Sought & Found: Did you visit J.Crew this {past} Weekend?

This is the weekly "sale watch" post, to help each other find sale items at our various local J.Crew stores. ;)

If you are stopped by a J.Crew store this past weekend to see what's available (if anything!) in the SALE, or to see some NEW ARRIVALS {sigh!} in person, maybe you might be willing to share that with us in this post. In particular, if you could share with us a few of the noteworthy items that are available, at what prices, and potential sizes the store is carrying (as well as the store location)- that would be fantastic!

Also, please let us know if your local store was/ is carrying an additional percent off sale. Thanks in advance!!! :)

    4. Thanks Mygoddy!!!

can you give me some pricing info for some of the items?

1- The pic with all the button down shirts... towards the bottom, there's a french blue one with pink/red piping

2- Party PJs pic (PJ top with skirt with squares) pricing for both the top and skirt... and is that navy or black?

      thanks in advance... :D

    5. Thank you, Mygoddy! Very excited, even though some items seem a bit repetitive I appreciate that tartan/plaid etc. are holiday classics and probably hard to do without some repetition. Either way, I love the scenery and was excited to see it's Canada (hopefully we'll finally get a style guide after months without one here)! The shoot seems like old Jcrew and overall is making me feel festive.
I think the Pompom sadies are cute and even though I don't need more plaid shirts I'll probably get suckered into one.

    6. Thanks Mygoddy! I liked the previous catalog better but it's always great to see the new one. Seems like an overload of stripes and plaid. I love plaid but JCrew offered more interesting or unpredictable plaids a few years ago. I hope I can afford something in the acid rose print. That reminds me of the JCrew I love. Of course that pattern is only available in Collection items.

    8. Thank you, mygoddy! I always love the holiday style guides - make me feel festive.

I like the Black Watch items - a traditional plaid in some of J Crews iconic styles. I always seem to have room in my closet for one this time of year.

I agree there are a lot of "reruns" but I mind that less at holiday. It does seems that the Excursion Vest and Chateau Parka have run their course though ... How many of those does one need after many seasons?

Wishlisting the Collection floral bag and the pink cashmere turtleneck. And I will pick something in Black Watch - want to see them IRL.

  2. Thanks for posting! Always nice to get a sneak peak from a helpful JCA!

There's a few things I liked (windowpane chateau parka, some of the shoes), but a lot feels like retreads. Maybe I'll feel differently when I see it in person.

  3. Thanks to Suz has, MyGoddy & Carol who pointed out how to get your holiday rewards card number online. I have not purchased anything from Jcrew for two months other than using my fall rewards and I placed an order this morning for a few things.

    2. I second the thank you! This is a move in the right direction. It is sad that we had to find out through JCA's. J. Crew in combo w/ Comenity should have communicated this to cardholders somehow. I also noticed the Rewards are good through 1/31/17. The extended time period is a nice change as well.

  4. Thoughts on the Pajama jumpsuit....along with the other PJ items. I will not be wearing it out of the house. I just can't pull it off.
-surprised at some of the lower price points
-dresses with no sleeves....better buy a cashmere sweater to go with it. Wish there had been more dresses ...and sleeves !
-not many crazy pants lately. the hounstooth is tame compared to print of a few years ago. I guess the Drake($$$) prints were big sellers.Again I was not a fan of the Drake but still would like to see some more printed pants.
-remake of the lace midi skirt and the lace pants. I purcased
the pants last year ...on sale.. but returned because I ended up never wearing them. the were nice....I think I paid about $40 for them last year ...on sale in Dec.
-a long pair of tie waist rousers...yes!
-jewelery. unexciting as wellas bags...more small envelope style pouches. wonder if the currrent ones (smaller will go on promo when the new ones are release...my store has tons of them still)
-the holly sweater is back..I purchased one at the end of the season last year for $15. still in the bag...anyone have comments on pilling or quality form last year? certainly the colors are nice.
Canada is just as pretty in person. Carolyn from Vancouver.
P.S anyone else have any comments or thoughts?

    1. I adore the Holly sweaters. Got several of them on deep sale last year. They are 100% wool and I didn't have any pilling issues, wearing in heavy rotation. I wash my wool on gentle in cold water and air dry. I did find that after numerous washings, knit tightens up a bit and sizing is smaller. This is typical (and I probably should be kinder to my sweaters!), but I planned for this in sizing, and the difference is noticeable only to me.

    2. so glad to hear...thanks. Carolyn from Vancouver

    3. Hi Carolyn, I really liked the holly sweater last year but it was too short for my liking (5'7") so I had to pass. It was so tempting especially when they hit sale.
I too was surprised and happy about some of the lower price points.

    4. I agree!
I live in Northern Illinois, and I need dresses for fall and winter with at least a short sleeve! Wearing a sleeveless dress after September or maybe October just looks silly here.

  5. Thanks for the sneak peak MyGoddy. I agree that a lot of things seems to be repeats of sorts but I am sure I will get sucked into a few things. Love the bow cardi/ shell set but already have sequin bow cardi from a few years ago. Same with fair isle sweaters. Cute colors but can't justify another. I would try the lace pants. Carolyn like you I bought but never wore last years version. I had to size down to get a good fit in the waist/ butt but then they seemed too short and tight on my legs/calves. Like the houndstooth pants too. The dress version is cute but looks short and to be a cut that is not flattering to my shape. Love the plaid shoes. Need to pick the style I like best.

    1. I also got the black lace pants and then returned them. I realize I'm in gym clothes or jeans 95% of the time. I did love the concept and have seen them styled really nicely.

  6. Thanks Mygoddy for the pics!!! I have had a Paris tee on order since August 15th so I was a bit miffed when I saw that the stores have been replenished but my shirt still hasn't shipped. I called and canceled the order and I will pick one up in store.

  7. Ina has tryon pics of the "pj" style pants and the lace peplum top on her IG. Love the lace peplum but wish it came in tall as I think it will be too short on me.

OT just received the Avery heels in Tweed from my mailman, so beautiful and TTS for me but the insole is lifting up in one which worries me. I was lucky to catch a popback and I doubt I can get another in this size. Has this happened to anyone else? Thx :)

    1. I agree with your thoughts on the lace peplum. I have a long torso and got the vneck wool peplum last year (early spring) and ST definitely a little high waisted on me, kind of like most dresses.

    2. Lace peblum...online under preorder.

    3. @jan, haven't had the insole issue but I've only worn twice. Agree that they're beautiful.

    4. @SuzHas, I have a longer torso too and have trouble with the dresses sometimes.
@unknown, thank you. It looks short on the model in the back.
@Mygoddy, thank you. It seems as though they were worn a bit but not outside (no wear on the soles). I hope they'll be ok.

  8. I went to the clearance store in Lynchburg yesterday morning. I have to tell you - if you're a size 6, you should get there ASAP. They had so many gorgeous sample items in stock! I am NOT a size 6 but I am a size 7 in shoes & the staff was putting out some really cool sample classic ballet flats (SAMPLE NOT FOR SALE is stamped on the inside) in my size - I promptly snatched up two pairs at $24 a piece. One pair is coral with cobalt trim & bow & the other pair is pink with light grey trim & bow. Those were the only things I bought - not much else in a size 10. Womp-womp. (Good for my wallet, though!)
