Darlings, is it time for a J.Crew coupon code?

Yes, it is that wonderful time again! :)

"Thanks!" to Five Tomatoes (in the "Darlings, is it time for a J.Crew coupon code?" post) who let us know that J.Crew is offering free shipping on orders of $100+ with promo code SEPTEMBER. This offer expires 9/17/08. :)

"Thanks!" to Melissa (in the "The Great (Weekly) Exchange" post) and Marietta (in the post "Darlings, is it time for a J.Crew coupon code?") who shared with us that J.Crew is offering free shipping on orders of $150+ with promo code AUTUMN. This offer expires 9/17/08. :)

Side note: I have a feeling there is also another free shipping code for a minimum of $175. ;)

  1. I hope this code lasts until after the October merchandise becomes available...I will be REALLY ready to shop, so I hope there is a TON of fabulous new goodies and the website/shipping is actually working properly...hey...a girl can dream, can't she?

    ReplyDelete
  2. FFM: I agree with you! :) I hope this is still available for when the new merchandise gets unveiled. :)

  3. any idea when the new stuff comes out?

sorry, forgot to add: the code AUTUMN expires at 11:59 pm on Sept 17.

  4. It is awfully early for the OCT. stuff to be out...I don't think it will be this Thurs. as predicted......at least not online....

  5. melissa: I know the new roll-out is scheduled for 9/23. But I believe these items are just to close up the fall roll-out and won't be huge. My understanding is the one after the 23rd will be the big "holiday" roll-out.

    ReplyDelete
  6. forgot to mention this is for the in-store merchandise. I'm not sure when the new items will be available on-line. My guess is that same week...

    ReplyDelete
  7. weab: How long after the 23rd is the Holiday rollout supposed to take place?

    ReplyDelete
  8. ffm: I'm not sure but I'd guess about 4 weeks after which would put us at mid-late October.

  9. OT - can anyone comment yay or nay on the Wellies? I stood in a monsoon this weekend at a football game and am now thinking of getting a pair. Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  10. Thanks Weab! I was actually hoping the rollout at the end of this month was going to be filled with all kinds of new stuff...I really hate waiting! :)

  11. I called the other day to ask about new October & the CS could only tell me when the catalogs would be out… she told me the 20th. She mentioned 2 catalogs? I asked what that was about & she just said there was a little one & a regular one. So that didn't tell too much. Curious, though.

Anyone have anymore info. on this?

  12. Anon @ 9:39:
I have a pair of the Printed Two-Tone Wellies from last year (in alpine green with white polka dots) and I am very happy with them! I was in a monsoon last February with water up to my ankles and my feet stayed dry. There was no leaking around the seams and clean up from the mud and ick was easy.
The only thing I had a problem with was the sizing. I am a 7.5 in shoes and they advised for wellies to go up a size (since they didn't carry half sizes). My feet are narrow and the 8's are just a tad too big. I have to wear a couple pairs of thick socks to make them fit snugly. If I had to do it again I'd size down.

  13. Free shipping off $100 or more with the code SEPTEMBER.

  14. anon 9:57: I bet one catalog is the new roll-out and the other one is probably gifting ideas. I remember getting that last year. HTH! :)

FFM: No kidding! I was trying to wait it out just until the 23rd and caved this weekend! I bought the Abstract/Kandinski Skirt (96476), tissue t-neck and a couple of new items that aren't on the web yet: "Grosgrain-Bow City Tee Cotton Cardigan" (96956) and "Textured Jersey France Graphic Tee" (99263).

  15. I have the fleece plaid Wellies from last November's catalog as well as the regular Wellies in the green/navy seahorse critters. I wear a 10 1/2 NARROW and I had to get the 11. They are not too roomy on me and I have a narrow foot but I did put a Dr. Scholl's foam insole in mine. Much better to have them a tad loose then have your toe jamming into the boot and hurting......

  16. For you Bostonians, does anyone have a list of all the T-accessible J. Crew stores? I know about the Cambridgeside Galleria and Copley...

