  1. i wish i had it this morning! well the code works... but is this an official code or a glitch?

  2. The code works but the site is so slow looks like we are going to get the infamous Stayed Tuned message.

    ReplyDelete
  3. Thanks a BUNCH! I'll be stalking a few items tomorrow AM.

    ReplyDelete
  4. Everything is pretty picked over. It looks like they even took things out of the sale section while they run the 30% off. God, I hate when they do that only to have it show up again after the promotion.

    ReplyDelete
  5. i agree with joangee, way picked over. assuming this code works tomorrow, i think im gonna wait till morning for the restock. set your alarm clocks ladies!

  6. Maybe someone can help me!

  7. Hmm... I may take advantage of this promotion if I can ever find out why when I browse J Crew I cannot view ANY ITEMS without seeing this ugly green page I have tried nearly everything, but nothing works. The only time I got it to work was when i was running in safe mode.

  8. YESSSSSS This just made my day. Did not get my double serge skirt but I got some trouser jeans and a b-day present for my mom. I agree it's totally picked over now but I hope tomorrow morning it'll be restocked! Thank you for posting this Alexis, I had no idea about it!

mama needs a new pair of shoes: my sentiments exactly! lol!

  9. I can't get on the site :( It won't let me. I've tried clearing my cookies and history, resetting my IP address, and different browsers. Can anyone help??? It gives me this message:
    Forbidden

You don't have permission to access /index.jsp on this server.

  10. Is anyone else addicted to AM a J. Crew like I am? Once they stop restocking final sale, I don't know what I'll obsess about in the mornings. I get a THRILL finding the $9.99 tee or the $19.99 sweater that I have wanted. I have purchased everything I needed to prepare my closet for spring/summer without breaking the bank. Thank goodness the only restock once a day or my family would have to stage an intervention just to get me away from my computer. I really wonder if I will start to go through withdrawal symptoms once the packages stop arriving. Am I the only one?

    ReplyDelete
  11. I reordered a jacket in a different size but couldn't find anything else.

The travel trench is a great deal now. I'm kicking myself for buying it so early!

    ReplyDelete
  12. OT... I remember someone a while back posting about how they dealt with that stupid itchy lining in the collar of the Hammered Silk Tank. Could anyone point me to that post, or re-post on how they made it less itchy? I want to just cut it out but I think it will leave another jagged itchy edge. Any help is appreciated! Thank you!

Also, I am itching for the weekly exchange post... I have several items to post due to my recent ridiculous amount of purchasing. Whoops.

    ReplyDelete
  13. ugh I just purchased this MORNING! darn :(

    hmm more? lol

    ReplyDelete
  14. anon 358,
No you're not the only one!!! I'm in the boat with you! The early bird catches the worm. And with these restocks so early, if ya snooze you lose! Luckily i'm on eastern time so it usually does it around 8am. This morning I got up at 7 and checked the site, no restocks yet, so i set my alarm for 8 and fell back asleep. Hehe.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Are you all waiting for tomorrow morning to order? I am worried that if I order now with the code it will be taken away when they review the order because it might not be valid yet...

    ReplyDelete
  16. i see it restocked the flora dress ive been swooooning over... but its a large :(.. this 30% would have had be scoop that up!

    ReplyDelete
  17. Eh, there's nothing I really want at the moment. I'll wait til early tomorrow's restock and hope the code still works!!!

    ReplyDelete
  18. Christina,

I am only waiting until tomorrow because the things that I still want are not in stock right now. I'm waiting to see if they come available when they restock in the morning. If there is something that you want that is available now, I would order it now. If the website acknowledges that code, then I wouldn't think you would have anything to worry about.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Anon - That makes sense. I want the plaza coat and its available on there now so I think I might go for it. Thanks for responding.

    ReplyDelete
  20. So you guys think that the code will still work tomorrow? Hmmm...there are a couple things I would like but there could be more tomorrow. Ugh. Not an easy choice. When did this extra30 become available? I still haven't received an email.

