. I love the Florence Tee! I bought it in dusty shale after seeing it on Gigi and it is really pretty. Fits TTS.
ReplyDeleteRoxy,
ReplyDeleteIf the tees were full priced they will but not if they were on sale.
The site just updated at 8:40; right before my eyes. Scored a belt I had been wanting:)Thank goodness for the free shipping no minimum codes:)
ReplyDeleteUm I just went into knit overload. I got the snow-gem tee, the authentic fleece popover in black, beaded florence tee in dusty shale, always cardigan in soft blossom, sequin tiered ruffle tank in black, and the masquerade tee. I had my eye on a few others, but for pete's sake enough is enough ;)
ReplyDeleteP.S. the varsity stripe cardi is back and it's on sale for $59.99.
I placed an order on some new tees yesterday and called for a price adjustment earlier this morning. The CSR noted on my account that I should be credited once my order ships. I'm really pleased to see a promotion this soon on the new arrivals and for it to finally be on items I am actually purchasing. :)
ReplyDeletewell, I'm going to re-order the reindeer tee since it's $10 cheaper than yesterday... loving the free shipping right now... it's easier than trying to get an adjustment
ReplyDelete20% is a nice gesture but not enough of a sale for me. One can only own so many JCrew embellished tees....sometimes enough is enough! The super sale ones for $9.99 are a great deal though esp. with free ship.
ReplyDeleteLindsey B.
ReplyDeleteI think reorder is better too. Now you can pick which of the two is nicer as well.
IRL-
ReplyDeleteI also agree with you about the tees. I have paid full price for many JC tees and I wear them to death. I try to get them on sale when I can but if I know I will be wearing it frequently I just go ahead and pay full price. I have the famous rose tee that I paid full price for and if I had waited for it to go on sale I would have never got one.
I picked up the snow gem tee. Since it is a snowflake I think I will be able to wear into late Feb.
I ordered the Slub cotton beaded-reindeer tee, two Perfect-fit scoopneck corsage tees, and the Graphic stripe forever cardigan.
ReplyDeleteAnyone know which tee that is in the picture?
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteLooking for advice from all you great JCA's. I'm thinking about the authentic fleece popover with the 20% off. Does anyone own it? Thoughts? Is it cute with just a tee under? Also considering the sherpa long hoodie. I have last year's and think it's too short. Would love to have a longer one but I just bought Jaspe and probably have enough hoodies.
ReplyDeleteMrs. Krash- i think its the
ReplyDeleteSilk-rose tissue tee item 21108, its on sale for $25.50. Looks super cute in that email! HTH!
OT...Any of you who were wanting to purchase the Chiffon Ruffle Cardigan, but saw that it "sold out" yesterday within hours, do a search for it and you'll see it's back up in every size and color. It's not listed under the sweaters or new arrivals anymore, but you can find it through the search. HTH!! :)
ReplyDeleteI would pay full price for a JCrew tee but the quality IMO is just not there. Countless reports of holes and seam issues. Sale only for me and super sale at that!
ReplyDeleteI am with Corduroy and Genny. What for the deals. There will always be cute tees to buy and lots of people have copied the rose tee to death so I have bought two similar ones for much less.
Sarah,
ReplyDeleteI was thinking of suggesting that yesterday. I noticed that last fall. One belt was there one day and sold out the next and then it was not to be found online. Two days later it was back in full stock. So always call CS or keep searching for that much wanted item.
Hello all! New to JCA, but a huge Jcrew fan. I was soo excited by the sale items, that I snapped up a Collier blouse, Reindeer T in glazed hazelnut, and the Wool Twill Studio Trouser in Copper. Looks great IRL, tried on at BM store in Houston. Used the 150SHIP promo code...
ReplyDeleteLol, I told myself I wasn't going to shop this week, but given my long-standing antler obsession I couldn't resist the reindeer tee for 20% off plus free shipping.
ReplyDeleteThe masquerade t has a grammatical error in the French. And I thought Jenna had a French husband???
ReplyDeletecrewcrazy, i have the fleece popover and it's perfect with just a tee or tank underneath. i love that it's essentially a sweatshirt but one that can be worn in public and still looks nice! the sherpa hoodies are the perfect length--not too overwhelmingly long. hope this helps!
