40% off final sale was going in-store as of Sun afternoon. Hopefully it continues over the next couple of days for those that don't have a J. Crew card. I picked up the cocktail shirt. I went with an 8 because I assumed it fit like a perfect shirt, but it's a little bit. I'm going to keep the 8, even though I think it runs tts. I want the looser fit in the body.
ReplyDeleteLots of stuff marked down over the weekend I store. I did run by and got a couple of things. Do they ever fold stuff any more before they put it in the bag? Do they ever wrap it in tissue any more? My answer is NO. I would at least like it folded, is that too much to ask?
ReplyDeleteMy stores always fold & wrap in tissue. I don't know how they could not even fold something, wow. I can't even walk by a table in the store without folding something that's been tossed there and I don't even work there :D
DeleteI don't need the tissue, though, because I'm just going to throw it away and usually what I'm buying isn't delicate enough to need tissue to protect it.
DeleteHi cate - I totally LOL'd at the folding because I do the same thing. That, and adjusting something that's hanging wrong on a hanger...I especially hate to see that with sweaters! ; )
DeleteI reuse the tissue to stuff shoes and handbags that I can at the clearance store. The shoes don't come in a box or anything and they take the stuffing out of all the handbags so I like to keep on hand. I really just think it is a nice presentation that makes your stuff feel special, not just some old thing that got thrown in a bag. They should at least ask and give you the option, some people like it. I always like it when I buy something on a trip as I tell them not to give me a bag, just wrap in tissue.

DeleteDoodle, I've noticed that, too. Sometimes the SA asks if I want wrapped in tissue and I always say yes. Last visit, my scarf and shirt were just rolled in a ball & thrown in bag. Not amused.
ReplyDeleteI cannot believe how much brand new stuff is already in sale plus 40% off. It literally has not even been cool enough to wear fall stuff anywhere in the US yet and J. Crew's fall stuff is on deep, deep discount.

AGREE! I bought new product with the first cute roll out (pink rhodes suit on the catalog cover) and have already price adjusted it once and now it's on clearance with extra % off and the tags are still on it all! I live in Atlanta ad it is still 90 degrees. Should I try to get another price adjustment? If so, would I take the product and the receipt to the store? So frustrating!

ReplyDeleteI just purchased that particular one on Friday in my local store here in Toronto - beautiful colours! Not just an online item. I got the last one, SA said they'd gone quickly, though they had a few of the grey left. Keep your eyes open.
DeleteMy COLETTE D'ORSAY PUMPS IN HOUNDSTOOTH in navy/ivory shipped quickly and arrived on Friday - they are wonderful. TTS. I especially appreciate the piping. Exactly what I expected! My first CHATEAU PARKA will arrive on Wednesday - really looking forward to it. I got the grey color. I tend to wear LADY DAY coats in very bright colors so the grey CHATEAU PARKA is a departure for me. I think it will be nice to have good coat that is less dressy for weekends/errands.
ReplyDeleteBTW, I could not get up on Saturday morning to drive to the clearance store...I have to get up around 6:30am and be in the car at 8:00 to arrive by 9:50am with a quick bathroom break. I was too tired and just couldn't get myself up. Will probably go this Saturday. I was told that they are cleaning out the warehouse and have seen some stuff come through that is like 6 years old.

DeleteI got my cashmere ruffle polo in light grey, very cute, good thickness, fits TTS. Will see how it wears. Do like the look very much! Would get it in burgundy, but sold out.. but not in hurry for this price...