    ReplyDelete
  21. I just got the glenbrae boots in size 10, root, the suede tall ones. Still paid $96 with shipping and everything but I don't care; I've wanted these all fall/winter. I guess that's good for a pair of $300 boots. I called in my order because I also wanted to open a JCrew credit card (terrible idea probably!) and I did not have to wait on hold at all and got a really nice CS rep. Yay! Now let's hope they actually arrive.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Has anyone been able to combine this and the student/educator discount?

    ReplyDelete
  23. Im hoping that it'll be there tomorrow. But why would they put out a new code when CAKE and ICING haven't quite expired yet? They don't usually do that. I'm thinking that either this is a glitch and you should take advantage of it now, or they fixed the system early which is allowing for the code.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I hope this is the new code for this week since CAKE and ICING expire tonight. It would make sense to offer it in hopes of getting rid of the majority of Final Sale before the Spring Arrivals go up online. :)

    ReplyDelete
  25. I just used the code. After not having ordered from JCrew online since July I have placed 4 orders in the past week. I need help!

    ReplyDelete
  26. In regards to the student discount: If you place an online order and get the student discount by calling or emailing, do they also credit you back shipping if your new total w/the credit results in lower shipping costs? I hope this makes sense, any advice is appreciated :)

    ReplyDelete
  27. Has anyone see the gray Nicky skirt (it was a retail only color), size 0 at their local B&M? My DID have it, but I wait too long and now it's gone.

    ReplyDelete
  28. anon 521,
im pretty sure they apply the 15% to your items and that gives you a new total and then they add the shipping within that price bracket. and then that difference between what you paid is the credit you get back. hth!

    ReplyDelete
  29. no they won't credit you back for any shipping difference.

also based on my recent experiences, it is getting especially harder and harder to ask for any adjustment even the legitimate ones. A couple of days ago, I called to apply for the student discount to an order, which haven't applied any discount to. They rejected me because the order was placed a couple of weeks ago. They told me that I should call them right away. I was never told such a policy before. I knew this was just an excuse they wanted to use to cut the cost. Now, I prefer to use extra20 or extra 30 coupon. I do not want to feel that I am begging for anything.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Hey ladies, does anyone know anything about the "Alabaster tweed coat*? This is the cheapest it's ever been--$189.99 plus 30% off, orig. $395--and it's not available in stores, so I've been thinking about finally purchasing it after stalking it for a while.

I am a little concerned though, about the material it's made of--a wool blend that includes nylon and acrylic! If I spend $160 on a coat (including shipping), I want it to stay looking nice for at least 2-3 years. I love nice things but I'm not made of $$!

If any JCAs have experience with/advice on this coat, I would love to hear it.

BTW, I think the reason I love this coat so much is because it reminds me of a tweed coat that Julia Roberts wore with knee-high leather wellington boots in an InStyle magazine shoot, in Venice back in the late '90's. I already have the boots, and I love the thought of finally achieving the 'look' that enchanted me so much back in the day.

Then all I'll need is the ticket to Venice. ;) ;)

  31. Does anyone know what color "Royal" is on the Alessia peep toe? It looks like a very dark greyish blue...navy? I can't tell, lol.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Royal is dark blue, navy pretty much. It's not gray at all (in my opinion). Hope that helps.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Grr... still cannot figue out why I cannot view any JCrew items except when I start in safe mode. Anyone else getting those ugly green pages for every item you click?
    TIA for any help!

    ReplyDelete
  34. I know people have discussed this already - but how does the Kya cami run? I want to order it, but am not sure what size to get... I have the Quinn in a 6, if that helps as a point of reference (and I tend to need to space in my hips, as opposed to the bust)... TIA!