ReplyDeleteCorrie, are you referring to the period at the end of "Le bal d'hiver"?
ReplyDeleteAnyway I just received mine and it's beyond expectations, such a fun and well done tee for this time of the year, to wear at informal parties etc. I had ordered it just because I was curious and it was the right price for the free shipping code last week but now I'm going to call for a price adjustement as I'm going to keep it.
I agree that my regular size (XS) is a little big snug, so you may want to size up, especially if you are concerned by sheerness. However in my experience ringspun tees tend to stretch out after being washed, so I'm going to order a S.
I'm going to post pics later on my blog.
Today I ordered the antlers one and the Jaspe. They are really getting my money with the no minimum codes...
Corry - what does the masquerade tee say?
ReplyDeleteSorry, I meant I am NOT going to order a S, keeping the XS...
ReplyDeleteCorduroy, thank you! I called and they adjusted my account with no issues. :)
ReplyDeleteI just ordered the masquerade, crest, and some other tees, forever striped cardigan and the fan placket shirt.
ReplyDeleteNot good for my wallet...
Hi Ema, no, I was referring to the "du" in "une celebration du ce qui etait et ce qui sera." It should be "de." (So the t reads: A celebration of the what was and what will be, instead of a celebration of what was and what will be). Chuckle. But it is still cute. Looking forward to seeing yours styled on your blog!
ReplyDeleteThanks Corry! Now I don't have to bablefish.
ReplyDeleteDid anyone notice that when you go to the jewelry page, the model on top looks like she is wearing a cotton version of the victoria blouse? I'm intrigued, but don't see it anywhere else on the site.
ReplyDeleteI just picked up the tango tank in dusty blossom...
ReplyDeleteOT here: does anyone know about the quality of the bling cardigans and the quality of Talbots cashmere?
ReplyDeleteI'd been up half the night thinking about how to justify purchasing the $150 Jaspé sequined slouchy sweatshirt so you know when I discovered the 20% off knits this morning it was music to my ears. And with free shipping no min - what perfect timing! Hope it's not too big as they were out of smalls.
ReplyDeleteCan anyone comment on the fabric of the textured jersey ribboned collier tee? Its 19.99 and I'm really tempted but if its essentially tissue tee material I'll pass.
ReplyDeleteIs it more of a slub cotton or is it super thin? Thanks in advance!
I can't believe there aren't any more smalls in the Jaspé sequined sweatshirt!! >:|
ReplyDeleteStacie: I have that tee in the heather ice color. It is not a tissue tee. To me, it feels more like the perfect tee texture. In any event, I got my normal size, it fits TTS and is not sheer. I'm not loving the tissue tees anymore because they get too loose and slouchy on me after one wearing/washing. This one seems very nice and for the price, you can't go wrong.
ReplyDeleteOh boy, so much for not buying myself anything so close to Christmas! Very glad they're doing this sale because I too end up wearing these knits more often than my more expensive items, but sometimes just can't justify fiddy dollars on these tees, as bedazzled as they are :P.
ReplyDeleteOrdered the bouquet tee in soft dove (I already have it in ivory, i love it!), the slub-cotton silk-bib henley, and the sequin tiered ruffle tissue tank, since I missed out on all the other tiered ruffle tanks. I also snagged the forever stripe long cardi in black, which I have been eying since it came out (finally on clearance), and a flower pin for no reason! Used the FB code as well. Woo hoo :)
Cass: The cotton victoria is a new item. I actually bought it in navy (there is a photo on my blog) and was told that it'll come in blush, grey, and a few other colors! It was $39.50.
ReplyDeleteShopalot: Thanks! Agree about the tissue tees; too many issues for the price.
ReplyDeleteThis promo just made my day. Now I'll have to make some decisions!
ReplyDeletetres tippy: don't recall seeing it at my B&M couple days ago. Is it part of the recent rollout or? Do you have the item # for the cotton victoria? Thnx!
ReplyDeleteAnyone have the perfect fit ruffle henley? I know it's a basic but does the ruffle do anything for it? Would it work under cardis, hoodies...
ReplyDeleteThanks
Corrie, you are right but I didn't even notice that other phrase on the tee shirt, I had to look for it!
ReplyDeleteI called them and got a price adjustment as I bought it less than 7 days ago (they were very nice about it).
