J.Crew's Fall Collection In Stores This Week!

J.Crew stores should be receiving some (if not all) of the Fall Collection this week. The J.Crew store in Westport, CT had cleared out their shelves on Friday of last week, to make room for the new items this week. I was also told by a store associate at the J.Crew in New Haven, CT that they are suppose to have the "new arrivals" on the floor by this Tuesday.

Therefore, it is safe to assume that all J.Crew stores this week, will be putting out their new "Fall Collection" for sale. :)

Have your local J.Crew stores been clearing out "space" for the new arrivals? Have you already seen some of the new Fall Collection at your stores? Do you think the website will display the new "Fall Collection" despite it still not functioning properly?

  2. Hdayton: That jacket is beautiful!!! I just love the detailing it has. Please let us know what they are like when you get them. :)

  3. Alexis: The CS rep called them berries.

  4. I sure hope the website updates w/ new fall stuff! It really should at at this point, and I hope it doesn't break down again when it happens. It's been MORE than enough time to get that thing running smoothly!

  5. very cool jacket, what's the material? It almost looks like a sweater from the picture. how much? a small fortune?

  6. ps. hdayton, make sure you get the gloves to match, lol

  7. The Astrid jacket is in the latest People Style Watch magazine. The magazine listed the price, but I don't have it with me.

  8. Hdayton: Well I love the berries! Absolutely beautiful. Although I am sure this jacket is "dry clean" only. ;)

Anonymous at 1:17PM: I hope the website gets updated too. Its so boring at this point to see the same stuff over and over again.

Caw: I thought it was a sweater too at first. :) But if you look at the larger image of it, it has a lot more weight to it (like a jacket.)

  9. omigod. I have loved that jacket since those photos came out! I too thought it was a sweater, not a jacket. And what color is it shown in here, because it doesn't look like heather gray or plum...

if anyone knows the price on it, please let me know! I NEED this jacket!!! :)

  10. My store says the Fall collection will be on the floor this Wednesday. It's sitting in the back room, and the store director just called to say she can let me take a peek if I want. What should I do???

    ReplyDelete
  11. 285? yikes. Thanks vivian! Do you know anything more about the colors? Does it come in that pretty blue like the picture shows?

sorry for all the questions, I just don't have a catalog yet... :(

As to taking a peek - go for it! I totally would!

  12. I have the catalog and stylebook here if anyone needs to know about prices and item details.

  13. I have the People Stylewatch for August and it lists the jacket for $248, it doesn't list name - just a description (Cotton and washed-wool blend berry-trimed jacket) it gives the 800 number so I guess you could call and see if it's available to order.

  14. vivian: Yes, go take a look. Let us know what you think (and what you bought). My store won't have theirs out until Friday and I may not get down there until next week.

  15. I think J.Crew is taking pre-orders for the Astrid jacket and other items. My store director says she can do it for any item in the stylebook.

The stylebook pricing guide shows the Astrid is priced at $285. Item number is 96281.

  16. math teacher: Errrm, I dare not go because I'm afraid I will buy the entire Fall collection.

    ReplyDelete
  17. vivian: You're going to go eventually, right? Just have a pre-planned amount of what you can spend and hold firm! I just really cannot pay full price for J Crew items (even 15% off isn't enough for me) so I want to try on so that I know what size I need when it does go on sale. At least, that's my plan. I may love the tartine sweater so much that I walk out with one. :)

    ReplyDelete
  18. math teacher: You're right. I will go!

I've already made a list of what to buy full-price, and yes it includes the tartine cardigan.

But at least I'm now open about the belle skirt. In the catalog, the texture and seams look rough and little less refined that what I thought I'd wear it with. And I don't like the Andrea jacket - so that helps!!

  19. aw man...do you guys think I should preorder astrid? do you think it will sell out? First, I really don't have 285 bucks right now, and second, I completely don't trust j.crew's system! who even knows what they would do to preorders considering what they've done to regular ones....

vivian - does the style book say when the astrid is expected to be available? I know sometimes they do that...

    I'm so torn...