    ReplyDelete
  35. About the student/educator discount:

I placed two orders today, one online and one over the phone, and I was not able to combine the extra 30% with my student discount on the phone order. I emailed contactus to try to get it on the online one... haven't heard back but I will let everyone know if they let me. But I'm assuming they won't.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Christina-

I have the Kya and I find it fits like the Victoria cami (vs. the Elizabeth which, even in an XS, was like a tent on me). I have never tried on the Quinn, so I cannot compare it with that. Sorry. I took my usual size, and I found it fit just fine, but not tight. I really like it, and wear mine with the Michelle cardi.

The keyhole is super low, so I wear a cami under it. I have a relatively small chest, so this shirt may fit you differently if you are larger on top.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Christina - One more thing (since you mentioned hips - the Kya is more straight (again, like the Victoria), vs. the Elizabeth, which (if I remember correctly) flared a bit more.

    ReplyDelete
  38. It's either this code or free ship, right? I just ordered something with free ship; I calculated the difference between that and using 30% off and it was only spare change.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Ugh... my fourth order in the last week! My wallet hates me!

Here's hoping everything comes in ok.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Becca, sounds to me like you better order that alabaster tweed coat - it's been a decade in the waiting :-)

I've been to Venice, and it's a fantastic experience - but watch out for getting lost.

    ReplyDelete
  41. /\ Make that my third, not fourth! :-)

    ReplyDelete
  42. D:

Thanks for the info. I am thinking I'll go with the 8, which is my usual size... I was considering sizing down to a 6, since their camis have been running so big lately, but if it's not as a-line/blousy as the elizabeth and the lydia, I think I'll be safer with the 8 across my hips. Thanks again!!

    ReplyDelete
  43. Oops. This code sent me over the edge - I just picked up the Cross-hatch schoolgirl skirt and the Emerson blouse in Ivory for $70, and that includes shipping. Damn!

    ReplyDelete
  44. Concerning the student/educator discount:

I placed an order today with the EXTRA30...$149 + shipping for three sweaters, a velvet Ecole, and a herringbone Fiona! Based on the clarification I received from a customer service rep just a week ago (email pasted below), it would appear that since EXTRA30 is not a "global" promotion, all orders using it should qualify for the additional teacher discount! I emailed right after placing the order, and was sure to forward the email I got confirming that it was a-okay! Haven't heard anything back yet, but I assume I will within 24 hours or so.

    Keeping my fingers crossed....

    "Dear **:

We would be happy to clarify the policy for you, we know it can be a bit confusing sometimes. The teacher discount can be combined with the coupon EXTRA20, but not with a coupon like JINGLE (a coupon we offered in December for 30% off the total order). The difference between the two
is that the EXTRA20 coupon only applies to sale items and can therefore be combined with the teacher discount. A coupon like JINGLE, however, effects the entire order and can not be combined with any other offer.

If you ever have any questions, feel free to ask us before you place your order. We would be happy to assist you anytime.

If we can be of further assistance, please let us know by responding to this email at contactus@jcrew.com or calling a J.Crew Associate at
    1-800-562-0258.

    Sincerely,

    TJ"

  46. La Belle Helene,

I can't tell you how hard I laughed when you mentioned getting lost in Venice. I was there a few years ago with my husband and his Uncle. The "boys" (no offense Jeff) "knew" where they were going and wouldn't listen to me when I told them we were going the wrong way. Needless to say, we wondered around the back streets of Venice for nearly an hour before they decided to listen to me and I got us back to the canal.

  47. Works! Got these:

    McKenzie Midheel Sandals
    http://www.jcrew.com/browse/single_product_detail.jsp?PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=845524441769630&FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=2534374302023923&bmUID=1232929110359

Love the ankle strap and midheel. Eagerly look forward to receiving them!

    Silver Cloud Cashmere Cardigan
    http://www.jcrew.com/AST/Browse/WomenBrowse/Women_Feature_Assortment/JCrewCashmere/sweaters/PRDOVR~99851/99851.jsp

Tried this cardi in store a while ago but at $398, I let it go. It is definitely one of the cutest and softest cardigans in the entire winter 2008 collection.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Argh! That would have saved about $150 if I had the code 2 days ago. I wish they would do price adjustments for final sale items.