I have posted pictures on my blog if anyone is interested. By the way, IT'S NOT slub cotton as the description says, it's RINGSPUN, so it's more fitted.
tres tippy, thanks for the info! I want one! I haven't seen them in any of the NYC B&Ms yet. Is it S/M/L sizing?
ReplyDeleteI am loving the sequin ruffle tanks but unable to choose a color, maybe I need them all !
ReplyDeleteI got the Sparkling Roses tee (pewter color) when they had the extra 20% sale the other week. I love it- very versatile and goes with everything. I couldn't justify full price- but with the markdown and extra 20%- it was worth it. It fits true to size.
ReplyDeleteI also go the Double Cloth Camino coat on markdown with the extra 20% and I love it! I hesitated to buy another black coat but this one is really nice and I don't have one like this in my closet (my justification of the moment- hah!)
The fit is true to size. Not too tight but not too loose. You can fit a medium weight sweater comfortably under it. I normally take a 6 and the 6 fit me fine. It doesn't come in petites so I do have to hem the sleeves a bit. Its a super easy hem though as the sleeves don't have cuffs or buttons! So I can even hem it myself!
I must say, JCrew is having a lot of promotions lately with free shipping, etc. I hope this continues!
tres tippy--do you have the style number for that cotton victoria top?
ReplyDeleteThanks!
Sarah

ReplyDeleteOnce again, I got a notice that my order for the Harbor Wool peacoat was cancelled because they were out of stock. (This happened 2 weeks ago when they had the 30% off coat sale. My order got cancelled even though JC.com showed stock on waitlist. Customer service reordered if for me).
And once again, the website is showing stock available, but this time with no waitlist! So I called CS again and they reordered it (third time now) and are giving me free air shipping. We'll see if this one sticks.
Too many issues with the "Tissues"! Reminder to self: No more buying t-shirts with the word "tissue" in the description. My full price one from an August purchase already has holes :(
ReplyDeleteThe reminder to self not to buy is ever increasing, Do Not Buy Cashmere, Dream, tissue tees from JC.
ReplyDeleteI just ordered the Always Cardigan in Black based on Gigi's review earlier this week. I could've/would've bought a whole lot more, but I'm trying to be good...just bought a house!
ReplyDeleteI ordered the ribbed featherweight scoopneck in pewter.
ReplyDeleteThe gathered tie-front top in shore pink.
And I couldn't resist two new sweaters:
Merino rose corsage scoopneck in rosebud and dream rumpled cardigan in cinnamon stick.
I haven't even gotten the holiday catalogue yet. It's killing me.
J. Crew pisses me off with high prices, but I love them. I can't cut the cord. Hee.
Arianna, I so understand about buying a house vs. clothes. The year my husband and I bought a house - which was the year we got married, I don't think I bought a stitch of new clothing for 18 months. It was all about tile, ceiling fans and rugs - and furniture.
ReplyDeleteI spend waaaay too much at this place... I love it though. :) :) :)
ReplyDeleteJust a warning: someone else mentioned that they must have hired some newbies for the holidays at CS. I definitely spoke with one of them this afternoon. She told me that everything ending in .99 was final sale! I asked to speak to a supervisor, and then she came back and corrected herself. If I hadn't know the policies or been insistent, I would have been stuck with the merch.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry to hear about the tissue ts. I've had trouble with ts before (not tissue, as never tried them) but seem to have forgotten that when I placed an order for a striped tissue t today, sucked in by the promotion and free shipping (bravo, JC, you've gotten $130 total out of me thus far with the FS). I'm leaning toward returning now. I'm grateful for all the helpful comments here.
Just got back from mall - stopped by j.crew to return watercolor leopard skirt, which was a big disappointment. SA asked me if I'd expected it to be more purple (yes!) and then said so did she - and she even said she was glad she hadn't ordered it.
ReplyDeletePicked up the holiday catalogue and just browsing through it over a cup of tea. Love the snowy pictures, wished clothes had been styled with exuberance, not excess.
Saw the "crushed grape" purple - thanks, lovetoshop4bags and math teacher, you were right, it is a gorgeous purple :-)
My list of DNB at jcrew: cashmere, dream sweaters, most of their cotton tees.
La Belle Helene: I just received my catalog today, and some of the pics are plain ridiculous, page 66 is just too much!