  20. Loved last years Bella jacket and bought a few colors...also have MANY of their jackets from spring/summer or 2006, 2007and 2008. Not liking this Astrid at all. Anybody else (a bit afraid?) willing to admit their difference of opinion...
Can you imagine them launching new things with their crappy new system? What a mess things are going to be with orders....not willing to risk it...those of you with a store nearby are lucky:)

    ReplyDelete
  21. kater: Good point!

For the Astrid, I don't see any expected availability date in the stylebook and stylist. There's a bunch of notations next to each item but I don't know what they mean. The Astrid has PC. The Lulu peep toes (the one with the big bow) has L. The single strand ladybug necklace says J.

Maybe these means which items are offered in which locations?

    ReplyDelete
  22. Vivian: the belle skirt is great. I have it in the gray, I think it is called fog. It would be great for day or evening.

Kater: I have no idea when the Astrid will be shipped. I ordered it in my B&M about 2 weeks ago.

    ReplyDelete
  23. anon @ 2:08: I'm not crazy about the astrid jacket, either. That's why there are different jackets - imagine if everyone wanted the same thing! :)

vivian: let us know what you buy and what you think, especially of the tartine. :)

    ReplyDelete
  24. hdayton: Glad that you like the Belle skirt! That's one item I need to see and try in the store before I make up my mind. The dark fog is such a pretty color!

  25. math teacher: You can count me out on the Astrid and Andrea. At the moment, I'm eyeing the Ecole and maybe the Simone and Soiree jackets (can't tell very well from the catalog; need to try them on). I did try the stretch vintage-cord peplum jacket on Saturday in the store. Will have to retry.

  26. Hi Math Teacher,
you mentioned JJill and a jacket there on anothe post---I love JJill (not as much as I USED to love JCrew but it makes up the other percent of my wardrobe and will probably take over more of my fall purchases this year) JJill has great sales, quality, etc. and with their credit card you alway get a % off your purchase plus a birthday MONTH discount good all month. I love JJill tops and skirts. Their pants don't fit me but WOW! to some of their unique pieces.

    ReplyDelete
  27. The Ecole I concede is a little blah compared to the Bella. But if the cut is as flattering, I'll take it.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Anyone have any other pictures of the jackets they are talking about? Would love to see them:)

Won't be able to get to a store until around July 30...

  29. I added this to another thread as well but just thought I'd update to a more recent one...

I know theres a lot of disappointment right now with Jcrew but I just wanted to share a good experiance. Last week, someone from Jcrew called and left a msg that they were having shipping problems with Canadian orders, and therefore there is no ETA for the orders I had placed. The msg didn't reference a specific order number and I was worried b/c some of the items I had ordered (I had multiple orders o/s) were needed for an upcoming business trip (I'm leaving Saturday) and I had counted on the 4-7 business days standard delivery. The CS rep I spoke to consulted with the "Just Ask" department who approved complimentary expedited shipping to Canada using Fedex overnight which is NOT a service Jcrew normally offers. It did take a while on hold though (about an hour - hour and a half) while the CSR talked to distribution, confirmed the order numbers etc but it was worth it b/c I received my package today!!!!

Also, part of my order was the Super 120s Sleevless Suiting Dress which I have to say, I absolutely love! Partly b/c Hexicon was kind enough to share sizing information, so I sized up (normally wear a 12 in button downs, 10 in normal shirts and a 10 in pants, but I sized up to a 14 for this dress since hips are my trouble spot and hexicon was nice enough to advise that the hips on this dress are cut very close to the body). It fits almost as if its been custom made to my body! The shoulders, bust everything is just perfect. A *tad* shorter than I would like (hits at the knee, I prefer wearing it slightly below the kneecap) and mine had no slit (I think Hexicon had a slit problem, mine just has a back pleat but no slit - does that make sense)? The neckline is very flattering and i absolutely LOVE the wide waistband. Just slims me out so well! So I would definetly recommend it!!!!! And for $37, what a great deal! I ended up getting it in all 4 colours. A bit excessive, I know but I got such a good deal and I know I can get a lot of wear out of these (I work for an accounting firm so these are perfect)

Also I did purchase them in the bright azul and I love the colour, its not as bright as online. Looks great with a camel coloured sweater blazer / blazer on top!