    ReplyDelete
  49. There is just nothing that I am *that* into right now. Maybe because I've been flipping through the pages and filling and emptying my shopping cart for the last week wishing there was a better promo! Now it's here and I'm totally bored of it. I will still probably get up tomorrow morning to check the re-stocks. Maybe I'll be inspired :)

    ReplyDelete
  50. Has anyone tried on the Silver Cloud Cashmere Cardigan? I can't decide between the small and medium.

    ReplyDelete
  51. anon at 7:02 PM: That's priceless :-) I honestly believe Venice may well rank no. 1 in the world for ease of getting lost... and then it's so tempting to just keep walking down one more street, only it ends in a canal, and then there's backtracking and then...oh! It's an hour later ... :-)

    ReplyDelete
  52. I was holding off on my order and I am glad to see the code today. Thank you. Just an FYI. I called customer service to see if I could get a nice rep that would combine the CAKE code with the EXTRA30, and she told me there was no EXTRA30 code being offered right now.So I just said "oh thank you" and hung up. Didn't want to give her the heads up that it was working. So this may be an error? My order went thru online with the 30% discount.
I love this blog. Thank you all for all the information. I have been a lurker for months now and this is my 1st post.

    ReplyDelete
  53. JENNIFER@7:39--- Call and ask for the price adjustment anyway!! They've adjusted prices for me on sale items in the past. Explain how much money you'd save, and I'm sure they'll help you.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Anon @ 7:43, the silver cloud is TTS. It fits like other standard cashmere cardis though the sleeves are a little bit tighter. I did not have to size up/ down.

A weird thing about this cardi is the sleeves. I got an XS. The sleeves hit at a very ambiguous point! I would say they are between full and 3/4 sleeves.

    ReplyDelete
  55. I ended up buying the madeline coat in heather majestic purple. I love the color--I almost bought/kept a lady day in that color at the beginning of the season, but ended up deciding it was too bright for my only wool coat (for me). So Im glad to see it at this price- $90 + shipping. It'll also carry into spring, as my lady day (chocolate colored) has thinsulate and is heavier. I think the violet will look great in spring.

I hope it fits; I have a 4 in the lady day w/thinsulate, but early winter when I tried on the madeline (w/o thinsulate) the 2 fit better. I hope I haven't gained any weight! Anybody own both/can comment?

    ReplyDelete
  56. yes, ladyday is one size smaller.

    ReplyDelete
  57. EM -
Thanks for bringing up the stupid itchy lining in the collar of the Hammered Silk Tank.

I wore mine for the first time the other day and thought maybe I was alone in this. Did you get a reply??

    Someone help!

    ReplyDelete
  58. Ugh! I placed three...let's say "substantial" orders in the last few days....this just makes me ill. Not so much when it comes to the tees or the other lesser priced items, but for coats or those Crackle Metallic Mary Jane Heels....I wish I could re-order or get a price adjustment. No fair! A lot of the items I ordered were final sale and may or may not show up again, but man, I'm so tempted to re-order the items I bought that are returnable so I can take those back and get the better price. Darn you and your promotions, J.Crew. (But you know I just can't stay away!)

    ReplyDelete
  59. hey guys,

i'm interested in purchasing a lady day coat. does anyone know if the price is cheaper in store or online??

    ReplyDelete
  60. I've been trying to track down the Brewster Extended Calf Boots in black (size 7.5) for what seems like months now. Every morning, I've been checking to see if they finally had my size in stock, and I finally found it on Friday. Even though at that time they did not have an additional % off, I thought it was worth it to get the boots I really wanted.

While I won't be able to get the additional 30% off, after reading the posts about the student discount, I was able to call tonight and get the additional 15% off my boots. So I'd just like to thank all of you for providing such helpful tips!

