Sought & Found: Did you visit J.Creaw this {past} Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopped by a J.Crew store this past weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store was/ is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

  2. I remembered last year that the Good Friday (ish) promo was the best sale pre Christmas, and the promos since prove it.
    Who among us will actually pay 20 or so percent more for items that last week for 40+ percent off? And no %off sale stuff? And what are they waiting for with the rest of the holiday releases? Holiday parties have been going on for two weekends already, lots of missed opportunities there.

Agreed - and if you're one of those people whose Black Friday/Cyber Monday orders hasn't yet shipped (or just shipped), do you want to risk ordering a new holiday release next week when the rest of them are supposed to roll out? I wonder if they're going to be left with a lot of holiday inventory on December 26th because they weren't able to fulfill the orders in time.

    2. I agree with all of what I've read.
      My order from 11/24 has yet to ship. It is still placed and in progress with a delivery date of on or before 12/05. When I called yesterday CS said "yes, looks good and you will have it by Tuesday." Hmmmm...
      I really just can't spend money on more items until I see what I'm keeping.

    3. The metallic sequin tee is backordered until 12/26. Yes, I want my holiday top the day AFTER Christmas. Maybe it will arrive in time for NYE? :)

    4. CS ...has told me that the lace /pleated front top....that was waitlisted will be given upgraded shipping to get it to me before xmas....hmmmm

    5. Agreed. Nothing else I need to buy right now until all my week of Black Friday orders have been received and I know what I am keeping. Nothing is really calling to me anyway. It is frustrating not to have holidays items to wear for the holiday parties I wanted them for. They have way too many issues this year. Here's hoping some are fixed in 2018.

    6. Have yet to receive a single item from the 3 orders I placed around Thanksgiving. Going on 10-12 days. Other places like target.com obviously really beefed up their holiday workforce and I received an order 48hours after I placed it.

    7. Just got a shipment notification for a thanksgiving order. What’s confusing is that the items were all old items except the pleated lace top. The 2 penny tops were old items. They are clearly struggling with fulfilling orders. Doesn’t bode well...

    9. Stopped in @ lunch. Stores are doing 30% off purchase, including sale. If you use J Crew card, you can stack 20% off.

    12. Yep....my big complaint when I called customer service was that I wouldn't get my holiday clothing order until after my parties/events had actually started. Add in that my store didn't even get any holiday clothing and I was shaking my head in amazement. And they can't figure out why their sales are dropping??? Finally received the tartan maxi yesterday....I was suppose to get it on Friday, so another weekend I couldn't wear it to a function. Makes me mad.

  4. There are some new items on Nordstrom including a sweater with feather cuffs and this star pouch. OMG.

    They are also re-releasing (?) the cable pompom sweater from last year in red and navy. Did anybody order the Gayle sweater this year from Nordstrom and confirm if it was retail or Factory/Mercantile? I don't understand why repeats from last year are just showing up at Nordstrom.

    2. I'm doubting that Nordstrom would carry Mercantile. Doesn't fit with their image.
      That feather sweater would have been promising if it didn't have dropped shoulders and it wasn't cropped. I would have bought it with normal shoulders/length.

    3. I haven't ordered the Gayle sweater, but am interested, and was too confused / concerned that it might be the Factory version. However, it looks as though the 2016 J. Crew Gayle and Nordstrom Gayle are the same fabrication. Factory version indicates a component of cotton, but the other 2 sweaters do not. Also, the Nordstrom Gayle has reviews going back to last year, which makes me lean toward thinking this is a re-release?

  5. I just got a cancelation notice for my order on the 27th. It was just a supersoft v neck sweater, nothing special or hard to find. My store had them in my size the day before I ordered. Still a bit frustrating. J Crew just doesn't have its act together this year.

    1. I think this is the item I tried to order but cancel due to waitlisted. it is no longer on the Canadian site but is on the US site. Borderfree some how can't access it ....this is what CS at J Crew told me...

    2. .... colors were heather carmel and heather carbon. it was V-neck front pocket tunic in supersoft yarn
      item H5830 I am hoping some JCAs receive it and can comment. I would like to hear if maybe I should try again. but if it isn't on the Can. site only US site something must be up?