  30. vivian: I like the look of the Simone as well, but can't find the Soiree (I only have the catalog). I like the way the Jacinda looks too, but would need to try it on. Since I'm short, it might not work.

anon @ 2:16: I have a $25 off $75 card for JJill that I will probably use to get the jacket. Only, it's not $75 so I'll have to find a little something to go from $69 to $75. :) I liked a lot of what I saw in the store, but fell hard for the jacket!

    ReplyDelete
  31. math teacher: The soiree is in the catalog, opp page of the Simone. P.45.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Vivian,
You are so fortunate - go and look and come back and tell us all about it. It sounds like a fabulous opportunity.

I thought the fall stuff was supposed to be out tomorrow, and now I hear later in the week. Grrr! I don't want to have to wait any more :-)

    ReplyDelete
  33. vivian: I guess I looked to quickly becaue I thought they were the same jacket. Now that I look again, how could I have thought that?! I do like them both, maybe the Simone a little better just because I don't know about the way the "double-breasted" would lay on the Soiree.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Vivian,
I'm interested in a green tweed skirt there is in the catalogue - can you provide any details on it?
    thanks!

  35. oops, "to" should be "too" Good thing I'm a math teacher and not an English teacher! :)

    ReplyDelete
  36. Vivian: That is awesome that they called you to let you know that you could take a peek at the new stuff! :)

Kater: I find that if you just wait a couple of months, you can get the item you want for at least half the price. It all depends on how much you want the Astrid Jacket. :) (By the way, I totally love the jacket- it is beautiful!)

Aisha: Congrats on the Super 120s Sleevless Suiting Dress! :)

    ReplyDelete
  37. I love the Astrid as well... I don't know if I'd be gutsy enough to actually wear it though!

Kater- I would recommend seeing it in person first and then deciding from there. A lot of times, the gorgeous statement pieces like the Astrid sell out before they ever go on sale. In the past, I have been dying for a full-price item that was more than I should spend, and once I tried it on in the store, I didn't love it as much as I thought I did! Just my thoughts though :-)

    ReplyDelete
  38. BTW, I really like the gloves that go with the picture for this blog - I love gloves in general, long and short. They just add such panache to an outfit.

    ReplyDelete
  39. vivian: YES GO LOOK!!!! You are SO LUCKY! :)

I'm not sure if my store has the Fall Collection in or not...they are supposed to be getting it this week, at least that's what the manager said 2 weeks ago. I'll have to call...wish the catalog would at least come...I am also bored with looking at the items available now...at this point they should have the majority of it marked way, way down, and give a free shipping code to get the last of it out.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Is the Astrid the jacket or sweater that is pictured with this blog?

    ReplyDelete
  41. Just called my store in Orlando, and the new Fall Merchandise will be on the floor this Thursday...not sure if I'll be able to make it there, but the Manager said the catalogs should arrive through the mail by Friday...YAY! :)

  42. That jacket is very beautiful, but it's hard to tell from the picture how it would look on a person. To me, at least from the pic, it has a very vintagy feel to it (which I love, by the way, but sometimes not on me) especially with the long gloves. I wouldn't want it to make me look fussy-old-ladyish--much prefer ladylike. Even if it looked nice, the price could be a deal-breaker! Yikes! Not on in my teacher's salary budget, that's for sure!

  43. math teacher, Look at their accessories: scarves, belts, their socks/tights are awesome:)

    ReplyDelete
  44. Just back from the b&m at Easton Town Center and at Polaris (Columbus, OH) - the sale sections have been noticeably stripped down (with maybe a rack or two left). Good news for the website sale section, yes? Oh, and they're already breaking out the fall merchandise here too - slub v-neck tees in a whole range of colors and the cutest cord navy jacket (I don't have the new catalog yet so I have no idea the name, but it's adorable!)

    ReplyDelete
  45. I also saw the fall catalog. I like the fact that some of their new beautiful sweaters are affordable. For example, Tartine cardigan and crewneck at $88 and $78 respectively, with double ruffles on the collar and the bottom (the top one of the double ruffles is merino wool, the second and longer one is silk chiffon) are beautiful. On the other hand the new uptown totes (in fall colors) are listed at $245.