    ReplyDelete
  61. To anon at 8:44, from what I know the Lady Day is a catalog/online item only although a few stores might have some that were returned.

    ReplyDelete
  62. wow! nice code.... Can anybody comment on the fit of the Lady Day coat, especially in the shoulders? I usually wear a 2p in tops and bottoms, however, I have relatively wide shoulders. My 2p Fiona jacket is wearable but uncomfortable and I can't layer over anything more than a tissue tee.

Is the Lady Day tight in the shoulders? Should I size up, or just pass since it's Final Sale? Thank you!!

    ReplyDelete
  63. anon @ 8:44 PM -- I have been to a few stores, and most have no coats left. Literally, maybe 2 coats per store, and that was last week.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Sarah:

I have not gotten a reply yet. I put mine on Christmas day and it lasted about 30 seconds before I ripped it off and wore something else. It's awful! But I have the bright peacock color which I am in love with so I must find a way to make it wearable.

So if anyone has suggestions about the itchy hammered silk tank.. please share :)

I also got my student discount on one of my orders so far; here's the e-mail:

    Dear Emily:

We will be happy to apply the student discount to your order. A report has been filed with our Support Services
department to make sure the 15% discount is applied. The credit will be
applied within one to two credit card statements, once your MasterCard
has been charged for the order.

If we can be of further assistance, please let me know by responding
directly to this email or through my contact information which I have
    provided below.

    Best,

    Peyton

  65. im seriously hoping for some updates tomorrow on the site...i have two items i want to order but hoping that i have at least a couple more items to pay max shipping for a lot of items and 30% off.....im setting my alarm to 5 am lol

    ReplyDelete
  66. I'm glad I'm not the only one who sets their alarm to coincide with JCrew.com's morning update...

    ReplyDelete
  67. I was at the Lake Forest, IL store today and the SA told me that the additional 30% off FS items ends today.

    ReplyDelete
  68. To people wondering about lady day coat, I ordered one in a 0 w/ thinsulate and it was so tight I could barely breath! Yet my Carrie coat is a 0 and I could easily have sized down and Plaza coat in 0 was also too big...

I would say to size up one size with lady day, as in my experience it fits a bit small, espcially in the chest/ribcage.

    ReplyDelete
  69. btw, lady day is gorgeous IRL.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Em :) plus one here. I am glad that JC has pushed the update clock a little bit later. The update used to occur around 6am EST and I did for a few days stalk the website and got some long been sold out items. I told my husband I have a new routine of morning jog, haha.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Ohhhh, not again!!! I woke up this morning at 5am and now the 30% off sale!!! This means I have to wake up at 5am again tomorrow!! :( I already have some items in my cart and I want to wait until JC restocks the site so I don't have to pay extra for shipping.

    ReplyDelete
  72. Hi all,

I'd like to put my .02 1/5(adjusted for inflation) on the Lady Day.

I tried both the petite 6 & 8. Usually, I'm a petite 6 or a reg 4. However, I bought the 8 as the 6 was rather tight in the bodice. In fact, you could see the outline of the inside pocket through the fabric - a sturdy double knit. That said I'm quite happy with the P8. There is a little more room in the shoulders & the waistline detail is closer to my natural waist suits me better than the more mod Lilly or Greta cuts.

I have it in the dark poppy & consider it lovely. Also would try for a salt or majestic purple at the sale +30% price if I could.

    HTH

    Heather:D

  76. I've heard a lot of praise for the Travel Trench on this blog. You know, you COULD apply the EXTRA30 on the travel trench. It's currently discounted to $148.00. Maybe it's time to finally pick it up.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Thanks for all the input on the Lady Day. I'm a regular 0 (roomy, but can work) or a 2p otherwise. So I think I'll go for the 4p in Sea Salt! :-)

I called J Crew and asked for the measurements of the shoulders. I'm very impressed that I didn't have to wait (no muzak!) and that the CS rep was so knowledgable.