ReplyDeletecasual-crew, oh that *is* absurd. I think j.crew has become a bit cliched with their predictability in styling fancy clothes like a sequin jacket with cords/cargo pants - we get it, mix feminine with masculine ... only sometimes, feminine looks best with feminine. As the song goes, I enjoy being a girl :-)
ReplyDeleteOkay, has anyone ever had trouble with the tees (all kinds-tissue, slub, etc) getting holes near the bottom front? At first I thought they were from moths, but I'm super-duper clean and all the holes appear in the same spot. I think they're from rubbing against the tops of my jeans, above the button where there is a little "corner," but can't really tell. Just want to know if anyone else has had this problem!
ReplyDeleteI purchased 2 slub cotton silk bib tees and both "bibs" are off center! The quality is so poor these days, that I think I am no longer a j.crew girl.
ReplyDeletesuzy,
ReplyDeleteI know EXACTLY what you mean! So sorry. I feel I am no longer a JCrew girl either.
After a lot of back and forth on those $9.99 tees, I passed on them and got the herringbone bucket hat instead. I "*know* I'm buying those dang tees because the price is good, but honestly, if I wasn't attracted to them at full price (or 20-30% off), why cave now? I have plenty of perfect fit tees that are nice quality without hole issues :).
ReplyDeletejcrewjunkie: Re. the tees, with my tissue tees in particularly, I noticed that if I wasn't too careful, I was catching the bottom of my tees in my jean zippers (I know, I know...I'm kind of a klutz that way). Something about the texture of the tissue tees in particular made them fold just so...irritating and why I have sworn off the tissue tees as well.
OT: Went to ON and Gap for their Friends and Family sale and found some nice basics for the kids and ribbed t-necks for $13 -- can't beat that! The Edamame colored ribbed turtleneck is a pretty color IRL - much nicer than on the website. Just check the sleeves at the arm for good stitching! Quite a few were mis-stitched.
OT (kinda): I still have a BNWT "Headache" tee size small that I will be taking back to a b&m tomorrow unless someone wants to take it off my hands. I paid full price for it ($29.50) and will sell it for $33 shipped. If interested, email me at musingsonmtn@gmail.com TONIGHT! :)
ReplyDeleteI also have the Slub Embroidered Floral tee in Champagne (BNWT...still in bag) that I'll be taking back. Again, paid full price so I'll sell for $40 shipped. musingsonmtn@gmail.com if interested.
ReplyDeleteJ Crew Junkie~
ReplyDeleteThat is what I am saying....the tissues are too thin!! So thin that the holes start appearing, right about where you mentioned. My holes started also in front. For a 45 dollar shirt I was expecting it to last for longer than a couple of months. I think the crewlade is wearing off now....
It's nice to see a "blanket" promo that you don't have to use a code for. I've caved on a couple small items, like a ten dollar tuxedo front long sleeve tee and the crest tee. I have had mixed luck with tissue tees, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I definitely had the internal debate, am I only buying because it's wicked cheap compared to full price? Like others, I end up wearing tanks and tees under everything, and dressier items go unworn for months at a time so it's tempting to spend a few bucks more. But often, the time you have to spend babying these oh so pretty cotton tees adds to the real price of the item. So I'm resigned to the fact that I'll keep being suckered in, but only at the sale prices. They really do look cuter to me if they're more affordable!
ReplyDeleteHeidi, if you're reading today, thanks again for telling me about where to find the pearl and ribbon necklace. It came tonight on the big brown truck, and it's so pretty, thanks a million!
crewcrazy, the sherpa hoodie in the grey is on sale, b&m only, for $39.99. It does look nicely longer than last years' version.
OK, is JC mad at me? The only jersey dress I want, the ruffle rose, is the only one not on sale. Boo. I ordered it to size test and returned it to wait for a better price what feels like five gazillion years ago. (I'm still waiting.) And while I am kvetching, when will the black and brown Cosettes go down to $60? I promise to do my part and buy a pair! Just make the price better! Sheesh.
ReplyDeleteOT: Does anyone know what shoes are worn in the product shot for the ikat pencil skirt? They're slingback platform peep toe mary janes in a platinum with a cool detail at the buckle area that makes it look like one side of a bow. Looks to be the same material as the Veronique. They are most heinously styled with droopy nude fishnet anklets, so zoom in at your own risk, but other than that they are verrry nice.