  17. I just received the Free Shipping email for "Autumn", it expires on Wednesday, Sept. 17 @ 11:59 PM ET.

  18. I have one quick guestion. I am college student who doens't have a b&m near her. I have an outlet store, but not the true one. I was wondering if I did make the effort to go to a store, if a coupon that we recieve online, would work in the store, along with my student discount? I know this has probably already been answered. But I was just curious..

  19. WEAB-
I assume these were new items in store items you picked up??

    ReplyDelete
  20. convert5: Yes. They came out last week with just some replenishment items. But not part of the new roll-out for the the 23rd. Right now they are in-store only but they may end up showing online eventually, not sure. hth

  21. OT, another web glitch to be aware of: placed an order yesterday morning, checked status online last night and it said under the status column "general error." I called CS and they said, don't worry it's just another computer glitch. So hopefully that won't prevent the order from shipping out normally...we will see.

  22. There are about 5 new things on the web that I posted yesterday am, I will repost

There have been some new items added to the site this am, the pictures do not show up but if you click on the title, color you get to see the item.

    Ringspun chiffon graphic tee
    $55.00 item 97428

    Crisp cotton jeweled tee
    $88.00 item 96838

    Jersey-knit bow skirt
    $98.00 item 97649

    Vintage french terry tuxedo pant
    $69.50 item 97650

I was surprised that some of the items are dry clean only.

  23. laura1 and anon@11:03 - thanks for the info on the wellies. There's a pair of argyle ones on sale, but I don't know if I'm brave enough to wear argyle boots! I may need to check my b&m and see if I can find a pair to try on. But thanks for the feedback, I will definitely look into these!

  24. This has probably been asked before, but I need to ask again. How do the Bella jackets run? TTS or not? Last year I was able to get size 0/XS in pretty much everything, but with this year's weird sizing issues I have to take a 2 or sometimes even a 4P! Thank you in advance for any help that all of you who own Bellas can give me!

  25. Anyone try on the Soho Dress?

    ReplyDelete
  26. I caved and bought the cord pencil skirt in coral (ships after Nov 10, maybe it will come, maybe not), the ringspun beaded tee in coral, and some socks and a tee for my toddler. The subtotal was $101.96, so I used the $25 off coupon. I really wanted to buy the rose ringspun tee but it sold out while I was still browsing. Oh well. Hopefully I will like the coral beaded one; I had ordered it once before in dark slate but returned it because it seemed boobtastic on me. I figure if nothing else it is a good wekeend/running around tee.

  27. I am getting a bit annoyed with J.Crew. They used to offer free shipping or extra 20% off sale as a rule for a short period of time (and the trick was to add a coupon code on top) Now that they require these to be codes, you can't combine. I know that they still need to make a bottom line, but we still want to score a good deal for being diligent customers!

    ReplyDelete
  28. jacquelyn: I bet the Rose Ringspun Tee is not really sold out. The reason I say that is all the other new items that showed "in stock" a few hours ago, are suddenly all gone as well. (I seriously doubt $70 sweat pants sold *that* fast;). I'd guess they just pulled the items off until they're ready to take orders for them. So if you really wanted that tee, there's still a very good chance you'll get it. Also, did you notice the price went down to $49.50?

    ReplyDelete
  29. Ignore my previous post sorry JC pulled the new items.

weab: Can you describe your Grosgrain-Bow City Tee Cotton Cardigan" (96956), it sounds interesting?

    ReplyDelete
  30. OT: I just wanted to point out that it's such a shame the way the Simone Jacket (Navy w/rhinestone button 96784) is styled. I think it looks so voluminous and frumpy paired with the full schoolgirl skirt! I thought it also looked terrible in the catalog. However, after seeing it IRL and trying it on, my mind is changed. They really should paired it with something more form-fitting like matchsticks of some sort or even any of the trousers or even any of the pencil skirts.

It's actually so cute and cocktail looking, very Jackie O. It also looks great with jeans. I'm saying all this but haven't bought it because I still don't think it's worth $250. But once it goes on a *hefty* sale, I may have to snatch that baby up!