    ReplyDelete
  78. hey rosie, can you post details about the measurements of the lady day? i'm thinking about purchasing one too. Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  79. I placed an order earlier today and just called to ask them to apply EXTRA30 to the order (I used ICING to get free shipping earlier). Apparently the special is not supposed to start until tomorrow, the 26th, but I explained to the CS that it is working online right now. She went back and forth with her supervisor (1st said no, then I asked to speak to the supervisor, was on hold 3 minutes or so, and she came back and said OK).

*LOVE* that the first comment was "I'm sorry, but this code does not start until tomorrow, so I am unable to apply it to the order you placed today" - perfect example of JCrew's attitude of not trying to satisfy and keep frequent customers happy (8 orders in the past 6 weeks people).

Last peeve - why are they not doing % off sales AND free shipping? Come on JCrew - everyone else is!

    ReplyDelete
  80. I emailed JCrew immediately after placing my EXTRA30 order (madeline coat in HMP!) asking for my student discount-- this was about 2 hrs ago- and i already got a response- the answer was yes!

great deal-- orig. $300, now ~80 + ship with both codes. Thanks for responding quickly, Jcrew!

    ReplyDelete
  81. regarding the lady day coat: seems most smaller sizes are posting about the size of this coat but i will also post for consistency :) i wear a 12 in almost all j crew coats (carrie, berry trim astrid, fiona, plaza). i ordered a 12 and 14 in the coat just to make sure bc i was a 14 in the madeline coat. the 14 in the lady day was SO SMALL. i have a large chest but i definitely would have needed the 16. i would definitely size up! the coat is beautiful and a great price! good luck!

    ReplyDelete
  82. I'm thinking about waiting until tomorrow to place an order to get the EXTRA30, can I get the 15% student discount on top of that? How do I get the student discount if I'm buying online?

    ReplyDelete
  83. Anon at 11:05 - The shoulder measurements (seam to seam) are:

    Lady Day 2p - 14.75
    Lady Day 4p - 15
    Fiona 2p - 14.375
    Fiona 4p - 14.625

And, just for fun, I compared with other jackets I own that fit well:
    Banana Republic PS - 14"
    Banana Republic PXS - 15"

But when I measured Fiona myself, it looked more like 14 even. So i'm wondering whether my problem with Fiona is the armholes, not the shoulders, and maybe I should do 2p in Lady Day?

    ReplyDelete
  84. Lindsay and others... thanks for the Lady Day advice. Maybe I will go for the 4p since it's final sale... thanks, and sorry for so many comments! :-)

    ReplyDelete
  85. if a coat has thinsulate, do you recommend sizing up? or does it not matter?

    ReplyDelete
  86. Thanks K, but I called but they told me that they will not do a price adjustment for final sale. Ah well.

    ReplyDelete
  87. There is nothing good left. I am saving my $$$ for new spring stuff. JCrew was too late with the online 30% off. Stores have had this for a long time....

    ReplyDelete
  88. Anon 1:28 AM- I don't have the Lady Coat, but I have two Plaza coat- one thinsulate and one regular in the exact same size. The thinsulate one is definitely tighter on me, especially around the shoulder area. Given a chance, I probably buy the thinsulate one in a bigger size, especially if you plan to wear a sweater that isn't super thin underneath.

    ReplyDelete
  89. Can someone please tell me if the crackle marie janes fit TTS?

    Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  90. milky way-I tried the crackle metallic mary janes on in a 9. Normally I take a 9-9.5 in American shoe sizes, and the 9s felt OK.