    5. Review of the v-neck tunic - it is super soft. If you have the Kent cardigan from Madewell, it is the exact same composition. Which means it will pill. Like crazy.

      That aside, I like the fit of the tunic. It is slightly oversized on me in my normal size and I could have sized down. However, I don't mind the slightly oversized look. The sleeves are a bit long, but I prefer to push my sleeves up so it doesn't bother me.

      Overall, I think it's a nice sweater, but only worth the price if on sale. Definitely not a must have. I was able to score it for quite a steal, so I will keep it. It's a nice comfy, I ate too many tacos sweater.

  6. WTH... checking the US for above item...looks like US customers are getting the five days of new promos. Can site we are stuck with 25% full priced items all week. our site is 30-35% more already because of the dollar...so doing the math....this is a huge pass . poor promo for us Canucks.

    2. I just change country I am shipping to (at the bottom of the home page) from Canada to US . Canadian site has prices in can $. there is usually a few more items on the US that Canada doesn't have.\
      so if you go to the US ....you see the US promo and all items in US $. this is where I saw the five days of promos.
      I was looking for the vee neck sweater not avaialble on the Can site.

    3. Sometimes there are sizes/colour s available on the US site that are sold out on the CAN site. I always attributed it to items being available in stores vs the warehouse. It’s the same for BR, Gap, etc., so sometimes I check both if there’s something I really want and have an upcoming US trip.

    4. My understanding is the same as yours, shopgrrrl. Since orders to Canada all originate from the US warehouse (as opposed to US orders which combine store and warehouse), if an item is OOS on the Canadian website, it's OOS in the warehouse. It it's a MUST have item and only available in the US, I will ship to the US (I have a mailbox service there) and drive down and pick it up. For people who live too far from the border, you could always use a US parcel forwarding service, but it definitely adds up!

  8. I ordered the star printed crepe pants during the 40% sale--too cheap to pass up! MY order shipped quickly, much to my surprise, but now I have to figure out what to wear with them. I'm stumped so far--anyone have ideas?

    I also ordered this years plaid shirt jacket since it came in talls. I'm not sure how it qualifies as a jacket, since I live in the Midwest and it is already too cold for it to be worn alone. Regardless, it's going back. Far too 'woodsy' for my taste! The fit is a little slim as well.

    1. I've seen a few jcas wearing those pants on IG. so cute but I WASNT SURE HOW I'd wear them either so I passed. I'll see if I can find the pics. For me, I'd wear with a black sweater, maybe with a white button down, or dressed up with a black sleeveless top or tuxedo top and blazer. I hope they work for you. I love Stars and love black and white so I may need to stalk for a popback.

  10. Received the $25 “Nice List” gift card in the mail today. I don’t understand the rhyme or reason behind who gets these promotions, but I do appreciate being included.

    Given all the delays and order fulfillment problems, I’m afraid to order anything I might need before the holidays, in case it doesn’t arrive or is too much of a disappointment. I’m anxious to hear reviews on the items other JCAs are waiting for.

    1. I got this today too and I have of yet to use the $50 card I got a week ago. I am confused as to why I got two cards in a week totaling $75. Not complaining, just wondering how this is decided? Interested to see the what the weeks promos bring. Fingers crossed for a sale update and extra % off!

  11. copy of the email I just sent to J Crew...
    Hi....why is the American site having the five days of promos and the Canadian site is only having one promo of 25% off full price all week long.
    2 weeks ago we had the 40% plus an extra 10% off. why would I order anything with this promo? also sale section languishing with no additional % off. Alot of items I wanted are wait listed?

  12. I just left a store and they were offering 30% off, including sale items. Their is so much summer stuff in the sale section! It just looks sad.

  13. Came back to say J Crew isn’t the only one struggling with shipping. A BF order I placed at Gap of jeans for my oldest daughter hasn’t shipped and I just got an email to say I’ll receive it Dec. 13th. 2.5 weeks after placing the order. Yikes!