ReplyDeleteReading everyone's posts on the Ts is so sad. I never buy them, never bought them. They are paper thin and don't look worth $5. much less $45. I love the fit of the Perfect Fit Ts but wish they were ever so slightly thicker.
ReplyDeleteI have had better luck and quality buying tees from the GAP and ON this year than from J Crew. The layering tees from the GAP this Fall are amazing, substantial, they feel great on, JC slub and tissue tees on the other hand have not held up very well and have arrived in the package with holes. I use my old tissue tees as nightshirts, that is all they are good for.
ReplyDeleteThe Holiday Styling Tips are the most ridiculous things I have ever see. Seriously. I understand pushing boundaries and the notion of inspiration ... but are they thinking? The masculine/feminine and casual/dressy formula works in real life but, within reason ...
ReplyDeleteLast week I paid full price for a slub cotton tuxedo bib tee, and wore it and washed it once - and it already has a hole in the front. I am calling CS to return it. I've never had a problem with the slub cotton tees, although I've returned other J Crew tees for hole problems. No way should a $40 shirt get in a hole in the fabric after just one wear... I really loved this one too :(
ReplyDeleteI always wondered about the Headache Tee. Who would want a tee that reminded them of something horrible IMO--a headache. I don't get that one at all.
ReplyDeletejcrewjunkie:
ReplyDeleteI've had the same problem with the tissue tees. All my tissue tees from last year has holes in that same location. I've had to exchange a slub cotton one from just one wearing this past summer. I've also had holes in the ring spun tees. I always wash my embellished tees in a mesh bag, gentle cycle and line dry. I'm going to stay away from tissue tees unless they are $10-15 range and get tees that I absolutely love.
When I mentioned this hole issue to the SAs they just look at me weird. I guess they don't wear JC as much as me?
It's funny..I have no issues with any of my tees from J Crew. I have a gazillion of all the varying fabrics and I feel so fortunate! My favorites are the ringspun, I'm not nearly as much a fan of the slub because they fit me very strangely...not as much stretch. I have the least amount of experience with tissue but I did just buy the stripe version so hoping no issues.
ReplyDeleteBTW-if you think the women's tees are thin..you should feel the Crewcuts! Yikes..those are an ADORABLE rip-off! They are so thin but super soft and so damn cute I couldn't resist getting the dog versions and the giraffe on the 20% off sale.
sweetsy - beware the Crewcuts tees, too. It is hit or miss IMO. My daughter's giraffe tee was so incredibly thin it was like transparent! So it was no surprise that it developed a hole in it the very first time I washed it.
ReplyDeleteThe Crewcuts slub tees are better, but beware of any that have sewn on embellishments, they come off easily.
Now the Rosie tees are awesome and much thicker, perfect for kids. These will last a long time.
jcmama: I agree that the SAs don't buy the tees, b/c I have done a couple of returns of tees with holes and they always act surprised. My last art tee return was the black-beaded crest and sequin tee, the SA actually gave me the third degree about how I washed it! "Did you wash with gentle soap? Did you wring it? Wash it inside out?" Oh, and the last made me laugh, "Why don't you dry clean it? Oh, do you want another one?" Ugh, I told him it was ridiculous to dry clean a t- shirt, but then perhaps he thought it was ridiculous that I spent $36 dollars on a t-shirt.
ReplyDeleteto everyone who messaged/emailed me about the cotton victoria top, the style number is 20437. more than likely you won't be able to order it until it appears online but it's worth a shot :)
ReplyDeletejcrewjunkie: YES! I thought it was just me. Holes have been appearing on almost all of my t-shirts and in the same spots you mentioned. I totally baby my embellished tees, hand wash only and flat dry. Lately I've been spending so much time stitching up little holes and tears in the shirts. I swear I won't buy any more, then the new tees are out and I buy another bunch. Crewlade, I'm drinking it!
ReplyDeletei also have a small hole in the front, just under the belly button area, of all my j-crew & gap t-shirts. this hole appears after a few washes & grows each time it's washed. needless to say, i've stopped buying shirts from these companies, which is too bad since they were my favorite clothing stores.
ReplyDelete