    ReplyDelete
  91. Well Rats!
It looks JCrew is NOT going to refresh items this morning. I DID notice that items are being updated individually at different times throughout the day. A CS confirmed that they DO update every hour as returns are opened in the warehouse. I snagged a Berry Trim Astrid in BLUE (gasp) size 12, last night. It magically appeared and I was able to use the 30% code!!! I was also able to snag some perfect fit tanks with the flowers (99268) this morning. There were only 2 available and were in my size, and for 9.99 less 30%, I was more than happy to pay for shipping. I am vaguely remembering that JCrew doesn't do a big item refresh when they have these bigger discount codes available. Anyone else think so?

  92. Milky Way - I bought the crackle MJs as a Christmas present for someone and they fit her great in her normal size and they are GORGEOUS!!!

I'm probably going to buy one of the silk tricotine dresses. Can anyone comment on how "shiny" the silk is?

  93. as for the daily refreshments, I have noticed that the biggest ones are always on Fridays and Saturdays-usually HUGE on those 2 days at about 8 AM. Sundays and Mondays are usually not updated with much-probably not as many returns received on Sundays and Mondays. I have also found that they mark down on both Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Hope this helps!

  94. I asked for an adjustment via email just this morning on two orders I placed last week that i have not rec'd yet. they agreed to do the adjustment as a'one time courtesy"
    Horray!

  95. morning all! i'm thinking about purchasing the houndstooth bow button cardigan. any opinions on it?

  96. Am also waiting for an inventory refresh before I take the plunge. Woke up at 5am and again at 6am, but no dice! :-)

  97. It doesn't look like they have much left over but I did find a few items.

  98. rosie: I did the same thing; granted this was my first time to actually set the alarm to get up that early and to be utterly disappointed....not to mention, very sleepy this morning. LOL!

  99. The site is down for me!

  100. here's a question while i'm waiting to take the plunge...
    shipley jacket or lucinda?

    shipley= more chic
lucinda=love the cut. not sure about an ivory jacket. looks great, but function? i think i'll have makeup on the collar in 5 seconds....

thank you for any input : )

  101. elaine,
Be prepared for makeup on your coat in 5 seconds. I like my white coat but am constantly cleaning the collar.

  102. i tried to place an order this morning for about 1/2 hour before i gave up w/ all the website issues and placed it over the phone. i was able to use the 30% code, plus i told my rep about all my website problems (and it turned out it was also affecting jcrew reps as well, bc she had to relogin at one point), and i was given free shipping. so forget the hassle online, just call it in! i got the perfect tee, a pair of tights and the chiffon ruffle cardigan for $39 including shipping!

  103. I just want to let everyone know that the EXTRA30 also applies to ANYTHING on sale such as the Cotton Aubrey jacket, not just Final Sale items.

    HTH

  104. JC site says "Stay Tuned". Why is it timing out when there is almost nothing left in the sales section? And it does not look like they are restocking anything. Frustrating.

    ReplyDelete
  105. so sad there was no refresh today. i keep checking just in case (how sad is that!) just got my rewards card in the mail too...it's burning a hole in my pocket. not much for being patient, I guess. *sigh*

    ReplyDelete
  106. I would love to take advantage of the 30% off but the website issues are pretty much making that impossible for me. I have gone to the website numerous times this morning and have had problems each time.

    ReplyDelete
  107. Please fix that web site-someone!! It is not working!!

    ReplyDelete
  108. RE: Student/educator discounts on top of EXTRA30.

Woo-hoo, it worked! I have never tried to get the educator discount before, but I emailed JCrew *after* I placed my EXTRA30 order and asked if it could be applied, and they said they'd do it!

(Also, they said that for future requests I should send emails from my official school address, which is good to know.)

Thanks so much to the JCA-ers for the tip!

  109. Where is the snarky anon from last week who said the website is not an issue it was just routine maintenance?

    ReplyDelete
  110. the website goes out so much that when i type in j.crew the fallover addresss comes up instead of the regular. hahah. stupid j.crew... fix this!

  111. I called this morning. They won't give me the EXTRA30 off for an order I placed on Friday. The CS was quite stern about it and claimed that the order's going to be shipped today since it's already been two days.