    ReplyDelete
  46. ratsonparade, I bought that navy cord jacket last week. It's called the Louisa jacket, and is also available in a camel color I think. Pretty well priced at $118.

  47. Look at this top
It appears the fall line items are creeping into the pictures.

  49. Vivian: you lucky B----!!! GOOOO yes, go look. OMG lucky you!

    ReplyDelete
  50. as far as the jacket goes. It would never look good closed and in my opinion there is way too much ruffleage (i am making that a word as of right now. its a mix btwn ruffage and ruffles) going on for my taste. I say its a pass. The ruffle shirts doing even look that good on. that just has way too much going on. Great color though

  51. Aisha--
Re super 120s, you are right--it's not a slit, it's a pleat. I am so much happier! It was stitched closed for shipping so I assumed it was a slit. My happiness with the dress just increased substantially! And my J.Crew account STILL has not been credited even though the CSRs insist that the credit should show up any day now.

I love long gloves but I think they look really creepy in the photo! I need a pair of long gloves because I got the Agnes(?) retro car coat from last year, and it has bracelet-length sleeves.

  52. Did anyone see what the Fall jewelry collection will be? I'm curious if they're continuing the double strand beaded necklace style..

    ReplyDelete
  53. Hi webbysuzy. I didn't see any double strand necklaces in the new catalog. They have single strand ones and models wear two (or more) of them at the time. They have the lemon drop lady bug one for $118 and a single strand greanish-yellowish one with barrel-shape see-through beeds and a bee clasp. The bee one costs $98 and both of them are pretty. They look especially atractive together on a model wearing honey glaze cashmere turtleneck.

    ReplyDelete
  54. That jacket and color doesn't do it for me...I'll pass...

    ReplyDelete
  55. Another piece that striked me is the Acorn charm necklace. It reminds me of the locket necklace. It is long with dark maple acorns sccatered along a bigger (not longer) chain. It is lovely but I am not too sure about it.

    ReplyDelete
  56. sky: J Crew had an Pave Acorn Pendant/Necklace last fall/winter. Wish they could come up with new motifs.

I'm sure both of the "bugs" of critter bead necklaces are cute, especially the bee with barrel shaped beads, but it would really be nice if J Crew can use another color other than yellows or bright greens. When I purchase jewelry, I want to be able to wear it for all four seasons.

  57. New Fall Items are at the NYC Rockefeller Store---saw it in the window this morning!

    ReplyDelete
  58. I will agree with some of the others... I am not a fan of that jacket. I like ruffles a lot but this is just too busy for me.

I am already on the lookout on EBay for Bella jackets. I'm moving to a business casual atmosphere and don't need to wear suits everyday. But I love jackets.

    ReplyDelete
  59. FFM - do you wear the tulip jacket buttoned or unbuttoned? I'm just not sure what looks better...to be honest while I love the San Telmo I'm just ok about the tulip...I've listed it on the weekly exchange post if anyone is interested, size 8 in flax, willing to sell for $30, if interested please contact me at as01bc@hotmail.com

    ReplyDelete
  60. a: I have left the Tulip unbuttoned when I wore it...I actually paired the Bright Flame Tulip with my Ivory Suzannah Cami and Dark Denim GAP Essential Jeans...it looked really pretty, and I received a TON of compliments...the jacket is so feminine...I just love it! :)

  61. I'm sorry rach, but whenever I try the link it closes all of my windows, a problem I've been having with J.Crew lately. The jacket I have has five buttons down the front, pockets, a modified swing silhouette, and is fully lined with a striped cotton. HTH

  62. I have the Astrid Jacket as Item # 96309 with a Price of $248. This is out of the look book. First time on the site. Glad to know there are others like me. I am actually looking really forward to the acorn necklace. I buy a lot of jewelry from J. Crew and take it to the local jewler and get it shortened/modified to better fit with my style. This is very cheap to do and makes the longer necklaces much more functional. Just got off of the phone with J. Crew. They will have new fall available online by the 26th for order.
