JCA "Help Style Me!" Weekly Post

This is the weekly "Help Style Me!" post, where we can share items we are having trouble putting outfits together with. Elaine (in this post) says it best, "You know, that thing you bought because you love it and you keep pulling it out and then putting it away without wearing it?"

Please share your J.Crew item (either that you own or are thinking about getting) that you would love help creating an outfit with.

Also, please help out by offering your styling advice. Feel free to include links to your blog (where you incorporated that piece) or to Polyvore (where you showcased an outfit with that piece). Thanks in advance! :)

    1. I saw that and the matching pants. It will take some convincing for me not to think it's ugly.

Not only is it ugly, it's two sizes too big on the model, unless the way I wore my blazers in 1985 is coming back.

    2. oh...my...
the floral jacquard is also issued as a jumpsuit. H9702. Is this another example of the crew having a ton of one fabric they want to use up? No thank you for the viscose (rayon) poly blend!

    3. ^ posted above. I saw the jacket and pull on pants a few days ago. Fugly comes to mind. Maybe it's me.

    4. It is not you. It looks like oversized bad curtains. The fabric choice is poor as well.

  3. Got the double V-neck featherweight cashmere sweater (G4950) in periwinkle a year ago, and have only worn it once. It runs big, which I thought I liked until that single time I wore it out and the v turned out to be huge. Thank goodness for the bra keeps, otherwise I would have slid out of this sweater at work. What do I wear with this?? I got it for work, and I cannot wear jeans or leggings.

  4. Printed silk dress (H9700) also looks very Madewell-esque. Looks quite short.

    1. I like it! I agree, very Madewell.
Alas, I am too old for that dress.

    2. Adorable. But 34" is really short— I wear 16" mini skirts, so I'm not afraid to show some leg. Some stuff looks so old lady and some looks so young. Where are the classics with a twist?

  5. It seems that “tie front” is the new “off the shoulder.” Every other new shirt it tie front!

    1. Hi HollDoll - I agree, and like the OTS find the tie front too limiting. How many of this style can one person own?