Sorry so long, just had to get that off my chest! :)

    ReplyDelete
  31. weab, I hope you are right about those new--now gone--items....however, I can't imagine paying $50 or $49.50 for a dry clean t-shirt! Crazy!

    ReplyDelete
  32. casual crew: Sure! I LOVE it! It's just casual cotton city tee material (sort of sweatshirt material). The hem and cuffs are sewn like a sweatshirt too. ($58)

The color code is "CHA". I'm not sure what that is but I'd guess Chalk? It's a honey/wheat shade.

It has rounded glass beads that look almost like a smokey quartz color and are set in brushed metal brass looking prongs, very nice touch. I'm a sucker for special buttons. :)

The grosgrain bows are at the trim of each of the two pockets at the bottom.

They also have it in a slate gray with the similar buttons but the grosgrain is on a different spot, can't remember where exactly but I want to say on one top pocket. They also have one in black with no grosgrain (that I noticed) and a floral applique at the collar.

    HTH!

    ReplyDelete
  33. sorry, meant to say rounded glass "buttons" not "beads" down the front.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Thanks weab it sounds like something that I would be very interested in buying. I hope it shows up on-line.

    ReplyDelete
  35. you know you're in trouble when you get the one with the $150 limit rather than $100 as the crew knows you're higher spending tendency...:) oh well...

    ReplyDelete
  36. I just rec'd the email and I noticed on the bottom that it is not valid on telephone orders. Yikes they are forcing us to use the system!

    ReplyDelete
  37. this is probably a stupid question but is there any way to use the student discount for online orders? also, can you use it over the red phone?

    ReplyDelete
  38. anon: I place the online order, then once it ships (you never know what's going to happen these days) I send an email to contactus@jcrew.com and ask to have that order number adjusted to reflect my student discount. I then get a "refund" of that amount. So far it works well (knock on wood), but I'm scared one day it will just stop!!!

    ReplyDelete
  39. You need a student or educator's email account to get the discount...you can't send the request for the discount from a personal email account.

    ReplyDelete
  40. kater: oh wow! i never knew that! i wonder if this would work on top of the free shipping...?

you guys have all the secrets... this is my new favorite website!

  43. I also got the $150 Autumn code. Seems very haphazard how they dcide between $100 and $150 code....I haven't bought a lot this fall (compared to last year) because their collection so far hasn't grabbed me at all.

  44. Anonymous @ 11.11am: those are the only 2 stores that I know of in Boston that are T accessible. There's one at the Atrium in Chestnut Hill, I just looked at the MBTA map and I think you can get a bus from Kenmore right to the mall, I don't know anything about more about it though.

    ReplyDelete
  45. I used to live in Boston, and the Atrium store was my favorite. definitely worth a bus ride...:) there is also a pretty big anthropologie right next door to the j.crew...

  46. how about on red phone orders? can you use your student discount on those?

    ReplyDelete
  47. I think you can either have an SA come over and verify on the phone that they've seen your student/educator id. I don't bother with that though, and just email the order number in from my school address, and that seems to work for red phone orders just like it does for online.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Emailing from my school address has worked for my last two orders. I haven't tried it yet with a free shipping code...has anyone else?

    ReplyDelete
  49. ^It has worked for me every time but the last time. :(

    ReplyDelete
  50. Yes, it did not work for me getting the student discount when I emailed one time about a week and a half ago....don't know what is going on...I called and got it put on...

    ReplyDelete
  51. melissa-
are you in st louis?? Out store is pretty darn low on merch...there's like nothing exiciting to speak of and no sale left. They need a rollout BAD:)

    ReplyDelete
  52. My store is getting in the October collection on Monday! I'm not sure when it will be online...we usually get ours early and most of the time it comes on the website the week after we get it. From what I've seen, there's a lot of purple...it's all beautiful, so get ready!

    ReplyDelete
  53. Which store do you shop?

