This is the weekly "Other JCrew-like Retailers" post (similar to the "Off On A Tangent"
posts), where we can share our finds from other
retailers that have offerings similar to J.Crew
(like Anthropologie, LE Canvas, Gap, BR, Talbots, Ann
Taylor, and the like.)
If you
have recently encountered items that are similar to
J.Crew, maybe you might be
willing to share that information with us
in this post.
Please feel
free to share your story on almost any topic—
including experiences with certain merchandise pieces,
promotions/ offers, in-store visits,
transactions with store associates, etc.
Boden has their preview site up for spring items. It’s fun to see what’s in store, especially when you’re dreaming of warmer weather! Currently 20 below where I live. I never buy from the preview but like to look: bodenpreview.com
ReplyDeleteI haven't shopped at Ann Taylor in ages, but there is a very pretty faux fur stole online. Has anyone seen it in person? It's black with what looks like a STRIPE of olive green and either red, coral or bright pink at the ends, but I can't tell what color it is!
ReplyDeleteAnswering my own question in case anyone was curious, it's a bright hot pink.
DeleteReceived a GAP email today with a photo of a long bomber with embroidery on the back... and a promise that the jacket will sell out. It’s absolutely not my style and I honestly can’t see how it will sell out. Clearly I am no longer the demographic these companies are targeting... and I’m young!! Where are the clothes companies for the young working professional?
ReplyDeleteAnthro has been doing really well with similar pieces to this (their embroidered field jackets in khaki and denim were huge temptations for me), and they do sell out, so perhaps Gap is trying to steal some of that crowd? But I agree, for me personally, that coat is not of interest. I still buy Gap basics (merino and cotton sweaters, jeans), but whenever they send a "work" wardrobe suggestion, I just shake my head and move on.
