  1. Wow, so thrilled with my latest eBay treasures! Made in Italy gold Ceces, so soft! And an amazing short-sleeve cotton jacket from 2009, in a classic navy/gold/orange pattern that will look great with everything from jeans to dresses. I hope to find more of these classic pieces.

    1. Oooh, I love to hear about Old School 'Crew finds! This fall, I realized that I didn't have a navy peacoat in my collection and started researching the Majesty peacoat... but there were a lot of reviews of the buttons falling off and some models had issues with pocket placement.

I found a JC navy wool peacoat from 2004 (!) on eBay, and wow, it looks brand new. Classic double-breasted cut with real brass buttons, slash pockets that you can actually put your hands in and an apple-green lining with detachable quilted vest.

    2. You're having better luck than I am. Had to return one dry clean only silk blouse that seemed to have been put through the washing machine's gentle cycle, and another blouse with brown underarm stains. Disappointed, as I really wanted both items :-(

    3. I'm sorry to hear that, JenniferD! I've had my share of disappointments too, most recently a red double-cloth Madeline coat that arrived smelling musty. I've been trying to get the smell out. I can see how blouses would be tough. And wool sweaters, too - there are so many shrunken sweaters that have obviously been put in a washer and dryer. It's sad! Hang in there - it's amazing the amount of older NWT items that pop up.

    4. Yes, there are treasures to be found, and it's also a downer to get one of those "did I really need to ask?" items that smell funky, have been inappropriately laundered, or are actually J.Crew Factory. Agree that looking out for NWT items are a better, though not infallible, bet.

    5. Love eBay and poshmark! Still on the hunt for the chandelier sweatshirt. My bad experiences have been few, I did have one this week. Although not jcrew, I’m still frustrated. Ordered a Kate Spade top. It was a size smaller than listed and reeked of perfume. Luckily it fits but annoyed that I have to dry clean a new with tags top. How does one’s perfume permeate a top so deeply I could smell it through the box? Weird.

    1. I am selling some J crew on Poshmark. Some size 27 Toothpick jeans and some shirts. If you are interested I can provide my user name so you can check the stuff out.

  3. I'm loving J Crew CS reps. They were able to honor 40% off my sale purchase as well as my $25 off code. I was able to get a cashmere sweater I really wanted. She gave me free shipping as well. Now I hope it actually ships.

I was frustrated that JC doesn't have a % off sale on the website, so very thankful JCA mentioned they were able to call CS to honor store prices. It would be simpler if they just had the % off sale, but sending love to those CS reps and the JCA who posted about this.

    1. Glad that worked for you! I am PA'ing like crazy. Got the navy blue plaid puffer vest on popback yesterday morning and just called for the PA. Final price was $45.79 shipped (it had already shipped when I called).

  4. I had a similar experience where I bought the Martie Blackwatch pants at 40% right after Thanksgiving when it was taking forever to ship out orders. I was worried that they would not fit and they were selling out fast so I reordered a 2nd size but not on sale. I ended up keeping the pair that I did not get on sale so I emailed CS and they responded right away and gave me a price adjustment for the 40% discount.

  5. I recently bought the Madewell x no.6 silk beacon dress in garden bouquet, and the next day it went on sale. I emailed CS and they were prompt in crediting my PA. I know that's what is supposed to happen, but I always appreciate the response.

I'm also happy that even though I don't need/won't get the items shipped in time, there are still sales. Just bought some tights and socks from Madwell/JCrew Factory for a good price.

  6. Cs was great! They honored the 40% off sale that stores have and are overnighting my item for free. On the flipside, I reveived 2 orders, factory and madewell and both were defective so it's a frustrating love with me and the 'crew 😂

    1. I know this is the love thread but what is the point of not offering the same percent off sale online that is offered in store? Especially if they are going to honor it if you contact them. It is an extra step and more work for both the customer and their CS employees. Personally because of the extra step and because there is nothing that interests me I am not even bothering to look.

    2. hmmm. i was told no. plain and simple. so why yes to some and no to others

    3. @Unknown, occasionally via email and almost always by phone I have been denied as well. I don't always know why, but sometimes it is because my local store does not normally stock the item I'm buying, so I've been told the price match doesn't apply. Other times it's just a mystery.

  7. I just received the Cropped Sequin Top in Rose Gold and I have to say I love it! It looks very dressy but I tried it on with high waist black toothpick jeans and it looked cute for just a casual night out. I was wondering what anyone else thought about this top if they also have it.

    1. I won't purchase, but I like the look of it, especially in the sleeves.

    2. I love the color but I don't think the shape or the sleeves would flatter me.

    3. I ordered it in the tall size since that was all that was left. I loved the length, but the thing was too wide in the body and I hated that part. It was nicely constructed though, loved the color and the ties in the back, I'm just over this entire boxy look that J.Crew seems to be perpetuating.

  8. I had a great experience at my local jcrew with returns. The SA taking my returns was pleasant and friendly. Apparently now if you use a rewards card and return the item they will refund it to your MasterCard, which I thought was pretty nice. She also gave me a 15% off card with code to use from now until the end of January.

    1. I returned an item I used a rewards on and I got a gift card back. It was emailed to me pretty quickly so no complaints. Surprised they returned it to your credit card tho.

    2. I was surprised as well. I was expecting a gift card back, which I would have been totally fine with!

  9. Scored the Tweed Avery's on Sale. Yay! They are a love. I was surprised by the interwoven sparkle, bit I'm okay with it.

  10. Had a great experience with an online rep who agreed to give me the 40% discount on an item that was supposed to be excluded from the sale. It appeared with the discount in my cart so she agreed to give it to me. Good CS like that keeps me coming back.