    ReplyDelete
  54. To weab re: the Grosgrain-Bow City Tee Cotton Cardigan--did you see this online? or buy @ a B&M? I am very curious about it! SO much cute Crew stuff is too warm for my overly warm office but this sounds like something I could wear.

    ReplyDelete
  55. bethl: It was at my b&m. I tried to search the site for it using the item number but it doesn't seem to be available there yet. The weight is great for warmer climates, very light. The material seems identical to the perfect fit tees. btw, I should mention it seems like it's the "shrunken" style so I went up a size. Oh, and it has long sleeves.

    ReplyDelete
  56. ok, i have to ask... what the heck is B&M??

    ReplyDelete
  57. math teacher, i can't tell if you're being facetious or if that's some local thing

    ReplyDelete
  58. ohh nevermind... i got it.. haha

    ReplyDelete
  59. I'm not being facetious - that's really what b&m stands for.

    ReplyDelete
  60. bethl - saw the city tee cardigan today at my b&m and it is so cute!!! I wish I needed it, but I don't, so I had to leave it behind. It will be a great weight for late summer through spring! I bet those fly out of the stores considering the price and how cute they were!!

I also saw the boatneck city tees in the store.... I really WANTED to like them, but when I tried them on, it looked more like a glorified thin sweatshirt with 3/4 length leaves. Darn - I really thought I was going to love them! They look so cute how the store has them paired with collared shirts and skirts, but on me, no so much. I got a couple of painter tees that were on sale instead!! Anyone have a boatneck city tee and could tell me how they wear/ plan on wearing it? Then I might have to buy one!!!

    ReplyDelete
  61. Lindsey-I have the city tee in eggplant and I love it so much I ordered the honey glaze yesterday. It is very close to a sweatshirt, so I'd get the smallest size you can fit to prevent it from being baggy. On an average day I wear it with my Joe's jeans, which fit real well. I wouldn't wear it with wide leg pants or anything full on bottom. For a more fashionable look in the Fall, I'll wear it with my wool mini and tights

    ReplyDelete
  62. Weab: I almost bought the textured tee and cotton cardigan this past weekend also! So cute. I opted for the last Asrid in sz 6! I will be getting those items on my trip to the mall!

    ReplyDelete
  63. Shannon - thanks! I was loving the 2 colors you mentioned and the sea salt. I'm going to hold out and hope that if I'm flexible on the color, maybe I'll get one on promotional or sale price!! And, you're right about the size - I am going to buy a size down!

    ReplyDelete
  64. Next trip to the mall it should have read:-)

    ReplyDelete
  65. musthavejcrew: Congrats on the Astrid! What color did you get?

btw, smart minds think alike! :) What colors were you considering in the cardi and the tee? I definitely wouldn't wait too long on either of those items since those types of things seem to fly off the shelf, especially at that price point!

    ReplyDelete
  66. I bought the grey astrid! I just LOVE it and can't wait to wear it! Your right, both of those items will sell out. I had black in the cardi and tee...not sure why? I guess I wasn't sure what I would wear under the cream cardi...how are you planning on wearing it?

    ReplyDelete
  67. Anonymous at 8:42 PM & 8:48 PM: Math Teacher is right about what B&M stands for (brick & mortar physical stores). :)

    ReplyDelete
  68. MustHaveJCrew: Congrats on the grey astrid!!! :)

    ReplyDelete
  69. Great choice on the gray! I also got the black tee. I was thinking I'd wear the cardi with the crest-graphic tee in sea salt (97419) or any tank like a purple, plum, green, anything really. I thought the black was cute with the floral detail too but I have so many black cardigans...maybe once it goes on sale...

  70. I've finally got my Peacoat today after much trouble with the order. Double charges, fees, lateness. I like the coat, but the problem is . . . they shipped me two. Now I have to march to the store and return the extra one. Man, I may have one of the most disastrous order from J.Crew to date.

First it's a double charge, then it's the fees. Out comes the delays & finally they were unable to recall one of the coats. I need to lie down . . .