    ReplyDelete
  112. I got sick of the website problems, so I called in my order. The CS was really sweet, but i couldn't get her to give me free shipping despite the website problems.
I ordered the lady coat in P12 in majestic purple, after reading about going a size up from your regular size.
    I hope I don't regret the purchase.

Anyone have the coat in this color?

  113. Just came back from my B&M. They wouldn't give me the extra 30% for the travel trench. They gave me a cold shoulder and I was very offended with the way they spoke to me. I called CS and had the this all straightened out and they are crediting me for the 30%. They said that final sale ends with .99
and that the travel trench is only a "promo" not FS.

I was surprised how rude the people were to me. They made me feel stupid for asking for the discount when I KNOW for sure online they were giving extra 30 off.

    Last time I go there!

  114. A,

I had the same luck and my order has not even shipped out yet.....

Others get the 30% applied and some don't--par for Jcrew and their crappy inconsistent practices.

I am not buying anything form the current 30%--there is nothing left!

  115. Quit being greedy people!

  116. Has anyone noticed the nicky skirts on sale in their B&M yet? I really want the navy one, but don't want to pay shipping. TIA!

    ReplyDelete
  117. I'm not being greedy...I literally placed my order mere hours before the promo came out so of course I feel upset for missing it! More at myself for not being more patient but I figured since no new promo had come out I would be good to go, that and the inconsistency with some people getting it applied retroactively while others get a stern NO...*SIGH*. no more shopping for me.

  118. Hi Elaine, I vote for the shipley, as always! My sister got the lucida but I am not particularly crazy about those front pockets, especially in a year or two years.
I feel that it is easier to dress up and down with the shipley. The pockets in the lucida look a little casual for me.

  119. Jcrew, you are killing me with all these sales! I have been to the store twice in the last week and online every day except yesterday, when I made myself not look.

    ReplyDelete
  120. D @ 525pm: You might have already gotten an answer about this, but he Palo Alto, CA store had the gray Nicky skirt in 0 last week. Not sure if they still do but you could try calling them. :) They're the same price as online, but no extra % off (because it's a promo / secret sale price).

  121. Anony@3:00

People are not being greedy! OMG. Really if the discount is there what is the harm in asking...one might get lucky:)

  122. I've been looking at the Cotton Cady Claudine dress for a while, but I'm nervous because it looks a little too full in the front. Anyone own it/have opinions about how flattering it is?

    ReplyDelete
  123. Amy:
I saw the Nicky on sale in store last week ($59.50, no additional % off) but it is a much better deal online right now ($49.50 plus 30% off), so it might be worth it if you have other items you want to order. HTH!

    ReplyDelete
  124. I am petite & curvy, & the (petite size) Claudine was hideous on me...sort of lampshade looking, & not cute at all.
I prefer the silk Sophia dress & the other materials that aren't so stiff & structured that they make the dress look like maternity-wear.

I find J.Crew designs tend not to be super friendly to those of us w boobs...I'm only a C-cup, but w many styles I love, it's just not possible to make that work:(

  125. I totally used the code and bought the High-heel flare jean in faded blue wash. The merchandise total was only 20.99! Unbelievable!

    ReplyDelete
  126. Laura,

Good buy but I bet the HHFlares go down even lower in price...I have bought nice jeans from JCrew online for years in the $15.99 range...3 pair last spring in fact...there are still over 99 left in my size so I am waiting as these jeans are so plain (ie. pockets and the color is a bit strange).

  127. Hi, following up on our conversation about Lady Day fit.... my coat arrived!

I am a 2p, so I sized up to a 4p. The coat looks great. The 2p *probably* would have fit better, since the 4p it is huge in the bust, the armholes are a bit low, and waist is big. But even so, after my Fiona fiasco, I don't regret sizing up. I can easily fit a layer or two under my Lady Day. Thanks all for your advice!
